Unlimited Photo Package

Recommended Posts

There are quite a few price points mentioned. Does anyone know how much the photo package is for a 7 day cruise on the Freedom of the Seas?

$279.95 for all digital and $379.95 for all digital+prints. Currently, the prices only go up to the end of April/first week in May. Here is the link where you can select your ship and cruise date for what is offered on your cruise and prices. Every ship is different.

With my family of 6, I fully plan to take advantage of this package just for the time savings alone. If I told you how much time our family spends trying to find our "favorite" photos you would laugh. I easily spend $300 on each cruise and this takes into account us using our C & A coupons. Only spending the $300 is very difficult. I think my husband is going to enjoy the package more than me and my girls LOL!!! I do wish they had a print only option available on the Freedom, but I guess having the digital copy will be useful. ;)

We will be on Freedom in August and I would like to buy the package, but can't seem to find an answer to this question. We are all going to be in the same room- a presidential family suite- so will all of our pictures be included on the CD? They insisted on booking us under three different reservation numbers, so I want to make sure that the CD won't apply just to one reservation NUMBER and will apply to the cabin.

Based on my discussions with the company over the phone, you should all be included. If they include everyone with me with 2 adults and 4 kids spread across 3 cabins and reservations, I can't imagine why they wouldn't include everyone with you.

Since you are all in the same cabin, then yes you will all be included. RCCL's system does not allow them to book more than 4 people into one reservation number. We have one family cabin and 2 reservations.

With this package, you will receive all your digital photos on a disc and one copy of each photo that is printed and displayed in the Photo Gallery. You are not guaranteed to have one printed copy of each of your digital photos.

The above is the response in the photo FAQ under "how many prints do I get with the unlimited package CD + prints?"

Does anyone know if its possible to ask them to print out any of the photos if you notice it's on the disc but not printed?

Returned today from my 8day independence cruise, you can order prints of any/all of your pics taken. On my first sea day I collected our embarkation pics and gave to a photo gallery person stating that I had a package and wanted them put in my file. I did this a few times. Toward the end of the cruise I asked for my file and my embarkation pics were missing. When I asked about them a photographer double checked and couldn't find them, so he told me to go to the kiosk and order prints. Initially I had ordered the unlimited disc, which was $20 cheaper pre cruise, but when we saw so many pics we liked I decided to upgrade to incude unlimited photos, extra $100. I came home with over 100 pics! Since I had ordered the disc, we got pics taken every night and we asked for family pics, pics of just my DD, mom/daughter, dad/daughter, DH and I. We did it all!

Thanks for the info...this makes sense. I knew that they don't let you take home doubles, but it didn't make sense that you would not be able to get any print at all. On our last Freedom cruise, a print was made of every photo taken. I would imagine the photo company uses that particular wording to protect themselves or it may be that this rule may apply to certain ships like maybe the Allure and Oasis. We will find out this July. :)

Just back from our cruise on the Jewel. As I mentioned, the photo package was $179. The photos were mostly $20 each if purchased separately. To be honest, I don't think I would purchase it again because although you do get every photo, not every photo is one that you would buy. I mean there are some pretty goofy poses. The one photo I really would have loved was the one they take when you get off the ship at a port but our ship's photographer LEFT EARLY and wasn't there when we were getting off the ship for our excursion! I probably would have actually purchased 6 or 7 of the photos. The ones I really liked. Oh well. Live and learn.

Thanks for the update, since we're doing a 4 nighter, our price was 150. I told the other folks we have to pose for all the pics we can. I hope the photographers roam around the ship taking pics at odd times, not just scheduled events. I would love to get pics of everybody trying the rock wall, etc....:)

I did get double prints....was accidental. Right after breakfast On the final sea day we went to the photo gallery to finalize our pictures. It was packed! Not all the kiosks worked. We were about half way thru ordering pics we did not have and the kiosk kicked us out! When we logged back in the info had not even saved, so we started all over. Upon returning to my cabin I realized I had not ordered my disc...ugh. After lunch I went back to photo gallery order it. Was not nearly as crowded and when I logged in the photos were in my basket, I couldn't figure out how to get rid of them, so I ordered them. That night all pics were printed, so I got doubles!

