Secrets of Enchantment

Recommended Posts

Glad to hear that, perhaps when I was on in May they were doing some maintenance! I rushed down there for my first of many roast beef sandwiches and they were closed. That's where I'll be heading next Monday when I get on, Yummo!

Yup. They are open from Noon to 330 on the first day. :-) Fairly quiet there then too.

As for secrets - not secrets but comments.....

The Illusionist is better than expected. Give him a try.

It amazes us how empty many public areas are after dinner. We try to take a walk around the deck after dinner. The smoking side has a few people out there, but the other side ( as well as the front/aft if the area is not roped off) is nearly empty.

Silent party was VERY crowded with a long line for headphones. The party is held in the too small Viking Lounge. If you want to attend, I suggest you go early.

Centrum events are actually fun to watch (or participate)

Park Café opens a bit later than the WJ ( on the first day. ) I think it opened at noon or 12:30 PM. Breakfast hours are listed in the Compass. The breakfast burrito was good. In fact, I took one to the dining room as the rest of my group wanted a MDR breakfast.

In July (July 5 sailing) the dining room was opened for lunch on Saturday when the ship arrived in Nassau at noon (the half sea day/half port day for the three night sailing) but in August (August 23 sailing) it was closed for lunch. If it is open for your sailing, it is a good alternative to the WJ, which is very crowded just before folks get off the ship.

Enjoy

M

Great thread! We're looking forward to our first time on her in Oct.!

On the first day, can we take our kids to Park Cafe? I know it's connected to the Solarium, but I don't know how close. The kids will be 9-11 and we would love to skip the WJ on embarkation, but I don't want to take them in there if it wouldn't be acceptable.

We just completed a 3 night on the Enchantment OTS. In my opinion, Park Cafe has some of the best food on the ship. It is good for lunch or a light breakfast.

By the way, I was raised in Savannah. It is a beautiful town!

This is a great tip and one I will be taking advantage of on my cruise on Enchantment in October. The WJ was a zoo that first day.

Yes...when are you sailing in October? I'm on Oct4-7th

OK, two things:

First, on sea days, take advantage of the MDR being open for lunch, and I highly recommend doing the tutti salad bar, and having your salad chopped at the end and then some shrimp thrown on top. Also on some MDR lunch days they have a raspberry chocolate ganache dessert that is the most intense chocolate on the ship - yum!!

Second, because of the stretch, theater seating can be tight for some shows. If this happens, find the small reserved (D+, suites) section at the rear of the lower level. You will notice small lines forming on each side. Five minutes before the show these lines are accommodated, and in my experience there has always been plenty of seats.

OMG, they have a brownie that is simply to die for! It is like half brownie, half fudge, soooooo rich!! My friend thought the Key Lime pie was great, I did not try it. They also have cookies, fruit cups, yum, yum, yum!!

Always have the Key Lime Pie...in fact, I have 2 slices of it. Delish!

Find the WJ first..yum lunch :) we love Enchantment...I'm just so amazed that they cut her in half stretched her then put her back together and it still floats....can't wait until I'm onboard EOS again Oct 4th....she's a great ship...love the pool deck and beautiful railings all lit up at night.

You might enjoy this. I took this photo late at night on the Enchantment when I sailed back in May. I agree, she's gorgeous day or night!

Looking forward to sailing EOS after two cruises on Sovereign class ships. Thank you to all those who gave suggestions!

Ditto this after numerous Sov class cruises! We enjoyed them as a nice getaway, it will be a treat to enjoy a new ship and still cruise out of our convenient home port. :D

Skip the day one Windjammer madness and head for Park Cafe. If you are one of the first on, then WJ should be OK.

Yes Park cafe is nice...unfortunately I have to be very careful from now on....just diagnosed celiac...so no gluten for me...but RCI has a nice GF kitchen and freshly made meals and desserts :)
