Does the Splendor have the Tequila Bar or Blue Iguana or anything? It's weird that it shows all of these things when on the website....

Thanks!

Laura

No. I don't know what website you are looking at, but maybe you clicked on the wrong ship??? :confused:I use www.cruisedeckplans.com. Click on Carnival on the right side under SHIP MENU, then on Splendor. If you scroll down a bit and look on the left you will see a little thingy that says DRAG DECKS. Click on this and you can scroll left to right to see what's under and above. The only "specialty bar" that Splendor has besides the coffee bar is El Mojito which is where the martini tasting is. You can also get other drinks there, but not frozen thingys I don't think. All the other bars are just "regular." Have a great cruise! Splendor is a splendid ship! ;):p

I just went to the CCL website. I think you can click on SHIPS, then the ship you want, and it will list the venues on each ship. Unfortunately the towel animal on the website informed me it's unavailable right now, but they are working on it!:(:rolleyes:

I'm personally not a smoker but unfortunately my DB has the stinky habit. We don't have a balcony so him smoking in our room is not an option. Does anyone on here know which decks and where there are smoking sections? The only one I have heard is the casino.

Outside decks one side of the ship is smoking, I think it's starboard. Also the area outside of the rotisserie overlooking the aft pool & right above the deli & tandoor. We don't smoke but we would get something to eat & sit out there. There are tables & chairs & it is in the shade. People were even smoking pipes out there but surprisingly it didn't bother us too much since it was outside & the ship was moving.

We took a bottle of asti Spumanti in an ice bucket & sat there for a while drinking & eating turkey & pastrami sandwiches, some mac & chesse from the rotisserie with a LARGE sprinkle of bacon, of course...simple fabulous!

Bahahaha! I know, lol! I went to the site earlier and I was ALMOST irritated, but when I realized that it was a towel animal with a wrench and hard hat telling me that the site was down, I HAD to laugh. I did look at the site earlier this week and selected our ship, and it showed all of the options, but didn't seem to be ship specific. It showed Guys, Blue Iguana, Havana Bar...etc....we were very confused. I'm pretty good at researching things, so it shocked me when it kept showing all of those things that I'm pretty sure aren't on that ship. Maybe that's one of the things that the towel animal with the hard hat is fixing right now. :p

Kat,

Do you know if The Splendor has The Taste Bar like on some of the other Carnival ships?

The Splendor has the California Roll sushi bar - not the Taste Bar. It's my understanding that the Taste Bar is kind of an ad for the up charge restaurants the 2.0 ships have - Blue Iguana Cantina, Red Frog Pub, Cuchina and the up charge Sushi place. The only up charge restaurant the Splendor has is the Steak House - so it doesn't really make much sense for them to have it.

I was glad because I patronized the FREE sushi place practically every day!

Does anyone know why the Splendido pool(midship pool) has been closed for two days? I've been watching the webcam and there have been nets over the pool. This is a major concern, thank you.

I know they had all the pools closed on our first sea day because of the rough weather. I'm guessing that they didn't want anyone getting hurt. That could be the reason. Check the bridge cam and see what the weather looks like.

Could also be that some child who wasn't toilet trained had an "accident" and they had to drain it for that or some other similar reason. Could have been a drunk adult had an "accident" - it's been known to happen.

I was watching the ship Thursday evening about 6 pm our time and Friday night from about 6 and on, and wondered the same thing, said sunny skies,,, could see the sun, it was like 90 degrees and the pool was closed...maybe some one now off the ship can tell us,,,NOT good our last nights and NO pool,,wonder if they were all shut down. OR someone's mishap 2 nights in a row.

Hi! Does anyone know if you're able to go in the aft hot tubs or pool at night, or any hot tubs at night, for that matter?

THANKS!!!

Laura

I don't remember what time they close, but yes they are open at night.

Well aren't we the grumpy camper this morning!

We always cruise out of NY and don't see any more "whining and grumbling ... trash the ship, get obnoxious and drunk" or unhappy people than I read about sailing from other ports. In fact, I don't recall seeing any of that on any of my cruises.

I'll take a cruise ship full of NYers any day - in fact I plan on doing just that June 10th! :D

Glad to hear the facts! We just had our wedding onboard the Carnival Splendor on July 12th, the staff was excellent, kept a smile and always happy to assist you. The guests were not anything like what was described on the prior post. Everyone was well spoken, well mannered and never staggered or slirred. We look forward to another trip on the Splendor in the future. :) Happy Sailing all! Moonshadow723

The pool was closed on Thursday afternoon through Friday morning because someone threw a drink in the pool that looked like vomit. It was drained and cleaned. Then Saturday morning it was netted and drained at disembark time for electric repairs.

Did you have a David's Bridal bag at check in? Your (now) husband may have been wearing an FDNY tee shirt, I think?

You may be referring to the petite short haired blonde with the two kids. I had a David's Bridal Bag but we are a more mature couple and my husband is not FDNY. We were on the Game of Love show and lost to those with years of knowledge in the art of love and sarcasm. Thank you for the congrats~
