Cruise director list enjoy

Jimmy Rhodes as a cruise director. Seems like he is always on the Explorer. We are booked on Explorer in January and again in March. Please let us have a different cd this year!!!

Amy Fickert was the CD on the Oasis 9/10-9/17. I enjoyed her a lot. I had Graham Seymour when he was on Princess. Loved him, but he was always "on". More like being a showman (not that there is anything wrong with that). Amy seemed real, but fun loving. Definitely different styles.

Any idea as to who will be the CD on the 11/20/11 sailing of Explorer?

Supposedly Richard Spacey from the Oasis. I was told he starts on Explorer on 10/22/11. They are not sure for how long, but possibly for 2 months. If this is true, I have been on 17 cruises and he is hands down the best.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Jimmy Rhodes is, hands down, the absolute worst cruise director ever. He doesn't speak properly and clearly, his activity-planning skills are lacking, he's not entertaining in any sense of the word, and he is not as friendly as he likes to tell people he is.

I'll be on the October 9th sailing of Navigator of the Seas, and according to Crown and Anchor, Warren Melhuish will be the cruise director.

 

I've never had him for a CD. Anybody know anything about him? Is he entertaining? :-)

We had Jimmy Rhodes twice as a CD, and he was horrible both times. In fact, a couple of people on his staff mentioned to us that they didn't like him either. I've actually never seen a positive review of him before. Maybe he got wind of all the negative opinions and actually improved himself.

I was reading over the list of CD's and notice 2 missing names.

Does anyone know if Kieron Buffrey and Joff Eaton are still at RCL.

We enjoyed both of them as CD's on Radiance and Jewell, respectively.

 

And out of curiosity does any one know how often they change CD's and

how often the CD's change ships?

Wow...2 positive opinions in one night. I definitely think Jimmy found out about the negative buzz and reinvented himself, so to speak. At least now, if he is on the next cruise I'm on, I won't be as disappointed.

Thanks truffles....I wonder if Simeon Baker (Mariner) will bring the Mariner over to Texas and stay on for our Nov. cruising:D

 

My understanding is that Paul Rutter will likely bring Mariner back and stay on in Texas for a while. I wish I could squeeze in a Mariner cruise this winter. It's been a few years since we had him as a CD and we always enjoyed him.

Not sure that Gordon Whatman can be on Liberty at the moment as 18 hours ago he arrived in Miami having left Legend in Shanghai on 17th Sept for a 3 day break before flying to the US. Trying to find out who will be our CD on our Liberty TA in 37 days time. Gordon was on Liberty in May 2011.

We sailed on the Explorer in May and loved Jimmy Rhodes. Out of our 24 cruises on Royal he is the best cruise director we have ever had.....Loved his show and his staff.

He must have changed his tune. It's always good to see that the CDs are changing for the better.

 

I forget her name, but his assistant (activities manager) was a blonde girl from Australia I believe and she was an excellent compliment to him. They paired so well together, perhaps that's what made him so good (they appeared together a lot of the times).

Her name is Jacinta White. She was definitely paired perfectly with Jimmy. :)
