LandryCyr Posted October 16, 2014 #1378 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Awesome job, thanks. A side issue that I will seek out on my cruise next month is how closely they watch you share drinks. Due to kids being registered in another room, my wife is registered with kids and I am only adult registered in my room. I will buy Cheers program for me and see if I can get her some drinks. She will only have a few drinks per day, so no way it would make sense for both of us to get the program. I will not dribk 15 per day, so I'm hopeful this can be pulled off. I was wondering how it went sharing the Cheers Program with your wife? Difficult, get caught? Thinking of doing the same. Thanks for any info. bigdog1958 Posted October 16, 2014 #1381 Share Posted October 16, 2014 I was wondering how it went sharing the Cheers Program with your wife? Difficult, get caught? Thinking of doing the same. Thanks for any info. The odds are you could get away with sharing. However, if you do get caught, they will probably remove you from the cheers program, and you will lose your money you spent on the program. In theory, they could remove you from the ship as the contract you make with them says, but I doubt that would happen. It comes down to whether you want to take the chance of getting caught, and live with whatever the penalty is.

Mzshll Posted October 17, 2014 #1383 Share Posted October 17, 2014 First I apologize if this question has been asked over the last 60 plus pages. If I buy the cheers package, I know it says soda is included. Is soda free and not counted towards the 15 day limit? Again, I did not see a very clear answer. Also, are you able to get shots as a drink? Thank you all!! PS 24 days till cruising on the Pride after dry-dock!!!!:o:):):o:)

momof3cruisers Posted October 17, 2014 #1385 Share Posted October 17, 2014 We are just back from the Valor last Sat.Price was $43.13 per day per person including gratuities. We did purchased it on day 2 so we paid for 6 day's Total was $517. for 2 people We are not heavy drinkers but still loved the package Match play is definitely included with cheers. Soda was definitely poured in a glass except 2 times I don't drink beer so no answer on the unopened bottles. Curious if you asked for the soda in a can and were told no. I'm hoping to be able to have a couple Cokes on hand in he cabin. Thanks.
Djonemore Posted October 17, 2014 #1386 Share Posted October 17, 2014 Hello everybody I was skimming through the thread to see if I could find an answer, but didn't see much about it. We just got off a Royal Caribbean sailing and they didn't require us to buy a drink package for everybody in the room over 21 (even tho their paperwork said you have to).. Maybe they just didn't enforce it. Is this the case on Carnival? Do they strictly enforce this rule?
figdu Posted October 17, 2014 #1387 Share Posted October 17, 2014 It is strictly enforced! Everyone over 21 must buy.
lele100 Posted October 17, 2014 #1388 Share Posted October 17, 2014 Just wondering if anyone has encountered the cheers program price to be increased ever since they lowered it. I know one of the stipulations is Price adjustments (up or down) implemented on the day of sailing will replace any previously advertised price. Taxes and gratuities are additional. · 3 day cruise: $55 per person/per day · 4 day cruise: $45 per person/per day · 5 day and 6 day cruise: $42.50 per person/per day · 7 day cruise and longer: $37.50 per person/per day

Danacat222 Posted October 19, 2014 #1391 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Can you get the DOD not in the souvenir cup with cheers? Sent from my iPhone using Forums Just back from a 7 night...paid $303 and change for Cheers. You can't use Cheers to buy the drinks in the souvenir cups or glasses. You can buy the cup separately, though. The shots in the MRD (colored shot glasses) you will pay for, can't use Cheers. I asked if I could buy just the glass and was told no. I already have the collection so no big deal, I asked just out of curiosity. Just like anything else though, ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. texas greeneyes Posted October 19, 2014 #1392 Share Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) Sorry, should have typed carnival.com... look at FAQs re: beverage and liquor policy. The stated policy for the Cheers program includes info on drinks in souvenir glasses (no) and who in each cabin must purchase if anyone does (everyone 21 and older). Last time I checked, anyway. Lots of other info too Happy cruising, all! :) Edited October 19, 2014 by texas greeneyes Wrong web address in Subject line

Thanks. Yes I did ask and was told only buy the glass with the Cheers program. I kind of befriended one of the bar tenders at the casino (extra tips) and chatting, so near the end I started getting it unopened. I'm a Dr Pepper fan and Carnival doesn't carry DP so I had already brought some in my cabin

SportyGirl11 Posted October 20, 2014 #1396 Share Posted October 20, 2014 We currently had to book 1 adult with DD (21) and 1 adult with DD (20) once onboard we will be switching cabins so the girls and my husband & I are in the same cabin. My question is DD (21) wants to buy the Cheer's package will she be able to do this without either adult buying the package? My husband & I are just going to pass as we go and our DD (20) is underage. Thanks

CalaDragonflyLady Posted October 20, 2014 #1398 Share Posted October 20, 2014 I just got off the Magic a few weeks ago and purchased the Cheers program. I did not atttempt to use it to buy drinks for another cruiser, I was consistently able to use it to purchase drinks for a Carnival employee (entertainer)......but I also tipped extra. :)

alreadypacked Posted October 21, 2014 #1400 Share Posted October 21, 2014 Hello everybody I was skimming through the thread to see if I could find an answer, but didn't see much about it. Maybe they just didn't enforce it. Is this the case on Carnival? Do they strictly enforce this rule? It is strictly enforced! Everyone over 21 must buy. After a long break from Carnival, cruising other lines (Princess, Royal, & Celebrity), I am back to give Carnival another try. Two of us would like to try "Cheers" for the first time on our upcoming cruise, but we are 3 friends in one room. Two of us drink; the other does not. If the two of us who want the "Cheers" program try to purchase it from the bartender on our own (without our other cabin mate standing there with us), how would the bartender even know there was a third person in our room? Would they really refuse our "Cheers" purchase? Or if they did sell it to the two of us, would they later forcibly charge our friend's Sail-and-Sign for "Cheers" even though she never actually purchased it (In which case, she'd probably want to kill us)? When DH and I cruised Celebrity for the first time a few years ago, they also said both adults in the room had to purchase the drinks program. But DH wasn't drinking on that cruise due to a medical condition, so I went to the bar alone and purchased it for myself. They sold it to me no problem--not a single question asked regarding who was in the cabin with me. Any thoughts?
