  1. Why, exactly, is that the case and how would the published distribution of gratuties figure into whether a person should choose to remove them?
  2. Well, it seems you've accepted the 'worst case' scenario and, who knows, perhaps things will work out more favourably for you once onboard.
  3. Do you have to book the cruise through CAA to be able to take advantage of the CFAR option in the insurance coverage?
  4. Do you mean book the cruise through CAA Travel then takenthe CFAR within 72 hours of booking?
  5. You don't think you'll get 50% of what you paid rebated to you?
  6. Seems to me you've fabricated an issue to launch yet another tipping thread.
  7. You mean the 20% gratuity is payable on the $7 excess for the fancy wine (total payable $8.40)? I guess the upshot is that the OP is not liable for additional gratuities for any glasses of wine consumed anywhere on the ship as long as the price of the wine fits within the basic drink package.
  8. I think the primary issue is that the insurer (Nationwide) that offers this Princess feature is not licensed to sell insurance in BC.
  9. Sure. Share with anybody you wish to. It's about the number of devices with simultaneous wifi access; not who is on it or where on the ship the devices are living.
  10. Really? You're saying they're not all the same?
  11. Probably more. Riviera is not all that 'small' though and I wouldn't think the difference in motion would be substantial. Not having been on it.... can't tell you from direct experience.
  12. Bow and stern (forward and aft) are always going to move/pitch more than midship.
  13. I don't mind. I also pre-paid for onboard water packages and crew appreciation. I'm expecting those two items to go up in price well above the after-tax investment income I may make on what I spent on them and they're fully refundable at any rate. I'm expecting the onboard bottled water package to disappear at any time.... it's too good a deal for Princess to leave out there for those of us uninterested in other beverage packages.⁸
  14. Or maybe all this was a clever Princess strategy to have a bunch of Platinum and Elites cough up some ready cash right now. I did.
  15. I don't think anybody is trying to backdate anything. Those cruisers at Platinum and Elite may want to book and pay for their internet now and take the 50% discount on the current price before it changes ( from $15 to $25). In your case, you may as well wait until you are platinum, take the discount and pay $12.50.
  16. I'd look at Turkish Airlines.
  17. I don't believe that will happen and, IMO, shouldn't. Back dating pricing and discount schemes the way you'd like will not work.
  18. It seems the OP is looking at a seven-day round trip on Enchanted Princess out of NYC. The Canadian port of call will be Halifax, and maybe Saint John. I'd say the website for NE USA you provided is OK for 'predicting' the colours. Me, I'd choose early to mid October for this, if possible.
  19. Not many places for cruis ships to dock. Yo will be at the Muelle de Cruceros. A bit of a walk down the pier to town (4 Ave).
