We are sailing out of Miami in July and have not sailed from this port before, we will be VIP since we are in a suite.

What is the VIP check procdures at that port like? Do they have a seperate room?

Thanks for the info!

Yes, separate room (off to the left) and a separate line to go through security. Enjoy the suite and the cruise!

Very nice separate 'suite' of rooms (with cold lemonade and paper cups!).... Look for the VIP 'entry' to the security screening area - no separate 'machine' but you will go to the front of line for screening....then up the escalotor to the VIP check in Lounge!

I fly in the morning of my cruise, non stop from LaGuardia, land in MIA around 10am, roll my carry from the plane on down to the taxi stand and I'm in VIP lounge by 11AM and having lunch on the Lido Deck before noon. Is that cool or what!

I love MIA VIP!

Miami VIP is very efficient and quick.

Make sure the embarkation staff is aware you are VIP. It's displayed on your boarding pass and on all luggage tags.

It's very easy to get in the wrong line since POM is so busy.

I have to respectfully disagree though that Miami has the best VIP lounge. I will give it second best. Port of San Juan's VIP area is tops. It's a bit smaller but they have trays of cookies for you to indulge in. And I love FREE!!!!!

Enjoy your cruise.

Ohhhhh but it is very nice to be ther early!

We arrived at about 10:30 for our cruise in March and we were VIP due to our suite. We went to the VIP security line and once our docs were looked at we were brought to the front of the security line to cut everyone else. After security we went up to the VIP Lounge.

We were greeted at the door and since there were a couple of people ahead of us - although we could see no line because....the staff person took our check in paperwork and told us to relax and have a seat and some lemonade. We waited in comfy chairs and they called us up a few minutes later when they were ready to process our paperwork. Then we went back and sat and waited. It was fun because we were chatting with other people and it was all so relaxed!

At 11:15 a staff member told us that we could board and we were all escorted from the Lounge over to the escalator to head up.

This is what the Lido Deck looked like when we got up there.......

It was a wonderful experience and a very nice start to our cruise! Luckily I am sailing on my 9th on SUnday and my companion is already Platinum and after this so will I which means I will always get to experience this in Miami
