  1. Yes, mz-s is correct. The platinum perk is only for bags. The service is called “wash and fold” and no other service can be substituted. Steaming or pressing is charged per piece.
  2. I swear by my PVP and I book all my Carnival cruises through him. Although it’s easy enough to book them myself, I like the fact that he is very knowledgeable and helpful, and if any issues arise, he’s there to help. Also, sometimes he finds an offer I hadn’t seen or a cabin he thinks is better than the one I had in mind, and I appreciate his expertise. He is my third PVP, and he’s a winner! Always returns calls and texts promptly. The first PVP I had left Carnival about 8-10 years ago, second one wasn’t at all helpful. Now I have a top-notch PVP.
  3. I wouldn’t book a flight before Noon. Seattle traffic is notoriously heavy, and as mentioned before, TSA lines can be long, as can check-in lines.
  4. Did they give you any other options besides 11256? They are both connecting cabins. Being on deck 11 would be more attractive if the cabin was non-connecting.
  5. Thanks to all of you who have responded. It helps to know what to expect.
  6. Sounds like you got a good cabin assignment. What ship is this on?
  7. 9:39 - 10:00 is the most likely time for “last call.”
  8. Yes, putting down an earlier time and arriving late is better than putting down a late time and arriving early. If you do arrive late, you will probably be sent right into the terminal. If they’re especially busy, they may have a separate line for early/late arrivals, but from what I have read on these boards that doesn’t happen very often.
  9. It depends on whether your goal is to see as much in Hawaii as you can, or whether you enjoy the sea days. For maximum exposure to Hawaii, you can’t beat NCL’s Pride of America. The cruises start and end in Honolulu.
  10. One more suggestion is to call the Special Needs department at Carnival. That’s the best place to get the answers you need.
  11. I was on the Celebration TA, and the internet was very good and reliable all the way across the Atlantic. I didn’t measure speeds or anything, but there was no problem with it whatsoever.
  12. Some cove balcony rooms have the bed closest to the bathroom and the couch by the balcony door. That’s the way mine was. You’ll have to find out which configuration your cove balcony is. If the couch is by the bathroom and the bed is by the balcony, you might be able to make it work, assuming the couch can be moved. If you have the configuration I had, you couldn’t even get the scooter past the end of the bed. There’s not enough clearance there. Good luck, and I hope it works.
  13. When your cabin is assigned you will be able to see it in your cruise planner, and your luggage tags will show your cabin number. The cabin can be assigned anytime up until the very day you cruise. Normally earlier, but sometimes people only know their cabin number when they get to the terminal.
  14. I haven’t used a scooter on the Celebration but I was in a cove balcony, and I can’t see a scooter fitting into the room. The Celebration cabins are narrower than most ships I have been on, and there is very little extra space. To my knowledge, the couch doesn’t move. Even if it did, where would you put the couch? Have you looked into getting a fully accessible cabin to accommodate the scooter?
  15. DH is coming on my next cruise and is lactose intolerant. I’m wondering whether Java Blue carries alternative “milks” to use in coffee drinks, such as soy, almond, or any other type of dairy-free creamers. Your help would be appreciated.
  16. I always use a lanyard. I find it the most convenient way to have handy access to my S&S card.
  17. Each person who is Platinum gets their allotment of free laundry bags.
  18. I have sailed all three ships and like them all. Panorama is one of my favorite ships in the fleet and I did 14 days on her in January (B2B) and thoroughly enjoyed the ship. Although the ship was near capacity, it didn’t have a crowded feel, and there were always quiet areas around the ship. Also, because Panorama only does 6-7 days cruises, it would always be my choice sailing from Long Beach.
  19. Yes, either call or textl your PVP. Hopefully they’ll be available and able to snag the cabin you want.
  20. When I recently put a hold on a cruise and then called my PVP to pay the deposit, he mentioned that it’s much better if I text him and he’ll put it on hold for me so I can decide for sure and call him to put the deposit on. He didn’t mention that starting soon he wouldn’t get credit, but maybe that was a gentle way of letting me know. My only concern with that is if the PVP isn’t immediately available and there’s a certain cabin I want, I could miss out on that cabin.
  21. Yes, one of my favorites in the. MDR.
  22. Yes, Carnival also turns completely around at the glaciers so everyone gets to see the view.
  23. It’s not just the Spirit. I have recently been on Panorama, Celebration and Splendor and I definitely felt unwelcome when I went to drop off my bags.
