  1. I feel your pain! I don't know whether you have the wherewithal to get yourself (and traveling companions if you want) into a lounge for a few hours... it has become more difficult, and expensive, to purchase day passes.
  2. I agreewith 1025cruise... you may be a week or two early. Take the risk though and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. I don't know about Rockland, Maine but the shops/stores and the majority of sites will be open in the other destinations. One place you may want to check carefully is the Fortress of Louisbourg (Sydney stop) if that interests you. The Fortress ought to be open but all the displays and activities that are normally on during the high season may not be available.
  3. I believe the power strip with surge suppression was brought up as an example of something 'not bring with you' that the cruise line has clearly told passengers.
  4. Me too. Things are just as mixed up as previously but nothing I really care about (a couple of specialty dinners) changed.
  5. If you can get permission from Princess and CBSA to leave the ship in Victoria I'm certain you'll still have to pay the entire cruise fair plus a hotel in either Victoria or Vancouver and all your transportation costs between Victoria and Vancouver.
  6. Number 2 may work but I don't believe Princess will (now) sell the two cruises together knowing they create a PVSA violation.
  7. In my opinion, trying to store luggage and going 'out on the town' prior to a 3:00 pm departure from MIA is a waste of time and energy. I suggest you get off the ship as late as possible and make your way to the airport.
  8. We are off on an S2S; first cruise is December 16, second is December 23. I plan on loading the new app on December 1 and seeing what happens. I'll let you know.
  9. These 'tips' seem more oriented to not flying.
  10. Maybe they sent a sternly worded letter to the rays...
  11. Thanks. Did you book your 'Future Cruise Vacation' while onboard?
  12. I didn't see that phrase in the original post.
  13. I suggest you reconsider the plan; even if you're permitted to get on and off the ship on embarkation day. I've walked back and forth from the pier to the Cup Noodles Museum and it is not an easy stroll. With a couple of seniors and a toddler in tow, I expect it would be considerably more difficult. On top of that, if the weather is warm and humid that will take a toll... especially if it rains. Factoring in the time you'll need to be onboard prior to departure and do your safety procedures this is not likely to be a pleasant way to begin your cruise.

  15. I have heard about grow-ops hidden away in the engine room spaces.
  16. You'll stay at Ruby. Loyalty level is adjusted after the cruise is completed.
  17. An interesting possibility. I think it's more of a practical matter that most people simply cannot plan their flight needs that far in advance (say, more than 11 months) to make it worthwhile to maintain airline schedules and pricing structure. Additionally, I think it is an industry convention for major airlines to stay more-or-less with this.
  18. That Mel.... he was a Baaaad Boy!
  19. That's waaay more than any other Canadian city. TO snow pussies.
  20. Montreal (YUL) is a single terminal with three 'jetties' - Domestic, International and Trans-Border (US flights). There can be a bit of walking depending on your connections but nothing too difficult and you certainly don't have to take shuttles or trains. As for factoring in a Marxh snowstorm, good luck with that. If it's bad enough, there is a good chance you will not have to worry about a connection in YUL as you may not actually get there. On the plus side, if you can land in YUL, there is an excellent chance you'll be able to depart as they are very good/experienced at managing snow.
  21. I'd choose an alternate means of getting from Burlington to Manhattan in January but you may have your own specific reasons for wanting to do it. In any event, you should know the I90 (New York Thruway) is an electronic toll road. All the toll gates have been removed in favour of cameras... like the 417 but much less expensive. Just before you hit the road, you may want to pre-register your car at the following site to avoid any issues with the toll cops - and who knows abou any other US authority with access to a computer - later in life. https://www.tollsbymailny.com/vector/videotolls/paytollnow/signup.do?locale=en_US&from=Home
