Mike,

I love your reviews. The pictures really make them fun.

To oncruisecontrol- you should definitely visit Canada and take a cruise there. We did a cruise up the East Coast of the US to Canada last year and really enjoyed it. We are a bit biased, as we love to travel to Canada any chance we get. It is a fun place to go with incredibily friendly people.

I'm rarely on this board because I don't have a cruise lined up (so sad when that happens) but I'm glad to see another review by you!! It's great that your family is doing well. I'm shocked to see how much your kids have grown! The Glory was my first cruise but I've never had the chance to visit the east coast although i always hear great things about it....looking forward to the rest of your review!

On a different note, when the cruise ships first started coming to Saint John in the mid 1990s some of us Mounties would volunteer to dress up in our red serge and meet the cruisers getting off the ship. I remember back then thinking someday my family will be on one of these ships. Never thought I would be getting off in Saint John. ;)

Mike,

We took the Triumph on the same cruise in mid 90's. I recall some RCMPs dockside. Who knows! Could have been you!

After the Past Guest Party we returned to our room for a rest. I usually take this time to write in my journal and Tracy relaxed with her book.

We all went to dinner at 5:45 p.m. Wait time 5-10 minutes. No food porn, the kids hate it when I take a photo of their plate. Sometimes I let them have their way.

At 8:00 pm Tracy and I went to the Amber Palace for the 8:30 early seating of ‘The Magic and Dance of Justin Illusion’. You have to get there early to get good seats. He performed approximately 10 illusions, half of them were very good. I was unable to take photos due to copyright laws, all I have photos of the lounge filling up and of the performers after the show.

After the show we spent some time in the Colors Lobby listening to Latin Fiesta with the Shot Trio.

Afterwards we went to ‘Creams’ for a treat. Carrot Cake & Cheesecake

Cruising1864.jpg

‘Creams’ happens to be next to the O2 club and most nights we would sit there having a drink or a treat so we could spy on the kids. The only times we would see them was at dinner or when we would run into them.

Yay!! I was so excited to see this review tonight. I LOVED your other reviews. You've inspired me to try to write a photo review of my Magic cruise coming up in September, although I'm afraid it will take me forever to write. :o

Thank you valsdancin, hope you have a wonderful cruise and have lots to write about. :)

Just happened to find this thread after looking over my past subscribed threads and clicked on your posts just to see if I had missed anything . I am glad to have found this new review and just finished catching up. Your pics are great as usual and add so much to the review making me feel as if I were there along with you guys. Your pics are just the right size as mine are always too large when posting. What photosharing site do you use? Can't wait for more !:):):)

Thank you travellink, I subscribe to Photobucket, I pay about $25 a year. The free version only allow for so many photos. Mike

Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. I am going to send this link to a good friend and neighbour, her daughter is a dancer on the Glory and you got her in a couple shots. Unfortunately we didn't get to see her dance, her contract started the week before we boarded and she was still in the reversal stage. How about you go on the Victory and do a review before we go in February :-)

Thank you hockeyluver. We had a hard time deciding between Miracle and Victory for our next cruise. Wanted to do both before they left New York and San Juan respectively, however Miracle won out. :)

What a wonderful start to your review!

I stumbled across your b2b2b2b yesterday and read the entire review last night!!! It was so much fun, and I teared up a the "proper proposal"!!!

I was super excited to see another review when I was browsing tonight!! I'm especially excited because of the food pictures from the steakhouse ... I must admit, I drooled a little!!

Looking forward to reading more as the days go on!

Happy Sailing

Charlene

PS - Did you book the steakhouse prior to boarding, or when you first got on the ship?? Just wondering if it matters when you book in order to get the free bottle of wine for dining in there on the first night! Thanks for the info :D

Thank you Charlene, we booked when we first got onboard. I didn't have time to book prior to the cruise since we booked it the week before departure and had a lot of things to do. In other words it doesn't matter for the free wine. :p

Hi Mike! :D

So nice to see you back on the boards posting an AWESOME review!

You write the BEST reviews! I have enjoyed them all and enjoying this one as well!

You will LOVE the Miracle, so far my favorite Carnival Ship! Many people complain about the grapes in the diningroom, I loved them! Have a great time on the Miracle! Are your kids going as well? or just you and Tracy?

Thank you AngelKappie, nice to hear from you again. Yes the kids are coming, they love cruising and plus we don't trust them enough to leave them behind. ;)

Thanks again for the great pictures and review. Just a couple of questions.... I noticed the Carnival mugs/tumblers in one of your photos. Do you know if these were included in the soda package purchase? We've been trying to figure this out without much luck. Also, were the Creams desserts an additional charge or were they included with a coffee purchase? Thanks for your help. Trying to plan for our August 6th trip on the Glory!

I'll help with the tumblers, the regualr soda ones are $4.95 if you purchase w/ the soda package & they're quite nice, we bought 7 of them. They also have a coffee one @ creams for $8.95 & it included a free hot beverage w/ puchase. We bought 2 of those, again very nice.

Thursday, June 21st, 2012- Halifax

I got up just before 7:30 am and went to decks 9 and 10 forward to get photographs of us arriving in Halifax. I proceeded to Panorama Deck (10) forward, port side to the so called secret door at the end of the long corridor of cabins. They also had a door on the starboard side but it was locked.

Deck 10 forward is above the Bridge and juts out of both side to give you a frontal and side views of the ship.

Looking forward, you can also see part of deck 9 which is also accessible.
