Rooms on the Lido deck- Good or Bad???

We are thinking of going on the "New" Sunshine in December and someone suggested a room on the Lido deck. I know it is close to everything but is it loud? I know not to be under the Lido or Casino just not sure of being on the deck. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

I love the Lido and it is always my first choice when I am booking a cruise. I have been way down low (too much elevator waiting) and I have been at the top (too much movement) and Lido is JUST RIGHT!!

We always book Lido balcony cabins closest to the pool area as we can get and never had an issue. We sail usually on Conquest class ships and we have our own hallway with a door that keeps it pretty quiet. If you look right or left once your at the big glass doors leading to the lido you will see another door ,if you open that this is where we stay.Perfect spot

Hi. We just upgraded our cabin on the Valor to 9258 but I may rather have one of the ones you're talking about - I think. Can you just confirm for me that it's only a few steps to get from 9293 or 9294 to the outside?

I'm back. I just looked at the deck plan again. It looks like you can go from your cabin directly to the big area in the middle that has the automatic doors.

Yes 9293 or 9294 or a few cabins after you go directly through the glass doors

I wouldnt go past 9277 or 9278 it may be more noisy because their isnt that private hallway

We had one of those on the Dream. Best spot on the ship, close to everything and you don't waste time WALKING though hallway after hallway to get to your room. Booked another on the Valor.

When are you on the Valor? We will be on the Valor, Lido in room 9294 the first room on the left when you go thru the Sliders.

Can't wait.

We have had three inside Lido rooms, two on Princess and the other on the Glory, best sleep, as no sun in the morning, never found it noisy and it was great being close to buffet, pool, hot tubs and movies. I prefer balconies, but if I get an inside, make it on the lido deck.

Thanks for getting back to me. I like the idea of the private hallway and both cabins are available.

Very welcome.Once you book one of these cabins you will not book anywhere else :)

That's what I am afraid of. ;)

We have 9294 on our next cruise. We have a row of cabins on port side and our friends have the same cabins on starboard. They also had those same cabins on our cruise last November. So convenient for the things we like to do.

I guess my days of cheap cruising is over...:p

The only issue with being on Lido Deck is that its High up, the higher you are the more movement you will feel while in bed, and that can really get annoying. Also if sea sickness is an issue with you or your love ones, you might want to consider a lot Lower and Midships (center) for the least amount of movement.

I've stayed up top on the Destiny. We're talking about the cabins with the tubs and the giant windows, right? Only negatives I would have about those rooms is that they're close to the ship's horn (which isn't a big deal on Caribbean trips, we were going to Canada and it was foggy, so they had to fire the horn every so many minutes), and the picture window can really heat the room if it's on the sunny side of the boat.

Other than that I liked those rooms.

  • 6 years later...

With regard to the 9277-9294 rooms, is there any deck noise from above?   Specifically looking at 9280, it seems it is under a high terraced step, so something is presumably between the actual deck space with loungers and the room?  We had a cabin under an open deck on a Princess ship once, and the cleaning or stacking of deck chairs at 5am always woke up my wife (though I never heard it!).

Two things about lido balcony .. once you book them you will be hard pressed to book another balcony room not on lido.

when booking lingo watch that you are not near the laundry ...that's where you will find noise .. laundry folk

We had a Spa Balcony last cruise we had on the lido deck. It was pretty awesome knowing if you want to run back to your room to get something or use the bathroom it was just thru the doors and a little walk. No elevator to wait for or stairs to climb. Plus the 24/7 Pizza was really close when getting hungry at night. loved it!
