12 For Dinner seating on the Constellation??

Traveling with 10 of our friends on the Constellation May 2018. Anyone actually seen a table for 12??

Early traditional dinning @ 18:15 is full all ready! We will try for select dinning & book at 18:30 each night. we like the traditional dinning because of having the same wait staff & all the pleasure that comes with getting to know them & they us! ...So looking for advice from those that have experience with large group dinning on Celebrity...Thanks!

Link all reservations together in they aren't already. Request to be moved to traditional dining. Usually when a group is linked, it's easy to get the traditional dining. They made a table for the 12 of us out of plywood to accommodate us all.

Having your cruise reservations linked is very good advice. It makes it so much easier for the dining room staff to meet your needs. Do it before you sail, then make the dining room your first stop on board while you wait for your luggage to find you. Don't know if it helps, but our table rule ... nobody sits in the same seat every night. Move around the table for a different view, as well as a new conversation each night.

Yes good advice ....did this last time at a table of 6...makes the wait staff really get to know you LoL;)

We have done a table of 11.

 

I'd let Captains Club know and ask how you can arrange for your group to sit together. If CC can't tie your reservations together and arrange for you to be seated together, go to the MDR upon boarding (or as soon as you can) and speak with the Maitre D'.

 

I do like the idea of swapping seats as that will give everyone a chance to speak with someone different every night, but it will drive your waitstaff crazy! They will try to have your drink orders ready for you when you arrive, so "mixing it up" will confuse things just a tad...until they get the idea, and then things will be ok.

Connie has 4 tables of 10. They were able to fit 11 people at our table. The other option is the 2 tables of 6. It is really up to you and your party. We have found that the larger the table the longer dinner takes.

And if the table for 12 is round, you will not be able to talk with people across from you.

 

 

Two tables of 6 should be the first choice.

Agree..larger tables always take longer for service..better with two sixes..have fun!

We always travel with a group of at least 10 and up to 26. We always opt for 2-3 tables and everybody moves around to visit with others. We do let our servers know and it has never been a problem. Our upcoming cruise is a group of 18 and our TA has arranged for 2 tables next to each other.

We traveled with 16 people and had two tables next to each other and moved around every night. It was perfect.

Thanks to all you helpful CCers with your tips ...We booked 2 tables of 6 close to each other for 630 each night with Select dining with assistance of our TA....hope we can get the same wait staff most nights & "A good time will be had by all"

The vast majority of those who sit at larger tables respect others. I've been in the MDR and Blu when a table became so loud that it interfered with others. In one case the F&B Manager came into Blu in an attempt to quiet a table.. Didn't work and the group was no longer spotted in Blu. Not saying that a 2 top can't be bothersome, but the more you get the greater the potential for loud behavior. Some people dine as a social experience. Others just want a quiet meal. Just be respectful of others.

3 tables for 4 is even better and dine with different people every night. You can all meet up somewhere else to discusss anything that may need to be talked about.

 

With a group of 12 you may want to consider dining in QSine one night. It a venue that made for large group to get the total experience.
