Pride Disembarking Time?

I am picking someone up on Sunday when they get back on the Pride. My question is, what time does the Pride normally disembark? I don't want her to have to wait around and we have a 2 hour drive to Baltimore.

THANKS!!

Is she doing self disembarkation or waiting for her number to be called. Probably anywhere from 8 am to 10 am.

I set a record and was off my last cruise at 6:44 am .. never will happen again, but it was nice.

I was doing self disembarkation of course .. but that is still very lucky and early.

One of you would most likely will be waiting for the other. I would have her call when she can see the bridge over the bay in the distance. That's about 45 min's from port arrival. It will be at least an hr after docking even if she tries to hurry off the ship.

was that out of baltimore??

I was having the same problem with disembarkation since I needed to buy train tickets for coming home.

This port is craziness for getting people off.

I think it would be better for your friend to wait for you-- then you waiting for them-- is there someplace you can park-- for free while you wait???

I like Valleys suggestion.

Just got off Pride this Sunday (9th) before 9 BUT I was doing self assist, was one of the first 40 or so people off the boat

and we missed Freeport so Pride was in early.

Look up past threads and you will hear horror story's of Pride getting in late and people only getting off mid afternoon.

We took taxi to our hotel , picked up car (we had a stay n park deal) and got on the 95 North. We were able to see a huge line

of people disembarking from the Pride at about 10:30ish. I'm sure final stragglers didn't clear customs till at least noon

Good luck

Propulsion problem seems to still be there-- as is the problem of disembarking.

Above poster was off by 9 but that was self assist. Usually by 9am on a ship half the ship shoulda been offloaded by that time

Do you have any facts ? Itinerary shows a 9:00 A.M. arrival at port. If someone is off by 9:00 I think the ship got in quite early so I doubt propulsion is much of a concern. Disembarking process is a different story.

I think the bulk of their late arrivals were propulsion related and that was why dry dock schedule had to be moved up. Haven't heard of any late arrivals since.

BTW - I am a newbie and it wasn't terrible but there still is a noticeable vibration on the Pride.

We felt it both in MDR and in our aft cabin on the 6th deck. Not horrible but not nothing either.

You could really see the liquid in the water glasses vibrate.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking we should be there around 9am. The port website says there is a "pick up" parking lot, so that's what I'm planning on,

I dropped her off on Sunday and had to fight the urge to steal her passport & boarding pass...I wanted on that ship!!!! Then she texted me from their first stop in Port Canaveral and told me they sailed through the snow storm! I decided that's not my idea of a fun cruise. LOL

Debarkation on the Pride is as unpredictable as the wind. We've sailed five times, and three of the sailings have involved some sort of delay (once due to customs, twice a required change to the gangway because of weather related issues). The primary reason that it's unpredictable is that nearly everyone self-debarks. It literally becomes a free-for-all, so if you're willing to fight the crowds at the first moment that a deck is called you can be off of the ship right away...if you wait for your deck to be called...it can be hours.

Even with priority debarkation we've found ourselves caught in a fracas. It's one area where the Pride needs some serious fine-tuning. I would try to arrive at 9-9:30 and then hang out at a diner and have a nice breakfast. Drive over when you get the call that she's headed to customs. You don't say where you're coming from, but there are plenty of places a half hour from the pier in every direction.

I am just off the Pride and I kept the debarkation information flyer they put in our stateroom the night before debarkation. I cannot scan but here is the basic info:

Self Assist:

Deck 1 9:15

Deck 8 9:45

Deck 4 10:15

Deck 7 10:25

Deck 5 10:35

Deck 6 10:50

Regular Debarkation (they pick up your luggage the night before)

Zones 1 - 2 11:00-11:10

Zones 4 - 5 11:10-11:20

Zones 6 - 9 11:20-11:30

Zones 10-15 11:30-11:50

Zones 16-19 11:40-11:50

Zones 20-23 11:50-12:00

Zones 24-26 12:00-12:10

This is what they quote. Everyone knows that Pride has a variable arrival time though it is getting better. We got in about 30 minutes early and we got off 30 minutes early too (according to schedule).

Guests can stay on the ship until the last call if they like...at least they would be warm. There are also heaters in an outside waiting area and when the building blocks the wind it is not too bad. Customs is easy to get through so maybe if you call them 45 minutes out then they could make their way off the ship and that would be pretty close. There is a waiting area for cars that are picking up guests so if you are early you will not have to drive around to wait...you can wait there.

Hope this helps.

read the past few weeks reviews- Propulsion is still the problem which many people speak of.

There is a noticable shuddering in the aft of the ship

I am not stating the embarkation/disembarkation has anything at all to do with that problem.

If waters are a problem. or its foggy-- you will get in later.

Just read the past months reviews its all over the place.

I'm not about to square of with someone with 35K + posts ! But, the posts I saw about dry dock involved propulsion and minor upgrades in casino. You don't pull a ship out of service and cancel customers plans for minor carpeting and some TV changes. I fully expect that the propulsion work done corrected it's low knots problem but failed to rid the ship of vibration. I will have my own opinion on her vibes aft as we have 3 cabins coming up on Panorama aft including wrap, OS, reg balcony plus another one way up front on deck 8. I hope ours is 3 weeks late getting in :).

Thanks for this info.

We are on Deck 6 on the Pride this coming April and I'm somewhat nervous b/c according to this, if we self assist, we won't be getting to our parked car at the hotel until 11:30 at the earliest. Since we have a 10-hour drive ahead of us, and we have school the very next day, I am beginning to think this was a mistake.

Last year spring break, returning home from Mobile (Fantasy), someone decided to do road work & lane restrictions on Interstate 65, and thus we arrived at home at 1:30 a.m. What was supposed to be an 11-hour drive, turned into a 16-hour drive. We were so exhausted and were lucky we made it home in one piece.

I’m wondering if we can get going earlier.

I am not one for squaring off either- (I have no life as you can see)

but if you look at the roll call boards and ask in there-- you will see that the shuddering is still a huge problem.

With expectations comes disappointments- You state you expect that is was done-- and people in the last 4 weeks have stated it was not.

I dont think the shuddering is felt up on the 8th deck- i thought it was only in the dining room up through deck 5/6

Self debarkation is an unregulated mess. As soon as they start the process you can join the sea of humanity. Nobody will check to see which deck you belong to. If you stay behind and wait you will notice that every other passenger apparently booked deck one, LOL!

interesting. I think this cruise I will have to do the self embarkation.

Curious now-- since this is my 9th cruise and platinum kicks in after the 9th cruise is taken-- do you think I could use my new status to get off that ship or do I gotta be ON the 10th cruise for platinum to kick in>?>

Just a little update -- my cousin emailed me today and said that they are doing self-assist and that they are starting at 8am. I'm skeptical, but plan on being over there around 8 just in case. If not, I'll have a book to read and my son and brother in law for company.

I sailed the Pride in September. I had a aft balcony cabin. The last two

nights of the cruise the shuddering was so bad it was hard to sleep. It

was noticable in the dining room also. The powers that be, kept saying

our late arrival (12 noon) was because of the rough seas. I've been on

enough cruises to know what rough seas were, and I think Carnival would

not admit that something was wrong with the ship. I even mentioned it

in the e-mail survey I got after I got home. And Carnival kept saying

it was the weather.

Carnival would never lie.:D

I woulds say that the vibration that we had was nothing like you experienced but I'm not sure the issue is fully resolved.
