Green eyed lady: re: bed placement. I can’t confirm for sure, but I think what the others have said is accurate.

Patter44: re: outdoor seating. I didn’t get a photo, but will try to remember the next time I pass through. But it’s very similar to Epic, if I recall correctly.

Zlacruising: re: bowling alley. Well it’s a big ship so maybe I simply haven’t found it yet! :-) I’ll look for it tomorrow.

Lyndamr: re: dining room. I’ve only eaten in Manhattan Room. I’ve looked inside the other two – they are nice, but they simply don’t have the style that Manhattan Room offers, so that’s clearly my favorite. I’ll be posting menus after the trip. Those need to be high-resolution to see the text.

Joanc88: re: activities. Don’t worry, you will not get bored! In fact, I still haven’t opened any of the several books I brought with me! Norwegian has excellent kids programs, too. As for my favorite restaurant, I think Moderno (Brazilian meats) is the best.

Lyndamr: re: beverage package. I’ve been hanging out with a couple folks who have the beverage package, so I’ll ask them for the details. I can only confirm that Grey Goose cocktails are $6.75. :-)

Karoo:

Re: tortilla crisp. The item isn’t gone, it’s just not available on this sailing. I asked a server if it was due to an avocado shortage in Germany, and she said yes. (The ship was provisioned there for this cruise. It’s unusual to see condiments with German labels!)

Re: strawberry cheesecake. Yep, still there. The dining room menus haven’t changed from other Norwegian ships.

Re: zipline. You can, except that you have to get over to the zip line platform, and that will take a few segments on the ropes course.

Thanks...looks like I should move my cabin

You are welcome. I hope you can see how to tell for future cruises. You would think it would be every other cabin. Just confirm with NCL.

philamike, yours is one of the best blogs I have had the pleasure to read on Cruise Critics. Your great writing style, the beautiful photo's, and what really sets yours apart--the timely answer's to questions while still aboard is outstanding! Especially on a maiden voyage that is so closely followed by those of us sailing on her in the future.

Give yourself a "Vacation Hero" card, from all of us! :)

Great review! Any way you can find out if standard inside cabins have coffeemakers on this ship? I usually have to bribe my room steward to bring me one as it's not included with inside cabins on other NCL ships. Thanks!

I know this is a lot to ask of you, but would you mind asking one of the scooter people what challenges they have faced. I am a first time disabled cruiser and :)will be using a scooter on the ship. I would like to prepare myself before my 6/30 cruise. I am staying in n accessible ov cabin by myself (5138). Could you ask them if it is easy to get in and out of the room if you are by yourself, or will I have to find someone to open the door for me TIA :)

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer everyone's questions.

I know on other NCL ships the always available side of the menu differs slightly between the 2 dining rooms. But Breakaway has 3!

Are there 3 different (in subtle ways) always available menus or are the menus in Savor and Taste the same?

Thanks,

Brad

Philamile your simply remarkable!

I am going away on a cruise tomorrow and I hate to miss your posting any other info such as the menus and such is it possible when you post that you can send it to me (when I get back it could be hundreds of pages back I may not find it) at mythunderfoot@hotmail.com

Im sorry about that couple you had to be subjected to the show, chicken and salmon for lunch....everybody eats chicken I think hahaha Seems like they wanted the filet mignon or just people that complain about everything, its a shame and its wonderful how it was handled by NCL employee. I also report the people that exceed their jobs just like you do.

Questions (sorry)

The glasses for cocktails such as a jack and coke or tequila sunrise are they 8 ounces or are they small glasses. Many cruise lines have gone from regular size cocktail glasses to much smaller ones and charge extra fees for the standard size, do you find the size glasses for cocktails are smaller?

Thank you for helping me with the UBP, like to hear what that couple says.

Seems average for most ships 32-34,they seem wider than most but not very deep .

I heard they were 32 square feet.

Some on Breakaway are only 20 SF!! Wow, that's tight...smallest I've ever had in 28 cruises is 35 SF...most newer ships average 40-45...just on Allure, where we had 53 SF, and before that on the Liberty Of The Seas, 68 SF ( both were standard balcony cabins, not suites..)...NCK Sky & Pearl had around 38 SF...NCL has always had small balconies, and slightly smaller cabins overall..I am planning to possibly go on the Getaway in Oct '14, and will have to get the M6 MS, which have bigger balconies..also, FYI- some of the aft balconies are bigger by 50%....

Thanks for all the great postings- just booked for August to Bermuda.

Question - is Wi-Fi or even an ethernet connection available in the cabins? Or do you have to go to the Internet Cafe?

Thanks!

Igfan: re: casino and smoke. Like the Epic, the casino is in the middle and it surrounds the atrium. So far, I haven’t thought that the smoke smell has been very strong as I passed through. I’ve experienced far worse on other ships.

Is there smoking on the ship, in the casino?
