Can someone tell me how many pools and jacuzzis there are on the splendor and where they are each located please??

Thanks!!

There are 4 pools. 1 is a kids pool next to the waterslide and kids waterworks area, the Splendido main pool is deck 9 midship, the liner pool is deck 9 aft and is adults only, the 4th is in cloud 9 spa called the Thalossotherapy pool, you need a pass to use this pool. There are 7 hot tubs, 2 near the main Lido pool, 2 near the Liner pool deck 9 aft and 2 on deck 10 near the aft which look like thay are indoors. Yes, they are indoors. I was just looking to see if I have a picture from either of my Splendor cruises showing these hot tubs.

That will sure be nice on sail away in January! We plan on buying the spa passes to use the therapy pool for 2 days down and 2 days back.

I saw a picture somewhere and can't seem to locate it now.

I agree. There are porters up there to take your luggage when you arrive, and when you come back the porters will take your bags right to the car. Then you drive out and you're gone!! Not worth it to me to have to take a cab or walk to a nearby parking garage, while wrestling with my luggage, just to save a few bucks!!

We take the NJ Transit Northeast Corridor train to NY Penn Station, then a 10-15 minute cab ride to the Manhattan Cruise terminal. For my g/f and myself: train-$60 for up and back, cab- $25-$30 to and from cruise pier.

As opposed to parking at the pier. Parking- $280, Holland tunnel-$12, NJ turnpike-$6 each way, gas- about $15.

That's more than a few bucks.

I give this advice all the time and probably have a few times in this thread, but once more won't hurt! :p Go to www.cruisedeckplans.com. Scroll down a little until you see SHIP MENU on the right side. Click on Carnival, then on Splendor. Then on the left side in tiny print with a funny symbol in front you will see "drag decks." Click on this and you will be able to scroll thru the decks horizontilly. You can see where everything is and what's above and below also. ;)

That is a good plan if it works for you. When I said save a few bucks, I was referring to those that choose to drive in to New York and then park at or near to the pier. I can save a lot of money by having a friend take us and pick us up. then it would only cost me gas and tolls, plus a little extra for their trouble. :)

The Thunderball pool - which is next to the water slide is not a "kids" pool. It's a regular pool like the one on Deck 9/Lido - kids and adults can use it. It's 4 feet deep but smaller than the Deck 9 pool and the aft/adults only pool.

The only pool with a retractable roof for cold or inclement weather is the deck 9 lido pool - mid ship.

There are hot tubs on Deck 10 and they are under the deck above (11). If the roof is open they are outside, but covered from rain, snow etc.

They were not selling day passes for any of the Spa areas on our cruise (June 10-18) - Thalassotherapy Pool and rooms. Only a week pass - $149 pp or $249 for 2 people/couples. This may vary from cruise to cruise depending on how many people are booked in the Spa cabins.

And the Thalassotherapy pool is more hot tub than swimming pool (we took a tour)

That site is great for finding out if the room you want is over the Casino or a night club :D

We had a Spa suite on the Splendor out of Long beach. You are exactly correct it is more like (but better) a hot tub than a pool. Loved it, used it almost every day (and I am not a spa person).;)

We would have used it if we could have gotten day passes. I just thought $149 for something I probably would only use once or twice was a waste. I did want to try it.

We had an aft wrap with 2 lounge chairs and we spent a lot of time on the balcony. Might have gone of the the cruise pass if I had a regular balcony room though. The gym and spa were a long walk from the back of the ship. I didn't need the gym - all I had to do was walk up there and I'd gotten my exercise! :D

I understand the Thalossotherapy pool is more a hot tub than pool, however the questions was how many pools and where are they located. My mistake on the thunderball pool not being a kids pool, but being next to a waterslide, I would imagine more kids than adults in this one. We do plan on purchasing the 8 day spa pass which is actually $159 per guest / $268 per couple(or two people). I have had many surgeries and suffer from major pain, most days, so this I hear should alleviate some of the pain and help with relaxation.

I am loving your review of the Splendor and all the great pictures you have posted, keep up the great work Cyberkat!

I wonder if they raised the price. We were interested - hoping for the day pass - and they gave us a tour. The guy told us $149 for one person $259 for a couple. Bummer if they raised the price.

I've heard it's very therapeutic for pain. We didn't get to try it :( They should have a special the first day and let you tryi it out. I'll bet they would sell a lot more passes.

Has anyone done dune buggy excursions on grand turk or half moon cay? Can I have an idea of prices?

I have done the Dune Buggy in Grand Turk, it was an interesting experience and overall a nice way to see the small island. I felt that it was a bit overpriced, but most excursions usually are... I think it was $149 if I recall per person. Some of the driving is on the regular roads.

I imagine it's harder in the summer months to sell the passes to those not booked in the spa rooms, great idea to have a first day free to try. You had a sweet room. We are booked in two oceanviews for Jan, didn't think we would need the balcony for 2 days down and 2 days back up. We have gotten some awesome price drops and have quite a bit of OBC. That is going to pay for our weeklong passses. DH and I will enjoy the thermal suites and Thalasso therapy pool. We are looking for more relaxation than active time this vacation around. Camp carnival seems ideal. We've done enough trotting through Disney and Universal, so the Circle C group can take care of them for awhile so we can relax too!

...also... What websites are good to find excursions through?

Look at CC's Ports of Call boards

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5

If you browse thru the threads for the port your are interested in,

you will find many suggestions and websites.

If you don't find what you are looking for - post a question. Most

likely someone will have the answer for you.