I wanted the ability to add the pics to my photo scrape book...if you buy the disc get pics taken Every night and lots of then. It was rare occasion that we even waited. My DD loves to dress fancy so this helped us out. Depending on when we cruised I would likely buy photo package again.

I thought the photographers were great and were very nice when asked questions in the gallery.

I can't believe they still print so many pics, seems lie a big waste. Clearly the process is automated as we got several pics with my eyes closed.

Just got off the Celebrity Reflection. It was a one week cruise. We purchased the CD only package for $259. We took 130 professional pictures including the boarding, port pics, all posed pics and misc random shots at the bars and restaurants. The Reflection had the ability to review all photos in your stateroom on the TV! The kiosks weren't that busy either except for the last day of course. We were offered the additional prints for $100 more- but we prefer the CD as it is easy to carry on an airplane and make photobooks from a vendor when we arrive home. We can also make the prints that we want at home on our computer. We wouldn't have purchased so many prints, but if you purchase 12 or more you pay the same! A great keepsake and reminder of a wonderful cruise. I recommend it to all! We have future cruises booked and will again purchase.

I think I would have been OK with the package had I seen ANY photographers somewhere other than their "formal" set ups before dinner. Typically, they do roam the ship taking candid pictures. In our case, we never saw one walking around other than one night at Tides. The icing on the cake was when they left early the day we finally were in a port. Our excursion didn't meet until 11:45, so we got off the ship at 11:15 with no photographer in sight.

Yes they do leave early. What we do, as crazy as it might sound- is get off, take a picture and if we want to wait until we have a shore excursion or walk around, go back on the ship. We even get off to take a picture and spend the port day on the ship! If we pay for the package- we want to be sure we get all of the pictures

is each cabin a separate package?

we'll be in one cabin and our daughter and her husband in another cabin.

Each cabin must purchase the package UNLESS you have a minor child booked in a separate cabin. If only you purchases the package, you still would be able to get all of the photos that you were in even if your daughter/husband was in them also. I think if your daughter/husband wanted to purchase the package to get photos of them by themselves they would be able to do so at a 50 percent off discount since you are a family cruising together.

We have never had this experience on any of our RCCL cruises (Explorer and Freedom). You were able to get your photo taken every night with no exception and then some. Getting off the ship is a different situation. I would imagine it would not make sense for them to stand outside all day just to take pictures.

We just returned from the Indy a week ago and had this conversation with one of the photographers on board. I had also spoken directly with the photo company (can't remember their name) prior to sailing. Based on my chats with each party, what you mentioned above is correct if you order this pre cruise. Once you get on board, the photographer said that they do not offer the 50% off discount. Thankfully, our linked second cabin, had family members that were still minors (under 21 years) and we had it included with our photo package.

The photo package is a fabulous deal. We had a lot of fun with the photographers this time round. We took more fun, silly pictures (and a few nice ones too) and loved the outcome. The photographers had fun along with us and we got quite a few chuckles from them. We LOVE our pictures. We made great memories this time round - and have great pics to show for it. :)

The company is the image group and can be reached at mycruisephotos.com We have purchased the packages directly from them and found the prices to be cheaper. You can only purchase from them around 4 weeks before your scheduled cruises. We had two grandchildren in an adjoining cabin on the Allure of the Seas and they were also included in our package. I "assume" the same with Celebrity as they provide the services to both cruise lines.

Our experience (as of June 2012) Details could have changed since then:

1. You prepay for the package you want

2. The offered packages differ by ship and they change often. The cost differs by ship also, but the bigger ships like Allure have more opportunity for photos.

3. The packages I've seen are digital only (in a variety of quantities up to unlimited), Digital + prints unlimited, and so on.

4. We sailed allure last year and got the unlimited digital + prints. Was $399 prepaid ($499 on board), but you got all prints they printed on board. We had well over 100 prints and wasn't much work to get to that number. Some sailing mates had well over 300 but they spent more time 'posing'.

