  1. Sadly not a problem we have in UK anymore as Cunard stopped us from purchasing FCDs since the restart after the pandemic. So we do t have the opportunity of getting extra OBC.
  2. Also we have take into account the differing booking conditions that apply to bookings in US compared to UK.
  3. Many if not all give a discount off the fare out of the commission they are given by Cunard. We have always found our specialist cruise TA always beats the price quoted by Cunard if booked direct.
  4. Only recently in local supermarket a woman was face timing somebody and asking them what sandwich they wanted and then showing the selection one by one. However did they manage before.

  6. My advice is don't go for a Q5/6 on deck 4. We had booked a P2 on deck 6 and bid for an upgrade which was unfortunately accepted. The food on QG has been exceptional but corner aft suite is very noisy and not being a great sleeper is causing problems.

  8. I can assure you I have had a conversation with the coffee machine and it certainly wasn't convivial and definitely not in Italian.
  9. Boarding must have started way before 12-30 on Friday last week as we entered terminal they were already boarding and security queue was massive at 12-30.
  10. Yes the butler has been excellent so far even though we don't ask for much and with a far wider choice of drinks than last time on QE.
  11. They were serving meals in Golden Lion on QV last night in the evening.
  12. Wasn't for us we went straight to check in desk and while there announced for Platinum and Princess Grill and there was a massive queue by the time we had finished check on. We then joined the end of the queue for security which took ages to get through. With hindsight if we had arrived at midday to 1215 we would have probably avoided the queue and wait. But being fair we tried to arrive at terminal as close to our boarding pass arrival time which obviously many don't just ignore it and turn up when they want. That is why there were people in security queue with boarding times of 1-30 and 2-30 in front of us who had obviously ignored their stayed check in times on boarding pass.
  13. We must have been unlucky with our embarkation. We arrived at terminal at 1230 for a 1245 boarding time and already the security queue was very long. As we were checking in they called for Platinum to board so they must have started embarkation early as we were before our allotted time and QG and Diamond. 2 couples in front of us waiting in security queue had boarding times of 1-30pm and 2-30pm respectively. Cannot help but think Cunard must do something about allowing people to board 2 hrs before boarding time. It becomes pointless and a free for all and is not well controlled and pointless allocating boarding times if people ignore it and Cunard allow them to board.
  14. Currently in QG on QV and even though they are still illy coffee machines in the suites they are not the type above with plastic pods they are a coffee style tea bag. Still useless and cannot get it to work correctly so now have given up.

P&O have released a corporate statement on their Facebook page which IMO is a giveaway that they are trying to avoid bad publicity about what they are trying to do with regards to pay and conditions of staff. It seems to me to be a repeat of what P&O Ferries did last year with bad publicity and P&O Cruises spent a fortune in advertising saying they were nothing to do with P&O Ferries and avoiding equally bad publicity. Now they seem to be creating their own bad publicity by doing something similar.

  17. But if not safe to configure they will be stuck with a twin bed. Sorry but this has been going on far too long and once again shows the incompetence of P&O staff or poorly trained at best. All too often there are complaints of awful Customer Service by P&O either on here, faceache or other cruise forums. It is never ending and gives the impression that P&O don't care as long as they have your money and dont realise that a once great cruise line is very quickly going down the pan.
  18. I think there is some confusion here Naomi McFerran is the Hotel General Manager for the group P&O and Cunard and is land based. Think violet3 is asking who the hotel manager is onboard QV currently and not the senior Hotel General Manager for Carnival UK. Every ship has a Hotel Manager who travels onboard.
  19. Unfortunately nothing new have said for many years that P&O are run like 2 different companies shoreside and at sea. Customer service in Southampton has always been poor going back years. Now unfortunately because they use the same staff Cunard Customer Service is as equally bad.
  20. Take into account that the plastic tubs hold approx 500-600g and can be available at £3-50 when on special offer or generally about £4 means it is costing only on average about 70p for 100g is excellent price for quality chocolate.
  21. Always use credit card too many issues with "pending holds" on debit card.
  22. As usual P&O forget or don't care about those that don't have smartphones or tablets. Surprise, surprise not everyone has a smartphone.
  23. Princess are always high initially but do drop and offer good prices on BI cruises.
  24. IMO nobody does Round British Isles cruises better than Princess and we have done 5 in the past.
