mom22tinks Posted December 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2012 For those of you who have recently cruised, I ask... are chair hogs still an issue or is Carnival still policing this?
Eng23 Posted December 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I would like to hear some info on this too. Maybe the recent lack of Chair Hog threads means the policing effort is working. :D
LuckyZ Posted December 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2012 No issue
bar1068 Posted December 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Not even close to an issue, cruised last month.
tef43 Posted December 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2012 It depends on the ship. On the Valor in October, the deck staff chose to ignore the posted regulations, as a result, so did the passengers.
Pom Lover Posted December 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Just off the Breeze yesterday and there was absolutely NO ISSUE with chair hogs. The staff were using the sticker system and it definitely worked because passengers were not saving chairs. We never had an issue finding deck chairs on the lido deck by the pool no matter when we went. It was great!
robin13 Posted December 10, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Was not an issue on the 11/24 Breeze sailing. I sat at the Aft pool three times and had no problem finding chairs.

ltcal94 Posted December 10, 2012 #10 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I am not ready to claim that the war against chair hogs is over. It still really depends on the ship and it's staff. On the Fascination in September I feel it was well managed :), however on my recent cruise on Conquest, there was still quite abit of chair hogging going on and I did not see the crew really looking out for it.:(
LizaMM Posted December 10, 2012 #11 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Thanks for this thread. Hoping it is better than in the past on my upcoming Breeze cruise. Actually, on my last cruise on the Miracle there was some enforcement going on on Serenity Deck and that was before the official announcement so I am hoping that it is better! satxdiver Posted December 10, 2012 #12 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Just got off the Magic Sunday and chair hogs was not a problem. There were always loungers in the sun and chairs in the shade available.
Rare sparks1093 Posted December 10, 2012 #13 Share Posted December 10, 2012 There were plenty of deck chairs on the Pride in October.

cruzn buckeye Posted December 10, 2012 #15 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Worked great on the Liberty in September! Hopefully, on those few ships that the workers are not taking care of this, it will be brought to the beards attention. I have to say, this is one of the best things that Carnival has recently done for their guests... everyone has an opportunity to use a chair, not just the shoes and oranges :D
MrPete Posted December 10, 2012 #16 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I keep reading both, and success or failure is based on whether the chairs were being policed. I wish those that are would not would start posting to get those shops engaged.
tennisandhearts Posted December 10, 2012 #17 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Just got off the Magic yesterday & there was NO PROBLEM. I was very impressed that you could always find a chair even in a prime location at any time. However, when I was on the Dream in July...well, that was another story. It was impossible to find anything. The crew did not remove things that were on chairs.
Bigtex1622 Posted December 10, 2012 #18 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Just got off the Magic yesterday & there was NO PROBLEM. .... They leave me good books. just kidding
jlk806 Posted December 10, 2012 #19 Share Posted December 10, 2012 On The Ecstacy in July we never had a hard time finding 6 chairs together...though we didnt try to sit RIGHT by the pool, up a deck or the top deck by the mini golf was where we preferred to be.. Brenna's Mom1 Posted December 10, 2012 #20 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Shoot, Now I have to bring my OWN reading materials.:DI think of chair hogs as librarians ! They leave me good books. just kidding  Yup, you can get a whole shoe closet full of flip-flops, lots of nice dry towels, and some suspect reading material. I just wish they would leave their bottles of booze, their designer sunglasses, or better yet their I-pods, I-pads etc. Nope, just cheap shoes, cheap magazines, free food and cruise line towels and the occasional ball cap from a business no one has ever heard of. lorib927 Posted December 10, 2012 #21 Share Posted December 10, 2012 We were on Freedom November 11 and Sensation December 6-no trouble on either one finding suitable deck chairs. We had more trouble finding Serenity area seats on Freedom but others were available. No problem at all finding Serenity seats on the Sensation this past weekend. senrab Posted December 10, 2012 #24 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Glad to hear that chair hogging policies are being enforced more often than not, but I'm having a hard time actually finding the policies. What are the posted policies?
