Alaska 2013 season begins

With the Crystal ship reaching Kodiak today, the Alaska 2013 season has officially/technically begun...while we in Denver hope this is the last of the snowstorm for the season.

We arrived on the Crystal Ship around this time last year and it was great to be the first ship of the season.

Just spoke with Orca Enterprises in Juneau to book a whale excursion and they said there were 3 humpbacks in the bay today!! I am hoping for many more to find their way up there as I am coming all the way up to visit them in June!:D

We are on the June 21st south trip after the land tour. Can't wait for it !!!!

We will be on the Disney Wonder in July. Will we see snow capped mountains and will there be ice in the water when we sail Tracy Arm?

I'm on the Island Princess starting May 13 for a B2B. Its always fun to be on one of the first trips of the season, lotso f snow still on the mountains and the tour/shop operators are glad to see us.

Most likely yes to both questions. I have sailed AK in both July and August and saw snow on the mountaintops that are the highest along with the glaciers. When we sailed in August we did Tracy Arm and there was some floating ice. Our ship had been the first of the season to actually get right up to the glacier, usually the fjord is blocked with ice. I am going in June this year, so am looking forward to seeing the difference.

Me too! Same ship, date and first time to Alaska! I am like a kid on Christmas Eve and its still a month away!

We will be on the Disney Wonder that leaves Vancouver on May 27th, 2013. We have previously sailed the inside passage on Princess from Seattle.

11 sleeps here! Can't wait to see Alaska again!

I'm heading up on Monday (4/29) for the 4th time. This is the earliest we've gone, so it should be interesting. Can't wait!

Celebrity Mellinium September 6th SB, with a pre-cruise to Fairbanks and Denali. A very long planned 1st trip to Alaska. I can't wait to read all the reviews! Everyone have fun!

I sure hope you come back and describe your trip and all the lovely details, we are looking at the exact same cruise next year tho, unfortunately.

I will be sailing June 7th on the Solstice, my first time on Celebrity and Alaska, this will be different for me I always sail to the Caribbean.

We are sailing June 11th! We were there in June 2009. Cruised Tracey arm and saw all the sea lions giving birth on the icebergs. Also the eagles would land and eat some of the afterbirth (kinda gross I know, but also cool in a way) AMAZING EXPERIENCE!:D

We will be on Island Princess May 20 after 4 days on land. So looking forward to this trip.
