  1. Use to get one for the preferences in a SS. On our last cruise in Nov we didn’t receive one. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  2. Taxi or Uber. Faster and cheaper. Don’t waste your time or money on their shuttle as others have already posted Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  3. From our recent experience we will no longer pay the outrageous prices for a SS. The little extra touches that the butler provided are no longer there. We met the butler on the first day by accident. We were leaving an our cabin and he was in the hallway. He said if we wanted anything call or ask the cabin attendant. The first morning we called for americanos. It was delivered, but after that we didn’t do it again. Not worth the bother. We didn’t see the butler again during a 10 day cruise. We wondered if he was going to show up on the last night with his hand out. The benefits of being in the Retreat and Luminae don’t justify the cost. We spent very little time in the retreat areas and in Luminae we ordered many nights from the MDR. I think Luminae on the Edge class is getting to be larger than the 4 MDR dining rooms We do have some cruises that were previously booked in a SS and are at a good price. After those if we book any more it will be in a veranda or maybe AQ depending on the price difference Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  4. I was debating booking a B2B cruise on the Xcel. The prices were way too high for a suite and the other prices weren’t cheap. It was late at night and I decided to wait until the next day to investigate more and decide what we wanted to do. When I looked at the cruises again the next day the prices went up $200 pp per cruise because of their new sale promotion. That made my decision very easy. They will sail without me. It was high enough to begin with and who knows what other cuts, and changes will happen by the cruise dates in Mar 2026. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  5. If you are looking to buy a watch and collecting them don’t buy any on board. Buy from a land based seller to establish a relationship with the dealer. Watches that are in demand, and rare are reserved and sold to their best customers. They want to be sure that they are not selling them to a flipper. Years ago I become acquainted with Lucky at Goldfinger in St Maarten. He is an authorized Rolex dealer. I have bought a few watches from him and visit every time we are on that island. When I would be talking to him looking at the watches people would constantly run in and rudely butt in asking if he had any SS Daytonas. I would tell them that they were too late as I bought the last two he had at a 20% discount. He never had any SS but did have some In the precious metals. He had a waiting list for the SS and those were for his best customers. He would have always have at least 300 Rolex watches now it is none. Today stores on any of the islands have any Rolex, or Patek warches to sell. They may have some on display but they for show only, or reserved for their best customers. There is one store on St Maarten that is an authorized Patek dealer that had some previously owned Pateks. They are being sold on consignment and a hefty deposit had to be paid to try them on. if you really want a pre owned watch try this place https://pduggan.com Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  6. Blu serves breakfast and dinner. For that I would pay max $30/day pp over a veranda for the AQ category that also comes with some other amenities. If it was a separate dining option I wouldn’t pay anything. The MDR, and buffet would be good enough. happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  7. Are you talking about Tennessee Whiskey πŸ₯ƒ? I think it is pretty good. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€— Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  8. The ships water is great. It is a lot better than the tap water in FL, and a lot of other states. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  9. I think the CD is full of BS. We have been on many back stage tours. We were told by the cast that they rehearse for the shows for months before going on a ship after their tryouts. They said when their contract is up they still have to tryout again for another contract. I highly doubt that they come on a ship cold and learn the show. They do rehearse on the ship but that is just to clean up and get better. We also always make a positive comment about still having live music for the shows. My only negative feelings about the production shows is the lame themes. Prancing around a chandelier or a large hat? I think there were 3 productions shows on our cruise. The singers and dancers deserve better material. I seen better production shows put on by high school and the local performing arts community. Skipped most of the guest entertainers. Don’t like Illusionists, or magicians. I can figure out most of them as they all do the same thing. Just a different presentation. I also skip any winners or runners up from the talent TV shows as I don’t watch or like those shows. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  10. They use the big pump bottles. I was having a problem with a lot of static in my hair. It wouldn’t lay flat. My wife had brought some shampoo and conditioner. I tried it and it eliminated the static. I would suggest taking your own just in case you experience the same problem. The shampoo and conditioners were seperate. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  11. We were on the Nov 6 and did a B2B getting off on the 20th. The last cruise was a 4 day. Both cruises were full. The 4 day was a completely different crowd but it didn’t really change anything. Something was missing on both cruises and I think it was those little things, and personal touches that Celebrity decided to cut out. I think the crew was really affected as they seemed to be short staffed. Also wasn’t impressed by any of the shows and I think they used the Atrium for too many shows and events that could or should be somewhere else. It made all of the areas around it too noisy and crowded. Some should have been in the Sky Lounge. