Finding price drops outside of CFV

Do any of you use sources other than Carnival Fare Viewer to find your price drops?

I do. Carnival does not list Military Rates on their website so I use a website that does list Military rates.

 

I also prefer the easiness of another website since Carnival put in the code you have to type in...I always type it wrong LOL.

TA sites cannot advertise lower prices .. so it doesnt matter which site you use to track the price.

I too hate those code things... sometimes they mush the letters so close together.

 

I have been doing mock bookings lately because the fare viewer has been acting up.

Evidentally my post got removed, so I will be a little more vague...

 

There are websites out there that will email you if there is a price drop...just put in the information for the sailing that you are interested in and they will have their system watch it for you. ;)

I don't really know what "the fare viewer" is so I just make mock bookings on the regular Carnival site.

I have already been able to move up to a higher fare category and can easily see price changes so not sure why I'd need to use something else??:confused:

It is supposed to be easier. Although with the new codes it can be a pain.

Our upcoming cruise will be our first time on Carnival. I like the fare viewer a lot - nobody else has something like this.

 

We've had 3 price drops on the inside cabin, and one on the balcony thanks to CFV!!

I think they put those new codes in because many many months ago there were a few threads on CC were folks were touting some program they created to auto check Carnival's prices.

Fare viewer is needed if you have 3 or more in your cabin. It was started when carnival.com started averaging prices for families to make it look like pax 1 and 2 were lower with 3 or more in a cabin .. but the problem is these are fake prices you cant use to price match. You need the actual price.

 

Im solo, so I dont need fareviewer either.

Sometimes it is just plain old easier to see pricing and to get to it on TA sites than on Carnival's. As Firefly said, there cannot be any pricing difference, but it is the ease in which to get to the pricing which is easier on some TA sites....so I mostly do my price checking on those easier sites.
