OK. Lanyard. I know it may be convenient

Lost the CC lanyard long ago, but still use my blue CC fannypack with CC logo on it!

I love the lanyard for the cards. If not wearing it on my neck, I tie it to a belt loop, or the strap of the cute purse I'm wearing for the night and stick it in the purse or pocket. I am one who will lose my card if it is not attached in some way! Fanny pack is for excursions...wear it in the front to avoid pick-pocketers. I do sometimes bring the fanny pack up on deck, but not around my waist...carry it like a purse over my shoulder.

I really don't care what people think about my lanyard or fanny pack. It is all about convenience and security for me.

but don't you think it just looks so stupid hanging around your neck?

OK. Just had to let it out.

I guess I would wonder why you care what other people are doing.....??

Seriously??

Is this what you spend your time doing while you're on vacation??

Focus on having a good time and don't be so concerned what other people are doing/wearing....

it looks alot better than a fanny pack on me. i use a small purse that has a long handle to go around my chest. i need too carry more than just the card since i travel alone and dont have the best purse for my things ---

''' a husbands pocket ''' :D

I am a lanyard guy.I lose everything so if its not attached around my neck it would be gone.My mom made me wear them mitts with a string attached to them so I would not loose them as a kid.Maybe thats where I get it from???

I don't care who knows it.....I LOVE MY LANYARD and wear it anytime I'm out of my cabin except at dinner I tuck it inside my little purse. :D

I wear one proudly.

I also wear Crocs for the same reason: I go for comfort and accessibility over what some random person on a cruise thinks of my attire!

Yes!!!! Another Croc lover!!!! Crocs and lanyards....perfect for vacation relaxation.:D

Always wear it. Kids always wear theirs. WTH, you're on a cruise- where else are you going to put your lifeline? No pockets in bathing suits- and it's just easier to always know where it is. Even if I take it off (ex: at dinner) it's a bigger thing, and easier to remember, than a little credit card. The Camp Carnival ones can be detached for easy swiping.

Always wear a lanyard.

Actually.... I have had different experiences with my lanyards. I have had people stop me on embarkation day saying what a great idea they are, asking where I bought them and if they sell them on the ship. :D

I personally can't stand the thought of rooting around in my bra looking for my card while I am in line to pay for something. :o Let alone it being a warm day and have the card stick to the girls.

Amen!!! I carry, and wear, and do what pleases me...don't like it? Dont Look!

My wife bought me a waist pack about two years ago - now that I'm used to it, it's the best thing I can think of. I'm not walking around with lumps of keys, change, and wallet in my pockets, it's all right there ready to grab if I'm heading out in a hurry, and there's room for extra stuff I might pick up while shopping. I usually just throw the strap over one shoulder and let it hang when I'm in-and-out of the car for example, or I hook it around my waist when I'm going to be walking or standing for a long time.

It seems like one needs a player's card at all of the casinos these days, so when we're playing, I have them all on one of those springy lanyards like you get in the casinos on board, and either attach it to the waist pack if I have it, or a belt loop if I'm "running light." If your trousers happen to have a watch pocket, the card(s) fit in there perfectly when you're between machines.

On a cruise, where I might unexpectedly get dunked, I wear one of the beach safes around my neck with S&S, credit card, passport card, and some bills in it. It seals closed, so things don't get wet, it floats, (unless you really overload it, say with a lot of change) and it's not so big that it gets in my way.

Personal preferences...

I didn't read what everybody had to say but this is why I wear a lanyard with my I.D. and ship card so when I am returning to the ship I don't have to search my tote bag for my I.D. and ship card. That really slows down the line when you have to search your bag.

I hide my lanyard under my t-shirt and wear a lose blouse over the t-shirt when I get into a port.

Lets say for example: That there are several ships in port and you fall down and pass out in port. Someone steals your tote bag so the only I.D. you have is on your landyard. The kind people who will help you out will see which ship I am on. That is why I wear a lanyard in the ports.

On the cruiseship I always carry a tote bag with meds, cosmetics, tissues, a bottle of water, etc. and I tie my lanyard to the tote bag.

The OP must be a person who carries his ship card in a wallet that can be stolen along with his/her wallet.

Lanyards can be handy, but I just found something better.

Apparently, there is a new invention, where convenient storage areas can now be designed directly into clothing. I know it sounds like science fiction, but I actually have some of these. Pants, shirts, jackets....just about anything you want can be found with these little pouches built right in. I just put my card right there!

If you have problems finding clothing with this feature, one place you might try looking is a store. Yes, I've found these very articles at stores.

Life in the 21st Century is truly amazing!

Not all articles of cruise clothing have these convenient storage areas. A woman wearing a bikini on the lido deck does not have pockets. Go back to your store!

Same here. I got some nice beaded ones from e-bay for DD(14) and myself and we have had many people comment on how cute they were. I get DS(16) his favorite sports teams lanyards and DH uses his wallet.

I wonder if you bought them from me? I make them and sell them on Ebay.

I have been stopped at least twice on every cruise I have been on and asked where I bought it. I used to bring a lot of them with me, cuz I would give a couple away to new friends. :D

You must be kidding:confused:

Wallet being stolen? I agree with the op and I am a girl and I don't carry mine in my wallet:confused: I choose not to wear the laynard around my neck because I think it looks silly;)

Agree, that's why we get the retractable lanyards at staples. Has a clip on the back so I can clip it to my beach bag, pocket or belt loop. Simple and secure.

I have one of those too, but use it at work only.

For our cruises, I have used a "D clip" similar to one used by climbers. It clips onto belt loops, or beach bags, and it's easy to find. I get the Purser's desk or Casino to punch a hole in my Sail and Sign card, then attach the card to the ring part.

To the poster who stated his / her lanyard had both her S&S card and her safe card on it...wouldn't want to lose it ! Someone would have access to your room and your safe for who knows how long before you notice it missing. (I know it doesn't have the cabin number on it, but I wouldn't be willing to take the chance!)

oops...forgot to attach the D ring image !

If you did make them, thanks. We love ours and as I said we get many who comment on how cute they are. I was thinking of looking for more for upcoming cruises to give us more variety.
