  1. Received mine. 9 more points to Elite + and I am going on a 13-night cruise in 16 days. So we will be Elite + on our next Celebrity sailing. Too bad they will not doing if you make it while on a cruise.
  2. That is what I am seeing for our May 2nd cruise (16 days from now) and it's still being offered so guess it's not that popular depending on the sailing.
  3. Oh wait -- maybe you can't. I watched it on my iPad but that had the App installed. I do not think you can do it on the Web.
  4. Watch it on-line the morning before you board or watch it in your stateroom after you board and then go to your muster station 🙂
  5. As @Essiesmom said there was a large thread about it earlier on here. This is the video about the incident.
  6. Does benign gentle count as kind? I have every intention of doing a live review as it happens, like I have in the past. This time there should/will be more off-ship content as we are doing an excursion in almost every port and I will be taking lots of pictures. I doubt I'll be doing very much on-board content, with the possible exception of food porn as there are lots of video's and reviews of the Millennium showing great pictures of her inside and out. Of course, anything I believe that is unique I'll post. We will be doing pre and post cruise hotel stays in Yokohama, in two different hotels, so I'll be posting on our pre and post cruise experiences as well. I'll probably start my live review on 4/28 as that is when we go to the airport for our flight to Japan.
  7. I read those plans. One questions -- how do I convince you to adopt me and take me with you. I promise to behave.
  8. Oh how I miss the chicory of my youth. We were not from New Orleans but throughout the south you could find it. P.S. I favor Dunkin over @tarrSuck$ as well.
  9. He's not going to need any binoculars. You get very up close and personal with the locks. They caution people not to reach out and touch the walls but you see people, including the occasional crew member, doing it anyway. The sides of the lock are like 3 - 4 feet from the edge of the ship. I watched it from the Retreat Sun Deck, the balcony of our cabin, the Sun Set Bar, and the Promenade on deck 4, stood outside the Retreat Lounge so I could go back and get quick refills. Deck 4 is where people were standing to touch the walls.
  10. @katenmax2 After thinking it over, I have decided just to pick up; a jar of AGF Maxim Instant Coffee at a Lawsons or similar store in Japan and bring that with me. Can use the hot water kettle in the room to make hot water any time I want a cup. This is the instant coffee I drink at home when I feel like a single cup of coffee in a hurry. They have Lavazza with the coffee machines we've seen in our Sky Suites. The machines make too much noise for me, so I just ask our butler to bring us coffee from Cafe al Bacio, or at least I use to when we had butlers. Going to be interest to see what we have next month on Millennium. OMG - $tarSuck$ and better coffee are oxymorons. They over roast their cheap beans. The only thing I'll order from them is a Frappuccino or a nitro cold brew. The best hot coffee they have, INHO, is their Christmas Blend and my instant coffee still taste better.
  11. What @Best Cat Mom said. We had a lot more OBC and used the casino, especially the 'bubble roulette' game to take it out of our on board account and turn it into cash. A lot of that was used to tip those we felt went above and beyond.
  12. They were in a YC Cabin.
  13. I liked that wine. It and the Oboron you had the other night became my "go to's" for lunch and dinner.
  14. If you have not done it before you'll love it. We did it on Millennium last year, out of FLL, and really enjoyed all the sea days.
  15. The package you receive in the YC is not the streaming package but the browse package. However, that being said, it was higher speed that Celebrity's Premium package..
  16. @MNSails These are all wonderful ideas that you should be discussing with your Travel Agent since you mentioned earlier that you booked through one. Have her/him earn your business by helping you through all the options. Speaking of options, there is one that I can't recall being mentioned -- Keep your original booking, drop your two guest off of it and book them into a separate cabin. You get your room, they get theirs.
  17. And don't forget to ask for horseradish on the side. There is usually almost no flavor/bite to the cocktail sauce they normally serve. My DW loves it and orders it at most meals . She normally does not eat more than a bite or two of the cheese, bread, and onions but drinks the soup/broth almost dry.
  18. Thank you for your service and your comments. Making friends with crewmembers is 100% the way to go. I made friends with the Beverage Manager on my last Millennium cruise and as a result there was a bottle of a beverage, that was no longer carried onboard at the time, given to the Retreat Bartender with instructions to hide it and only serve it to me. I am trying to talk my DW into letting me carry my hand mill and some beans with us on our upcoming cruise. Need to research how Japanese customs would feel about my bringing a container of roasted beans into the country.
  19. yes, that is close to the recipe - Grey Goose vodka, Disaronno Amaretto, Licor 43, and lemon peel. No cherry in the one I was served.
  20. Alexandra - So glad that you and MR both made it home safely and received a warm welcome from your furry Mafia. Good luck with your renovations and look forward to the upcoming journeys with the Queen.
  21. It's apparently getting harder to get Guest Services to punch a hole in the card because the antenna for the RFID used for the electronic door locks is embedded in the card. Most people I see with lanyards these days have plastic pouches that contain the card affixed to the lanyar. I use the card holder they provide you when sailing in a suite. This, as mentioned above, has a pouch on both sides and I keep tip money in one and my card, and my spouses, in the other side. I have also seen people use business card holders as well, but outside of a lanyard, pockets are required.
  22. I agree with @Mr. Click and your TA. By taking your name off the original booking, you are creating two new bookings. Additionally, the individual sailing solo would be subject to the solo passenger charges, which depending on ship and room, could result in paying almost double for the solo room. I do not believe you can be on two reservations at the same time so not sure how you would show up for one and be a no show for another. Unfortunately, I be the short answer is NO - there is no way to do what you are trying to do.
  23. If you are looking at comparison between MSC's YC and the Celebrity Retreat there are number of recent reviews. Here is one And there is also one i did, link in my signature. p.s. Make sure you do a status match of your Celebrity Captains Club to MSC Voyagerss Club. Depending on your level with Celebrity there could be some added benefits, cruise discount for one. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/manage-booking/msc-voyagers-club/status-match
  24. We tipped pretty much in the same manner as @Best Cat Mom. Those who provided us with great service we tipped using envelopes. In Le Muse we had the same waiter and assistant waiter for almost ever dinner. During lunch it was a variety of waiters and assistants and any of them that we though deserved it we tipped as well. We also tipped our stateroom attendant, who was our assistant butler. In the Top Sail Lounge we tipped our waiters when served or at the end of the evening. I also tipped the bartenders - there is usually a different one in the morning and the evening.
