RE:Casino Credit

On my last cruise I got a letter from my host that gave me cash for my next cruise in June. She told me that when they pull my play I would get the drinks on us card automatically.

Talked to Marty Thursday and she said it was over 6000 points to qualify for automatic Drinks on Us card. I didn't quite make it but she did say I would get $50.00 casino cash and gifts in the cabin! She was a really nice lady and a pleasure to speak with.

ATL2LAS, I would call and ask them to send you an email confirming that you are suppose to get the Drinks on Us Card automatically.

Stange thing Vidimom I spoke to Marty on Monday and she told me that in order to get the Drinks on Us card upon boarding you had to have 5000 points or more on your last cruise!!! She also told me that because I was getting cash and the drinks on us card that I wasn't entitled to any gifts in the cabin... Crazy how the same person can tell us two totally different things... Hope you got it in writing...

It may be that whomever you spoke to didn't really know and was just trying to explain the inexplicable. If attaining the Drinks On Us card were based on losing, what happens when you win? Doesn't make sense; it has to be total dollars at risk; as you mentioned, this is a lot more difficult to track at a table than at a slot machine.

My wife and I both got the card on our recent sailing on the Valor, mine on the second (or third) day, her on the fourth (or fifth - the days tended to blur). In our case we both were winning up to that point, and ended the sailing up as well.

This is most definitely the best advice you can give!

Hmmm. Maybe you are right but I spoke to Michael and I thought he was the head hancho. It could also be that they don't want everyone knowing the exact formula as I am sure there would be a lot of discontent if someone knew they had they had lost a certain amount but the pit bosses weren't tracking them well. Either way, If you are playing for a drink card you aren't really a winner anyway, even if your monitary gain says differently, because in reality, you could just as easily have lost.

Funny thing was the first drink I ordered with my "drinks" card was a bottle of water. The pit boss gave me a hard time about it but it was 10 in the morning for crying out loud.

It could also make a difference if you bet high stakes or otherwise I am sure. We normally bet $15 to $25 per hand so we are not considered high stake even though we play a minimum of 4-5 hours per day. Maybe different formulas for different risks? Who knows, but thanks for shooting the theory I was given out of the water. LOL. Just teasing of course. Have fun in the casino.

May I ask which number you are using to get in contact with the Ocean Players Club. We've tried the 866-299-5859 number and have had no luck.

Thanks.

I've talked to Marty in the past also, she is no help at all. If you get her, hang up and try to call again and get another host. I'm not happy with the Carnival rules!!! I cruised on Magic in April raked up 4700 pts, cruised on Triumph (5 day) only made 2900 pts. I've cruised twice in a year and they still won't let me start with the drink program. So, I've decided I'm not going to hit the casino when I cruise next month as much. I might even call back and try to get another host. They need to take care of their players!!! We take care of them!!!

When I called regarding our upcoming cruise in Feb, I was told I would be getting $150 in casino cash and DH would get $125. I also inquired about a basket because I was promised one in October and never got it. They told me I would get one but I'll just wait and see.

When we cruised in Oct. DH got his "drinks" card day two and I got mine day four. I asked the players club how they calculated that because we both had spent close to the same amount gambling. According to what I was told, if you don't play slots but play the table games as we do, you accumulate 1500 points after a loss of $2000. I didn't lose as much as DH the first couple of days though I did overall after seven. That is why my card was delayed. So the magic number at the tables to get your "free" drinks is the loss, (not play) of $2000. Doesn't matter, I wasn't playing to win free drinks.

The points are calculated differently for slots I understand. Slots are also easier to track if one uses their card every time they play. At the tables you are at the mercy of the pit bosses and how well they keep up with you, so make certain you make yourself known and play nice.

All that I have played has been slots. I was just wondering. I guess it won't hurt to call and ask before the next cruise.

I cruised on the Magic a month ago (early December) and received the Drinks on Us card the first day because (according to the Executive Casino Host), I had 5,000 points on my previous cruise.

