MrFunInTheSun Posted August 18, 2011 #379 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Hello everyone. . . Today has been a relaxing day for me. I was able to take a long nap, and watch True Grit on TV. I did end up at the Back Stage tour this morning. The Bridge tour is scheduled for Friday, as well as a Galley Tour. The Captain suggested that we were only 180nm from Boston, and we are scheduled to pick up the Pilot at 7:30AM. The sun is out and passengers are involved with dozens of events. . . More pics later, but here is our current location. Thanks for the nice comments. . . Radio ;);) Our Location . Always love reading your reviews. They always make me feel like I'm on the ship with you and crew. Enjoy the rest of your journey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Radio, I am very impressed with your reporting live on the Enchantment. It even made me want to take this cruise. Your pictures are professional and your casual reporting style captivates people to get involved with the cruise. I wish you well and I look forward in the future to read more of your adventures. cruisemeister8 Posted August 18, 2011 #381 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Back tonight to catch up on the last few days of your trip, Radio. Looks like you've been having fun while someof the rest of us have been at work. I don't know if it was the moose poop or the bagpipers that sold it; but I definitely want to go on this trip now. Will just have to pick a year. Actually, that Bar Harbor Inn was so beautiful, I think I could spend a whole vacation there alone. It reminded me of "Somewhere In Time." In the beginning of this report, you mentioned that your brother was along. Is he going out to enjoy all these things with you, or are you flyin' solo tourist? Rare Radio Posted August 18, 2011 Author #386 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Good morning from Boston. . .Day 7 of “LIVE” from the Enchantment of the Seas. We picked up the Pilot this morning at 7:30 AM. Our clocks have been reset back to Eastern Time. We made it to the Black Falcon Pier at Cruise Port Boston at 8AM. We have Caribbean Princess at our bow from NYC. The ship has just been cleared for passengers to go ashore at 8:30AM. I should be getting off of the ship soon, and I’m not entirely sure where I will go, but I may end up down at the waterfront by the Aquarium. It is a short cab ride (10min). All passengers must be back on the ship by 3:30 this afternoon. When we pulled in to dock this morning it was nice to see sunny skies. The forecast for today is sunny skies with temps up to 85F this afternoon. Here are a few pics from last night, and this morning. . . Thanks for tuning in ! Radio The Viking Crown Lounge just before sunset. Rare Radio Posted August 18, 2011 Author #394 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Hello everyone. . . I had a very nice time in Boston. . .but as most ports go, I would loved to have had more time. I just returned to the ship at 3PM, and we had to be back at 3:30. They had a pretty nice deal for the Quincy Hall Shuttle that would take you down to QH, and the shuttle returns every 15 min. This can be purchased in the terminal, and they will put the charge on your Sea Pass Card. It took about 15 minutes for the Bus to get into the city as there was a little traffic that held us up. . . I never take buses, or go on excursions. Somehow I convinced myself to do this. It was a nice ride though. When they dropped us of at Quincy Market, a walked through there for a bit, and it was really nice. There were shops of all kinds, and you could purchase gifts, clothes, food, or souvenirs. I could have spent all day here, but I had to move on to see what I could see. I went over to the waterfront, and bought a ticket for the Constitution Cruise. It was 12Noon, and the cruise was at 12:30PM. . .Hmmm. . . time to stop in at Starbucks in the Marriott for come delicious enjoyment. Nice. . . I should get a cold bottle of water as well. We went over to the Charlestown Naval yard that took us 45 min to get there. It really only takes 10 minutes, but the tour included showing us some history and accomplishments of Boston Harbor. The Constitution is still commissioned, as they take her out 1 day a year on July 4th. It was nice to see the museum, and the naval yard is an active Naval Base. While I was there, about 100 Chief Petty Officer cadet were receiving the last few weeks of training. I returned to Long Wharf, and look at my watch. . .uh oh. . .it’s 2:30, and I have to be back at 3:30. The Line was very very long for the bus to bring me back. . . I got worried, and I jumped in a taxi, and made it back in time. ($12 fare) Maybe I’ve been in the stone ages, but I have never been in a taxi that had a TV, GPS, and Credit card terminal. . . I have heard of them, but never used one. It was kind of neat being able to look on a screen and see where you are at. . . I know, I know. . .these have been out for awhile, it’s just that I have never tried one. We will be leaving any minute, and I need to get this posted before we leave, so the internet will be faster. So here are a few pics from my day in Boston. Thanks for tuning in. . . Radio The Gangway was down on Deck 2 Back on board by 3:30. . . I wish it was 6:30 We were docked at the old section of the Terminal. . .in a big warehouse. Princess was at the newer section, rebuilt in 2010 I can’t believe that I talked myself into taking a bus downtown We were dropped off at Quincy Market . Rare Radio Posted August 18, 2011 Author #395 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Here are a few more pics. . . Thanks for tuning in Radio Boston Harbor Cruises is located on Long Wharf, just beyond the Boston Marriott Waterfront. You could buy tickets for many of the attractions here at Boston Harbor Cruises Legal Seafood seems to be everywhere in Boston. . . My tour boat for the day was Majesty.(A little smaller than Majesty of the Seas) This boat held a lot of passengers. We make it over to the Charlestown Navy Yard . Rare Radio Posted August 18, 2011 Author #396 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Here are just a few more. . . Boston has made me hungry tonight. I will try to get more pics up later. . . Radio I loved seeing the USS Constitution We were allowed to board the ship and take a tour. I will wear them. . .I promise. These were Chief Petty Officer cadets, just before a drill. I have never been in a Taxi, with TV, GPS locator, and Credit card terminal . . . I make it back on time. . .There is a small line, but it moved quickly. .
