  1. It depends on whether your goal is to see as much in Hawaii as you can, or whether you enjoy the sea days. For maximum exposure to Hawaii, you can’t beat NCL’s Pride of America. The cruises start and end in Honolulu.
  2. One more suggestion is to call the Special Needs department at Carnival. That’s the best place to get the answers you need.
  3. I was on the Celebration TA, and the internet was very good and reliable all the way across the Atlantic. I didn’t measure speeds or anything, but there was no problem with it whatsoever.
  4. Some cove balcony rooms have the bed closest to the bathroom and the couch by the balcony door. That’s the way mine was. You’ll have to find out which configuration your cove balcony is. If the couch is by the bathroom and the bed is by the balcony, you might be able to make it work, assuming the couch can be moved. If you have the configuration I had, you couldn’t even get the scooter past the end of the bed. There’s not enough clearance there. Good luck, and I hope it works.
  5. When your cabin is assigned you will be able to see it in your cruise planner, and your luggage tags will show your cabin number. The cabin can be assigned anytime up until the very day you cruise. Normally earlier, but sometimes people only know their cabin number when they get to the terminal.
  6. I haven’t used a scooter on the Celebration but I was in a cove balcony, and I can’t see a scooter fitting into the room. The Celebration cabins are narrower than most ships I have been on, and there is very little extra space. To my knowledge, the couch doesn’t move. Even if it did, where would you put the couch? Have you looked into getting a fully accessible cabin to accommodate the scooter?
  7. DH is coming on my next cruise and is lactose intolerant. I’m wondering whether Java Blue carries alternative “milks” to use in coffee drinks, such as soy, almond, or any other type of dairy-free creamers. Your help would be appreciated.
  8. I always use a lanyard. I find it the most convenient way to have handy access to my S&S card.
  9. Each person who is Platinum gets their allotment of free laundry bags.
  10. I have sailed all three ships and like them all. Panorama is one of my favorite ships in the fleet and I did 14 days on her in January (B2B) and thoroughly enjoyed the ship. Although the ship was near capacity, it didn’t have a crowded feel, and there were always quiet areas around the ship. Also, because Panorama only does 6-7 days cruises, it would always be my choice sailing from Long Beach.
  11. Yes, either call or textl your PVP. Hopefully they’ll be available and able to snag the cabin you want.
  12. When I recently put a hold on a cruise and then called my PVP to pay the deposit, he mentioned that it’s much better if I text him and he’ll put it on hold for me so I can decide for sure and call him to put the deposit on. He didn’t mention that starting soon he wouldn’t get credit, but maybe that was a gentle way of letting me know. My only concern with that is if the PVP isn’t immediately available and there’s a certain cabin I want, I could miss out on that cabin.
  13. Yes, one of my favorites in the. MDR.
  14. Yes, Carnival also turns completely around at the glaciers so everyone gets to see the view.
  15. It’s not just the Spirit. I have recently been on Panorama, Celebration and Splendor and I definitely felt unwelcome when I went to drop off my bags.
  16. Yes, it has been either paused or eliminated. No longer available.
  17. On my last two cruises when I went to the bar to get the water bottle, the bartender told me to just take one from my room. I did, and no charge.
  18. If you bring your own bottle to the MDR, corked or uncorked, they’re supposed to charge the corkage fee. It’s not literally for uncorking the bottle, it’s the charge for bringing your own wine.
  19. Yes, a refund will be made for all prepaid items for the no-show. That includes Cheers, specialty dining, shore excursions, prepaid tips, taxes and port charges.
  20. I can’t tell you how long it will take in Rome. My most recent B2B was in Long Beach. I would not have made a 9:00 - 9:30 excursion. We were escorted off the ship after all other passengers were already off. I would suggest speaking to Guest Services early in your first cruise to see about getting off separately from the other B2B cruisers so you can meet the excursion.
  21. In my experience, the only way to do it is if everyone is on-line at the same time and goes directly to the appointment time. Having them linked doesn’t help for the arrival appointment time.
  22. I have gotten Champaign and a fruit basket on earlier cruises, but on Panorama in January it was cookies. Maybe they were short on fruit.
  23. I have booked with Fly2Fun only once, a year ago. My flight was also not showing up in “Manage My Booking.” I had a printout from when I first booked the flight, but from then until the flight was actually ticketed, I had nowhere on Carnival’s website to see the flight booking. I could only see it by going to the airline’s website.
  24. You will receive full instructions in your stateroom 1-2 days before the first cruise ends, including the procedure if you want to get off the ship and return later. They make everything very easy. Last month I had a bottle of “champagne” and some cookies waiting in my room for being B2B.
  25. You pack your luggage and leave it in your initial stateroom. Your cabin steward will know you’re B2B, but I always print luggage tags for cruise #2 and put them on my bags anyway. The cabin steward takes your luggage to your new stateroom. All the B2B cruisers meet in a designated location, and once all the other cruisers have exited the ship, they escort you off, then through customs/immigration and right back on the ship. Your new sail and sign card is issued at the meeting place.
