  1. The milk tray chocolate bars were also a favourite for me as a special treat to myself, closely followed by the bars with layers or milk, white and plain chocolate on top of each other that I only seemed to be able to get from the vending machine of the swimming baths.
  2. I remember kunzle cakes. I also used to eat the cake and cream first leaving the chocolate shell to eat last.
  3. Sounds good to me but maybe when it is a little warmer.
  4. I saw the great Spike Milligan on stage in the mid 70s. The humorous singer and guitarist Jeremy Taylor appeared alongside him. They were both hilarious and the concert didn’t end until the early hours when Spike said he had run out of things to say, dropped his trousers and left the stage.
  5. Mr and Mrs Presto2 and I have spent the evening at a concert given by an amazing 74 year old pianist and keyboard player. No prizes for guessing who it is but he was truly amazing and not at all grumpy.
  6. Britannia Building Society were taken over by Co-operative Bank in 2010 to prevent their likely collapse. It remains as a trading name of Co-op Bank but not as a separate and independent financial institution capable of making decisions to provide sponsorship for a football stadium.
  7. Bit of a misunderstanding here. Harry Souttar is a central defender who plays for Stoke City and Australia in the World Cup. He did not score for anyone today but had a pretty good game as a defender. The game finished 2-2 which was a fair result based on the way each club played (although Stoke City were denied two obvious penalties by an incompetent referee). By the way, in reference to your later post the Britannia Stadium is now called the Bet 365 stadium since the Britannia Building Society ceased to be.
  8. No disrespect but I hope the Stoke match goes ahead, I am pretty sure it will, because I am looking forward to watching it.
  9. Ovo are introducing something similar but different. It appears to be willing to give a discount for reducing use during times when consumption is too high to be covered by renewable energy (peak times). Off peak times, you can use as much as you want because renewable energy is more readily available. They will use the smart meter data to monitor usage at different times of the day. I am therefore considering becoming nocturnal to save money - if it can work for badgers it can work for me. 🦡
  10. Hopefully it is they who are confused and not you. 🤔
  11. I know that OBC is built into the pricing structure but it seems a bit churlish to complain about not getting a discount on money that is given and not coming out of your own bank account.
  12. You can be quite sure that they will send you renewal details in good time with regular reminders.
  13. So those who didn’t ‘win’ tickets essentially paid £10 each not to see Gary Barlow? Some would see that as a bargain win win situation (but certainly not me)🥴
  14. You will be able to claim on the missed port part of your cruise cover insurance, but only if your policy includes missed port cover. You will need a copy of the letter that they will make available onboard to support your claim.
  15. It may be a good idea to check that bird flu has not caused your local farm to cull all of it’s turkeys. With more than a month until the big day, it is quite possible that many customers will be disappointed ☹️
  16. Wear a long one and if anybody comments, tell them it would be considered short on a taller person.
  17. I have no idea. Perhaps if you start a new dress code thread, you may find out. 😇
  18. It is the last full day of our Martinis and Mistletoe break at Warners Thoresby Hall. Not come across much martini but evidence of mistletoe around. You would need to have a good head for heights to get properly underneath it though and somebody else equally brave to join you.
  19. picture taken a few minutes ago in the Great Hall at Warners Thoresby Hall
  20. It seems it is Martinis and Mistletoe which sounds a little ominous. 🫣
  21. We will be spending 4 days next week at Warner’s in Nottinghamshire. Not sure whether it is Turkey and Tinsel (hopefully not because it is only November) but good to know it will be warm.