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  12. We sailed on the Silhouette at the end of Nov. it is the first time while on board that I didn’t book a future cruise. For us something was missing. It didn’t have the vibe or excitement. We were in a suite and the cut backs took away the suite experience and didn’t justify the cost that we paid. The staff seemed to be overworked. We still got great service and for the most part the food was decent. Nothing was outstanding. The BTs are the Martini bar weren’t as entertaining, the Mari is now use Ketel One instead of Grey Goose. The drinks at the WCB are ok but not as good as they use to be because of the cut backs in the liquor that is used Hope you have a better experience. If you haven’t been on X for many years you won’t notice the differences or changes. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  13. I received a email for a move up. It is a 3 day cruise that we booked to test the waters on MSC in the YC. The minimum for the upgrade to Delux of $50 is what it would cost if I upgraded directly The $1145 is more than the $930 that it would be if I upgraded directly. Look at the owners suite price difference. $2600 compared to $1400 NO Thanks. Check on the website and see what the actual price would be without bidding on a move up. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ… Here are some upgrade options, priced per person for the entire duration of the cruise: MSC YACHT CLUB OWNERS SUITE From $2,615 USD pp SEE DETAILS YACHT CLUB Royal Suite From $1,145 USD pp SEE DETAILS MSC YACHT CLUB DELUXE GRAND SUITE From $50 USD pp SEE DETAILS Β©
  14. You sailed on the Beyond and the Apex and Edge. What one did you like better? The Ascent would be more similar to the Beyond and would also have some added tweaks, like the differences between the Beyond, Apex, and Edge. The Beyond was the newer ship and it included the WCB, changes to the Martini bar, different layout in Luminae and improvements in the Retreat desk. Is it worth $800 more? It is the newest ship and would be different than the other ships. I think the Celebrity website highlights a lot of the new features. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  15. The ship travels thru the first set of locks. Then it sits in the lake. Passengers on tours will then tender off of the ship to go on their tours. You can only tour thru the cruise line. The ship then leaves and goes to Colon later in the day to pick up the passengers that have been on a tour. If you don’t take a tour you stay on board and go thru the locks back to Colon. It is considered a partial transit as you go thru the locks into the lake and then back out. You don’t go all the way thru to the pacific. If you take a tour you are on the ship for the first time thru that set of locks. We have booked this tour at 50% off it takes you thru to the pacific. Seems like a great value at 50% off. Destination Highlight: Panama Canal Locks and Culebra Cut Cruise Day 5 - Colon, Panama From $116.99 $234.99/ per guest (50% OFF)BLACK FRIDAY SAVINGS Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  16. On our recent cruise during the conservative cruiser meeting someone asked about the Concierge Lunch. They were told it is no longer available except for Concierge passengers. We were in a suite so it didn’t matter to us. If not we would have gone to the buffet. More choices and since we were B2B we would have been among the first to in there. The Concierge Linch menu is very limited and service can be very slow. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  17. They increased the gratuities for the retreat cabins and cut the services. Gratuities were included along with some OBC in the price of a suite. It has been eliminated for all new bookings. It was the little things like a glass of bubbly, and a rose for the women when you embarked that made Celebrity special and above the rest of the mass cruise lines. No longer. X has lost its luster and class. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  18. So what! Whoever she is. Should we ring her door bell and run? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ What is the purpose of the post? Invading her privacy and how did anyone know?
  19. On our recent B2B cruise there were less than 100 passengers. I would say about 60 max. Someone asked at the meeting about the consecutive cruise lunch in the dining room. The answer was they no longer do that for consecutive cruisers. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  20. What you say is true but if you read the description given on the Celebrity site it calls the space a veranda. And that is what I was trying to point out. The cabins are still the same size. Smoke and mirrors Edge Stateroom with Infinite Veranda These incredible staterooms take our standard veranda stateroom and, with the touch of a button, blurβ€”even eraseβ€”the boundaries between inside and outside living space. This brilliant innovation gives you luxurious open air access to the sea, whenever you wish. Total living space 243 sq. ft. Veranda 42 sq. ft Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  21. The Retreat lounge will not make the Martinis that are unique to the Martini Bar or those that are unique to the WCB. They may serve beers that are at the Craft Social. It depends on the BT and your relationship. $$$$. πŸ€— Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  22. The buffet on port days for lunch. πŸ€— Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  23. From want I have read the port hole veranda is 202 sq ft with a 40 sq ft veranda. A IV is 243 sq ft with a 42 sq ft veranda. I don’t t know of the total sq ft of the IV includes the veranda. If it does the size of the cabin is the same. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
