  1. I will provide our anecdotal experiences also. Table for two; three courses; out of Compass Rose in 45 minute. Two courses in Prime 7 and out in 45 minutes; three courses in Prime 7 and out in under an hour. Out of Johnnie Walker Black in Splendor Lounge two nights ago but Andrei tracked down a bottle in Prime 7. Yesterday all the bars restocked. One passenger really likes Hendricks Gin and Andrei showed that he had one hidden for her. Yes, supply issues persist (e.g., no king crab legs in Prime 7) and turnover day is notoriously bad (out of a lot of beers in pool bar) but Regent sure tries to make the onboard experience wonderful. Marc
  2. If your phone is on ship's wifi it should cost. ZERO to post pictures. You are not using your data or your cellular or your wifi.
  3. We spent 24 days in aft facing G2 on Explorer with three adults; definitely manageable. I agree that the bars are the primary issue on Explorer and Splendor. Meridian is no substitute for Horizon Lounge on Mariner and Voyager. In addition, Mariner has one more with Stars. As for hours, don't get me started on why on port days you have to go to Deck 11 for a drink before 4 on Explorer and Splendor. We have sailed a combined 126 days on Splendor, Navigator, and Mariner in last year. Regent has definitely had issues with staff and shipboard management knows it. We have been told a number of reasons; Regent later to get restarted so many staff have gone elsewhere, visa issues, and the odd one that failed COVID test prior to joining the ship. We have also seen a number of staff in multiple departments leave before their probationary period was over. I should have known how bad the bar service would be on Mariner when F&B on the fist day commented on "young bar staff." We have 23 more days on Splendor starting next week; I sure hope bar, waiter, and destinations staff are up to snuff and that the supply issues have been overcome; after all, we are paying a pretty penny. See you soon!
  4. I just received new brochure from Regent today with the OLD itineraries in it; you would have thunk that operations and marketing would be on same page. They lost a golden opportunity to market the new itineraries.
  5. 2023 Mariner World Cruise still has two days in Hong Kong; 16-17 March. Since these are mid-segment; will be interesting to see how long before Regent cancels them.
  6. Can someone onboard post a picture of the outside of door to cabin? Don't remember Splendor design for hanging a wreath. thanks, Marc
  7. General William Westmoreland. Actually, AA.
  8. Fidelity. Been using it overseas for over 15 years and no fee and great exchange rate.
  9. I hope someone shows up soon; maybe Nature's Rhythm willl be back?!
  10. Best place to get currency is at ATMs; no fees and best exchange rates. On our Sydney to Beijing cruise the ship was buying back AUD at worse rate than I got at ATM; I could have made a lot more money if I thought to get additional AUD.
  11. You are allowed to put $400 per segment (per person) on your room bill; easy way to earn miles. Last cruise ship did not have any Euros; just USD. One cruise in 2011 ship had Aussie dollars onboard but otherwise really haven't seen any currencies except dollars and Euros.
  12. On Navigator, after 1130, only music is the jukebox with 1,000s of songs in Galileos. No problem playing what you want and dancing up a storm until wee hours of the morning.
  13. Actually, my survey said less than $100 so your survey should have said "less than C$135" or thereabouts.
  14. Sailed Drake Passage on an expedition ship much smaller than Splendor with no issues. In fact, some sail boats sail across the Drake Passage. Last summer we were on Navigator in North Atlantic when window in Compass Rose was blown out by a wave; caused minor water damage; we had left the spot around ten minutes prior. You pays your money and takes your chances.
  15. I bet it was Mary that spotted the special security; after all, she has spent lots of time in the White House.
  16. Seven Seas Splendor current position is at coordinates 23.0992 N / -41.68391 W en route to S. JUAN, PUERTO RICO
  17. Interesting that the ship informs all other ships and ports that there is "armed security onboard." I never noticed that on CruiseMapper before.
  18. Hendricks was in the bars when we sailed Navigator last summer.
  19. Let me add one more thing. If you find yourself as a solo due a spouse under the weather; just call the restaurant manager and they will be glad to set up a one top for you in Sette Mari. It is no reservation restaurant but they are very accommodating.
  20. We board Splendour on December 13th; who will be GM and CD? Will Alex and Annabelle still be onboard? Who is Cruise Consultant?
  21. Interesting that they didn't tell you until 10am when it had been showing on CruiseMapper since you left Banjul that you were heading straight to Takoradi.
  22. Pcardadl, they are essential if new cruises willl be released prior to getting on your next cruise. Yes, you could make a dummy booking and move it over but these are easier.
  23. I'm surprised to hear that Andy and Tammie retired; this past September was first time that I have ever sailed with them and I truly enjoyed how they led the entertainment department. They are only in their 40s; must be nice to retire so young. Too bad about Null Island. Marc PS Hopefully Margaret replaces John on Voyager.
  24. Jim, what are you going to do on your second day in Cabo Verde? Do you know if you will be crossing the equator at the Primer Meridian? Null Island? Since I am a geography junkie I think that would be the highlight of the trip for me. Also, you mentioned earlier that Grandeur was on schedule according to CC. Just learned that one of the NCL new builds has been delayed due to "supply chain issues;" any rumbling of Grandeur facing the same fate? Almost time to choose excursions and, more importantly, air; beginning to get curious.
