Last Voyage of the Monarch of the Seas!

Recommended Posts

I'm curious, with Majesty now the last ship left in the Sovereign Class, is there any definite date as to when that will be leaving the fleet? I'm assuming that it is of course. Maybe it won't.

Everyone originally thought it was going to be next year, but now the rumor is that she will be sold off in 2015.

The Viking Crown Lounge, the locoation of our nightly Diamond Event. We headed up there Friday, right after sailaway. Desmond started the wine flowing and it didn't stop until about four hours later.

Needless to say, it was an early night for me. We apparently also went to the Schooner Bar that evening, and I joined a conga line. I have only the haziest of memories of it.

In my judgement I think that the Monarch had the biggest and best Boleros Lounge in the fleet. I have sailed Freedom, Navigator, Indy and never visted Boleros but on the Monarch I made the daily trip to Boleros.

First thing Saturday we stopped into the past guest reception. There were many high level Crown and Anchor members on this sailing. They had all of the Pinnacle Club guests up front for a picture.

We then left the ship and walked around Nassau for a little while. We stopped at Junkanoo Beach and visited with some folks from the ship. We also toured Fort Charlotte.

Great review and pictures! Crazy pictures of the shops!

To all that were on that cruise sounds like it was fun. Like everyone else we will miss her here for the short weekend cruise but looking forward to Enchantment. It will be nice to have room for room service on a short weekend cruise.

Now wouldn't it be the best April fools joke if the Monarch stays and just does a 3 night tomorrow and resumes its routes next weekend? Wonder how much the surprise sailings would be.

Thanks for posting! Nice to see the old girl, she is fine shape for her new life with a new crusie line. She was our first Royal Cruise back when she was brand spanking new and the biggest thing "of the seas" in 1993. Looks like she's had an appropriate send off! Thanks for sharing the voyage with her fans!:D