I also accumulated that many on the December cruise, so I will get the card in April when I am back on the Magic. The host also gave me a letter on the last sea day with a phone number and code. He told me to call before April and give them the code so they'll know what comps to give me.

The casino staff on that December cruise was the BEST of all my cruises. Very friendly, professional, and fun!

Just called and asked about what perks we qualified for and was informed we did not qualify for anything. Odd thing is we booked using the casino rate and also received a $50 cash credit coupon for the casino. Apparently that credit is not showing either. Any ideas?

May I ask which number you are using to get in contact with the Ocean Players Club. We've tried the 866-299-5859 number and have had no luck.

Thanks.

Contact Mike Bayona. He's the Lead Casino VIP Coordinator. His number is 1-866-672-2582 Ext 70367.

If you booked a casino rate and they said you would get $50 cash, Mike can verify that. If he does, ask for it in writing just to be safe.

We also booked under the casino rate and he verified that we will be each receiving $50 casino credit when we board. I asked for an e-mail verification and he sent me one.

This is the phone number for the Ocean Players Club

OCEAN PLAYERS-1-888-672-2582

i have tried this number several times (always on hold for over a half hour). Then I try to leave a message by pressing 1 and it says voicemail is full. I have tried the various other numbers listed around here too--either it does the same or you get a carnival rep that transfers you to the same 'hold nightmare'.

Whats the deal? In my previous cruises I have been able to get though, now it just keeps you on hold saying we thank you for your patience.

I just emailed yesterday too, but with this kind of service, I have no confidence anyone will read it.

We sail on the Breeze on 1/13/13 and are looking or any perks available as we have gambled a good amount on our cruises (like a couple thousand dollars each)

I have been calling Ocean Players for 2 days...I have been on hold for as long as 31.30 minutes. I was then, am told it's the wrong dept. I am trying to find out what gift we qualify for. I have spoke with Mike in the past @1-888-672-2582. I have also seen to call 1-866-672-2582, to no avail! Also, 1-800-522-7466. I have spent hours trying to get through to someone...It shouldn't be this difficult. I get global sales, promotions, etc..Can someone please help??? Thanks

On our last Dream cruise we booked at a casino rate. We then received another casino offer that included the same rate, but offered $100 instead of $50 casino cash. I called my then pvp and she said that she changed our booking to reflect the better casino offer. We were not booked early saver and we were before final payment so it should not have been a big deal. I called the players club to see what we qualified for a few weeks prior to our cruise. Michael said that if you book the casino rate, then you are not entitled to anything else. I also double checked my casino cash amount. Of course it had not been changed so I had to call my pvp who after a long hold told me that it was fixed. When I got on the ship they still had me at the lesser cash amount. Even though I had a letter from a pvp supervisor, they would not honor it. Luckily I had kept the offer for the higher amount that came in the mail and they took that. They told me that you should always bring that mail offer with you to ensure that you are given what you were offered. It really shouldn't be this complicated but it is.

My wife and I sailed Carnival a few times until we discovered NCL - if you want casino perks, NCL is the best. Not only do we get our cruises comped, the drink card is waiting for us in our cabin and at the end of the cruise we have recieved anywhere from $50 to $650 off our final bill. We also get one or two specialty dinners comped each cruise plus wine and snacks delivered to our room throughout the cruise. We play a moderate amount of slots between us, the money that we spend is pretty close to what we would pay for all the benefits we are getting. We are not Carnival bashers, we did enjoy the Carnival cruises we took, great ships and crew but lousy casino perks.

I finally got through to Michael this afternoon. We are on the Breeze for 1/13/2013 with a casino rate (which also is an ES rate). My mom and I were each given $75 for the casino with our booking in June, and Michael added $50 each in credits when I called. So we will each get $125.

You can book the casino rate with your cash back and get additional credit from the players club. Its getting through to the players club that was almost impossible. I finally just let the phone be on speaker and stay on hold until they got to me--it took over 45 minutes on this call.

We're having the exact same issues. Guess I'll give it another shot tomorrow.:)