5. If you get the CD (Allure)-BEWARE, you may not get the CD until the next morning. We had to get up early and wait in line to get it. Took about 30 min and we were one of the early ones.

6. If you have the unlimted package and a photo on the kiosk in not in your binder, you can request it be printed. It will show a cost, but you are not charges if you have the unlimited print package. We did this and was never charged. Or, if one of the prints gets bent or something while looking at it.

7. Photographers are generally nice and well experienced. Get to know the ones you like and they will work to get the extra shots you want. They had several booths on each deck during formal nights, and even in the casino. Go down about an hour before dinner and scope out the backdrops you like the best. And avoid the longs lines later by doing this. There are plenty others during the cruise also. They also have preset photo ops like with the captain, dreamworks characters, etc. and these are listed in the compass. Go on the top deck if you want a sailaway photo. Many photographers hang out there.

8. Bring something to package the photos in (envelopes, backpack, etc) so they don't get bent. The flimsy file folders they give you is not enough.

9. If multiple rooms in your family have packages, you will sometimes also get their photos in your package (if you take photos with one of them). We had a lot of duplicates, but simce it was unlimted, no big deal, just extra prints.

10. As stated, the Allure kiosks were very helpful and the photos were there fairly quick. Often the same day. And if a print is missing, just request it from the kiosk. You have to ask for these at a separate desk though. They will not be put in your binder.

Any you'd like to share? I'd love to get some ideas for funny poses since I'm travelling with three noobies including an 11 year old boy. Don't need 100 pics of us all staring straight into the camera. I figure I'll give the kid the bunny ears at embarkation, but, other than that......

I'm considering this. Just read through their exclusions:

Group photos booked by special appointment and other special events (20+ people, cocktail parties, award ceremonies, etc.) are not included in the Get the Picture! digital photo disc.

Weddings/Quinces services are considered a separate entity and will not be included as part of the Get the Picture! digital photo disc.

Stock shots (i.e. photos of the ship, ship interiors and ports of call) are not included in the Get the Picture! digital photo disc.

Premium portrait photography is not included in the Get the Picture! digital photo disc.

Get the Picture! digital photo disc refers to photos of guests in one stateroom, except when traveling with children 21 years and under who are part of the same family staying in a separate stateroom. You will receive all photos with a member of the purchasing stateroom, with less than 20 people in the photo.

Should for any reason (i.e. technical malfunction or change in cruise itinerary) the Get the Picture! digital photo disc is not produced during your cruise we will issue a full refund to the credit card used for your pre-purchase. There will be no partial exchanges or substitutions for another product.

Does anyone know what 'premium portrait photography' is?

The Premium Portrait Package is done on most RCCI ships in a studio setting as opposed to the portraits taken e,g, prior to and after the dinner hours on formal nights, etc. They are like professional photo shoots. They are not included in the photo package. We got the photo package on the Allure on our last cruise. We got the printed hard copies and the CD. Their prints for the most part are excellent and as many have said on prior posts it eliminates trying to pick and choose from a group of 5 or 6 shots when you pretty much like them all. We keep photos on the computer, but we still like making up photo albums the old fashioned way because we add other keepsakes in the album. They are more fun to look back on, a least to us. We have photo albums from every cruise that we have taken. This was the first time we bought the package and intend to do it in the future. I highly recommend it if you are sailing with children You never seem to want to pass on kids photos, so you will kick yourself in the butt if you don't get it. I think we bought it on the second day of a seven night cruise.

Now THAT'S my idea of a good package!

Does this also include the ship photos, too, or only photos they take of you?

The package does not include the ship photos, so yes you only get photos of your group. A further thing to note is the photos on the disc do not have the surrounds on them i.e. the welcome aboard photo does not have the ship name, dates or ports of call. We managed to buy all hard copies of the prints for a further $50 (in 2011) on board so we took home the best of both worlds.

The kids are exactly why we are purchasing the package. We have 4, so we will definitely get our money's worth!! If it was just the 2 of us, I don't know if I would be jumping on it so quickly.
