Ladies: how do you carry your id card?

The fellas have wallets and/or swimsuits with zippered pockets. But us gals usually carry such things as id cards, cash for tips, chap stick, whatever around in a purse.

Assuming I don't want to lug a purse around with me on a ship (I'll probably take a beach bag into port with me each day, but I'd rather not take one to dinner, the nightly shows, the spa, the casino, etc....), what is the best way you've found to carry your id/room card with you?

Do you use a lanyard, tuck it in a bra, suck it up and carry a purse anyways?

If I don't have my hobbywork tote with me, I use a lanyard.

I usually have my tote with me on sea days though since it has my hobby stuff, my journal, a book, tissues, sunscreen, and a bottle of water. I find a comfortable place and usually stay there for hours.

In the evenings I have a small dressy purse with shoulder strap. The small purse holds my card, tissues, and lip balm.

I use a great badge holder that I got from a business trade show years back. It goes around the neck, and not only does it have a place for the card, but it also has a zippered pouch that's large enough to hold my reading glasses and camera. I've seen similar ones in the gift shops on various cruises, but I don't recall seeing any on my NCL cruises.

At night, I carry my camera in an over-the-shoulder case that also has room for my glasses and lipstick.

I have several over the shoulder purses that I usually use for the casinos so that my hands are free. It can fit my wallet, lip gloss, and my cell phone. You can purchase them at Marshalls or Ross where they range in price from $14.00 and up. I have a few upscale shoulder or cross-body purses from Coach and I love them. Again my hands are free and I can carry quite a few items.

I carry it in my bra, usually with a few dollar bills too. If i'm going into a store or somewhere i'm going to need it out, I just slip it out before I get in there. It's not like i'm standing around digging in my bra to get it out.

The Rack Trap is great for this - fits on your bra and the bills don't get soggy when in hot weather.

I use a Baggallini Teenee bag . I really dislike carrying stuff or any bags, but this one works well. I can wear it under my shirt, cross body - in ports without it showing much under my shirt. I also wear it to amusement parks so its hidden and I dont have to leave it in the cubbies. Its tiny but can fit 2 passports or one pp and one smart phone. It has places for cards and coins as well. For around the ship, if I dont have a pocket then I use my husbands :)

I use a vera bradley zip around id holder. They have a small chain on them and hold some money, ship card and a chap stick. I use a large safety pin and pin the chain to my shorts or in the event of no pockets pin it to the waist band under my tshirt. Mom, grandma and I started this about 4 cruises ago, and they are the best!!!!!

What a great idea!

Good point! On one cruise, I recall replacing my card twice because it kept malfunctioning..finally realized I was the one malfunctioning, by carrying the card next to an eyeglass case that had a little magnet in the clasp!

Now on cruises, I carry the card, glasses, a pen etc in a fabric zippered pouch with a cord, that I hang around my neck. Bought some of these pouches on the ship when we went to Casablanca so they are really pretty silky patterned ones.

Also keep the card away from your cell phone!

In the past I have used lanyards or my camera case. For our next cruise I found a keychain with a clip that I can easily use to fasten it to small purse, beach bag, camera bag, or even a belt loop. I am anxious to try it out to see how well it works for me.

I usually carry a wristlet while on the ship. On excursions we usually take a bookbag. I don't mind carrying it. I did buy a waterproof pouch last year for Hawaii that was big enough to hold my ID, room card, and some cash. It has a strap that you can put around ur wrist, ankle, or I would attach it to my bikini bottom by my hip lol. I think I found it on eBay. Might have cost $5. Used it everyday and it never leaked.
