  1. The Regent robes are for in room use only. If you have a "robe" cover up feel free.
  2. As others have said swimsuit with coverup fine for La Verandah but not for Compass Rose. Please make sure not to wear your bathrobe to either pool or spa; bathrobes are for in room use only.
  3. Those two issues have been posted time and time again. I have mentioned on this board many times that Explorer is a terrible choice for Alaska or Panama Canal because of lack of forward weather deck. Mariner is absolutely fantastic for Alaska as you can quickly go out and in for photos. There are a number of other design flaws on Explorer and very few were fixed by Splendour.
  4. We have 129 nights booked on Mariner prior to next dry dock so I am following this thread closely. Final payment for 2024 Grand Arctic will occur whilst we are on Mariner for Amazon so we should have a somewhat informed decision.
  5. Six Christmases on board with next three Christmases booked (two on Mariner and one on Navigator). We absolutely love the Christmas (and New Years) experience onboard. Last Christmas, with Flossie, David Nevin led an absolute wonderful series of events (Christmas trivia was fantastic). Year before it was COVID impacted John Barron. Before that it was Ray who is absolutely fantastic over Christmas. Our first Christmas onboard was with Barry Hopkins who was also fantastic. Decorations galore; gingerbread, special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus. Religious services and sing alongs and secular singalongs Everything has been wonderful. Marc
  6. This is interesting as the difference is truly different for categories that come with hotel versus those that do not include hotel. For first time I can learn what the hotel credit is for Grand Voyages (all categories). thanks,
  7. Bon Voyage! It will be a great time to get work done with NRO. 😁
  8. I have a different view on the direction. Yes we will lose lots of hours but we gain a full day crossing the date line west to east. Westbound they gain additional hours but they lose a day. Also, September is in the middle of typhoon season around Japan; I much prefer Japanese springtime. Just my two yen.
  9. Jim, we received the same email; I guess we will see you and Mary on Grandeur (with or without infinity pool) this November. I just wish I could get "confirmation" that Trieste is not changing to Fusina.
  10. There is no better space than the Horizon Lounge (on both Mariner and Voyager) both insides and out. Great place to relax; great place for dancing; great place for a pre-dinner cocktail. Voyager set up a little better than Mariner as Chartreuse enters directly from the lounge. The Voyager version has this additional hidden entrance that makes it a quick jaunt from my favorite cabinet.
  11. Too bad they couldn't put in Horizon Lounge in its stead.
  12. Six starboard and six port per deck. Of course, the very old bug wherein if you have looked at one category on multiple decks you have to get all the way out of the booking engine to look at another category with multiple decks is still there; don't know how this has been missed for so many years.
  13. Yes; all you. have to do is set up one shipboard account when you board.
  14. Yes. You can get extra brochures from Cruise Consultant to put under legs of chairs on balcony to raise them up in order to see over the railing.
  15. You can purchase the Regent slumber beds on their website and none of the sizes offered match the size you measured onboard.
  16. Happens occassionally; just not in USA, Canada, UK, and probably Oz and NZ; lowest price onboard booking guarantee gets in the way. That is why Regent will dump inventory overseas. One cruise a large number of Spaniards and a later cruise over 100 out of Hong Kong.
  17. Drats! I will miss those wonderful "dessert appetizers."
  18. No. All the supplies are up there (most of them in benches).
  19. Last year's Grand Arctic was FANTASTIC. Missed a number of ports but officers, staff, crew, fellow passengers, service, and food all outstanding. Better yet, weather was cool whilst it was 100+ at home. We are booked again on the 2024 Grand Arctic.
  20. Army, weren't you on 31 May - 23 June? If so, 4th you were in port; 11th you were in Montreal for turnover day; 18th you were at sea en route Bermuda. I don't know if Splendour would even have Sunday brunch on a twelve day port intensive itinerary. I was on Navigator for 94 days and we had only one Sunday Brunch; of course, COVID was still a concern.
  21. I seem to remember Sunday brunch on Navigator last summer. I think WCers reported on Sunday brunch on Mariner. I just extended to Voyager; no data.
  22. And also on Navigator, Mariner, and Voyager.
  23. Caviar every Sunday whether sea day or not. Easiest to go to La Verandah for breakfast and have all you want (they may portion control but no issue on returning for more).
  24. On port days La Verandah should be open 0700-1000; on sea days 0730-1000. Can open earlier if early tours. Compass Rose is open for breakfast all days 0800-0930. Lunch is 1200-1400 in La Verandah and 1200-1330 in Compass Rose (rarely) or in either of Prime 7 or Chartreuse. Dinner is usually 1830-2100 in Compass Rose and 1830-2130 in other restaurants; really dependent on how crowded the ship is.
