Wow!!! Who would've thought this would be such a big deal???

It is big.

When they allow the crew to get screwed by non tippers yet they can fix it by simply including it in the fare, they have egg on their face now.

What possible reason would they care about who tips or not? I know,so they can monitor bad service. Come on,when you work for tips you know how to work it.

I just hope no one on the cruiseline gets in trouble for it. Like whoever put it up there and allowed them into that area or was responsible for keeping them out of that area.

I think it's good people know it's real, maybe some will think twice before they stiff the crew.

I was told by our TA we had two choices when it came to tips. We could pre-pay, or, Carnival would charge our sign and sail card at the end of the trip. In other words, they're going to get the min. tip. Of course one may give extra if they feel a crew member did an exceptional job. ???

Its the cruiseline that is stiffing the crew. They have the power to stop it.Why would you want to cruise with a cruiseline that allows their hard working crew to be stiffed?

For the same reason you and everyone else here does. It's a great cruise for the $$ and I do my part by leaving my tips on and tipping above when warranted.

Personally, I think someone is in BIG trouble.... I also don't believe that this was a mistake and it shouldn't have been posted.. What I believe is that it was a mistake that Wennfred had access to see it, take a picture of it and post it.... I believe the mistake was that Carnival got caught and tried getting out of it. A BIG mistake was also made by whomever was taking them on the galley tour.

Yes, Wennfred might also have wandered off course :) but I'm glad he did... Although we have never removed our tips from the Sign n Sail, I personally think it stinks that such a list even exists... Service should remain the same regardless of who tips and who doesn't.

Good for this coming to light. Folks here have always said that the crew knew who opted out of tipping, they should.

I do see Carnival said this was over the flu and made it sound like folks were protesting the itinerary on the Splendor by removing tips (like that is a good excuse??).

I hope the pax are embarrased to be known.

OK...what a crock of garbage.

Uproar by the passengers who saw it posted?

It was 2 people, who both posted here and they laughed about it. Far from an uproar.

BTW...Fred...did they ask permission to use your picture? They obviously make money with that site with all the advertisers. They are making money with all the hits they are getting from this thread alone...all on a made up story with the picture they stole from you.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I can confirm that there was no wandering to get this picture. The entire group was escorted right by it, it was in a main portion of the area. There wouldn't have been any way for them to take us elsewhere to avoid it.

More importantly, like someone mentioned earlier, did they get CC's permission to reuse the photo??

Exactly. Once WennFred posted it here, no one is supposed to be able to use it or any quotes without CC's permission. So.... did that happen?

This isnt unique to Splendor. I actually saw a similar thing last year during a galley tour on Legend.

Also on Liberty in a casual conversation with a waiter he mentioned that they had a list of passengers who did not tip.

I guess I didnt realize the significance of it at the time.
