Produce123 Posted October 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2017 hi there, looking for tips or advice to where to go or other hints so that my girlfriend and myself would be the first to get off the ship at 8am when we get to ports? Thanks.
Micahs Grandad Posted October 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2017 Be ready when the ship docks but why do you need to be first all the time? If not a tender port by 8 15 or so can pretty much walk right off without waiting on line
Doggielover68 Posted October 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2017 People don't usually get off right at 8am. It takes a little bit for customs to clear the ship. Just wake up early and have your stuff ready so you can go when they tell you to. Sent from my iPad using Forums
easyboy Posted October 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2017 Arrival time in ports may vary. You may want to firm up your activities in port that may not be necessary for you to get off among the first. klfrodo Posted October 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2017 Purchase a cruise line excursion. Since these people have priority anyways.
maryred Posted October 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Arrive on deck A or 0 (or whatever deck the FunTimes lists as the debarkation area) at 6:45am. Believe it or not people will start lining up that early for an 8 am all ashore call.
sanger727 Posted October 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2017 For non-tender ports you won't have any issues. Once customs is cleared you'll be able to walk off with little delay. Tender ports are a different thing. If being first off is important to you you'll want priority debarkation via a cruise line excursion, being in a suite, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

serene56 Posted October 19, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 19, 2017 For a tendered port you will have to wait til the cruiselines excursions are let off. The other ports you wait with all the other people who didnt listen to the directions NOT go to down until the ship is cleared.
Eaches Posted October 19, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 19, 2017 For some ports of call I swear they sleep on the steps just to be among the first people off. That’s too bad ! 1/2 of the ports I would have stayed on the ship and enjoyed the surrounding ! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
ABQrobin Posted October 19, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 19, 2017 hi there, looking for tips or advice to where to go or other hints so that my girlfriend and myself would be the first to get off the ship at 8am when we get to ports? Thanks. There is no port where you will need to get off at 8am. They have to make an announcement that customs have cleared, then there will be all the rude animals running down to Deck 0 and pushing and shoving. Not worth it. Wait 15 minutes and you will walk off in an orderly manner, no problem. Tender ports are the only exception to this.... it can take 30 minutes to get off the ship then, and that is still plenty of time to do everything. We did the stupid thing, get in line at 7am for an 8am departure once...okay, maybe twice. Total waste of our time. Both times we were off no faster than if we had taken our time and waited for the crowds to rush off.
sanmarcosman Posted October 20, 2017 #16 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Deck one forward by the secret door or aft on two deck when on a re-positioning sailing has worked for us.
kcdancerkc Posted October 20, 2017 #17 Share Posted October 20, 2017 I realize you have many , many, questions, there are some first time cruisers boards that may help.
