  1. You pack your luggage and leave it in your initial stateroom. Your cabin steward will know you’re B2B, but I always print luggage tags for cruise #2 and put them on my bags anyway. The cabin steward takes your luggage to your new stateroom. All the B2B cruisers meet in a designated location, and once all the other cruisers have exited the ship, they escort you off, then through customs/immigration and right back on the ship. Your new sail and sign card is issued at the meeting place.
  2. It’s mostly pasta, but as I recall there’s a Caesar salad offered.
  3. The “coupon” is loaded to your sail and sign card, and you can either take one from the cabin or go to any bar. On my last two sailings when I went to the bar they told me to take one from the cabin. I did, and there was no charge. Apparently when the cabin steward puts through the charge, the “coupon” is recognized and so no charge goes onto the account.
  4. Mine are all still there also. For your own peace of mind, I’d suggest calling Carnival to make sure.
  5. Under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, a birth certificate along with a driver’s license are acceptable to travel between the U.S. and Canada by land or sea. Not acceptable for air travel. The tour operators are within their rights to require passports when traveling into Canada on a tour, but they are not required by the governments of Canada or the U.S.
  6. A birth certificate and driver’s license is all that is required if this is a closed loop cruise. For instance leaving from Seattle and returning to Seattle. A passport is a stronger form of ID but not required.
  7. Only the people in your cabin can board with you unless the people in the other cabins are also platinum, diamond, suite or FTTF. Linking their reservations together doesn’t apply to boarding.
  8. According to my PVP, if there is any chance you might be adding someone later, it’s best to book the cabin for 2, with the second person being designated as “TBD.” That way the space is reserved for them. If/when they do decide to come, the name can be added. The PVP suggested that if they aren’t coming, it’s best to remove them prior to final payment. However, I have heard here on the boards that it would also work for them to be a no-show.
  9. I don’t think you dreamed it. They relaxed the rules quite a bit during covid. My PVP always had to put me on hold and wait for supervisor approval, but there were several times changes were made or fees waived during that period.
  10. Several years ago I submitted an early saver price adjustment form, and it was approved for the price reduction. What I hadn’t noticed and no one told me is that the new rate required a higher deposit. Imagine my surprise several days later when I was doing a mock booking to check prices and saw MY cabin available to book. As soon as the rate adjustment was made without the increased deposit, my booking was cancelled with no notification to me. I did get the cabin back, but that’s only because I noticed it.
  11. My ex-husband liked tomato sandwiches. He went to a Subway and ordered a tomato sandwich and was told they don’t have tomato sandwiches. He then ordered a turkey sandwich, extra tomatoes and veggies, hold the turkey. It worked.
  12. I guess they see an open spot and put their bags there, not knowing what’s available further back. My go-to airline is Delta, and I like to fly Comfort+. I like that the overhead bins in that section say they are reserved for passengers in Comfort+.
  13. That’s really not fair. Do the gate agents allow anyone who chooses to line up to have priority boarding? Seems to me if you paid for your carryon you should have guaranteed space for it.
  14. I like ships where they have a nice big trivia area with plenty of seats, separate from the Alchemy area. That’s best for everyone.
  15. Twice a day service in the cabins. Morning regular cleaning, making bed, changing out towels, etc. Evening turndown service with mints on the pillows. Ice bucket in every cabin with ice refreshed twice a day, without asking.
  16. It such a nice big room. Just too bad they don’t put a couch in those rooms. It’s certainly big enough for one.
  17. Totally agree with this statement. It won’t work to just tell Guest Services he won’t be back on the ship. He must be properly processed off the ship.
  18. Take a look at giving solo cruisers double points when they pay double the fare, like Royal does. I also agree about restructuring the VIFP program. There are too many Diamonds and WAY too many Platinums.
  19. I have used the shareholder non-refundable OBC for gratuities. I have also used it to purchase Carnival gift cards at Cherry on Top. That’s a way of carrying some of the OBC forward to another cruise or using it as a deposit or payment on another cruise.
  20. For US cruises, the shareholder OBC can definitely be used for gratuities. The OBC goes onto your sail and sign account and that amount is used first for any purchases onboard, and for the gratuities.
  21. No, Carnival doesn’t provide any type of birthday gift. The birthday cakes from Cherries On Top don’t cost much though, and they can be delivered to the MDR on the birthday if you wish.
  22. Yes, that was my experience. Just have your Hub app ready to go and request a table as soon as they open.
  23. I can answer some of your questions. I don’t use a TA so don’t know anything about OBC given by travel agents. Both stockholder and booking credit can be used for gratuities and casino. I have done that many times. I don’t know about one person getting stockholder OBC on two different cabins on the same sailing. Maybe someone else can answer that. But I do know that OBC from two separate cabins can’t be combined to use towards purchasing wifi. The daily gratuities are indeed being increased in April. By booking a late 2023 cruise you are NOT grandfathered into the existing gratuity rate. However, if you choose to prepay gratuities before the price increase goes into effect, you will pay the existing rate.
  24. If you’re an early diner and you check in right when they open, you usually get only a 10 minute wait.
  25. Yes, you get the punch card at Java Blue. The first time you buy a coffee drink they should offer you a punch card. If they don’t just ask them.
