An Exciting Announcement From RCI Australia ???

Looks like it will have something to do with whatever is behind the top secret banners. Could be something to do with a sim-card for a camera or internet, its hard to tell. Heck it even looks like it could be a sector of a cruise ship.

Perhaps a new Captian's club type card that can be used as a key card and a credit/debit card as well as for use in the casino's poker machines.:D

One of my colleagues (who is also an agent) went to an RCI product night down in Busselton tonight and I told her to ask what the "big announcement" is. First of all, the RCI rep guessed that it was me asking about it (LOL!), she said that she wasn't allowed to say anything yet but it "wasn't that big a deal". So I doubt it's anything to do with ship deployments. I tried to get the scoop but no luck. We'll find out tomorrow. :)

I doubt this is the announcement, but just saw this...

Royal Caribbean has signed an agreement with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for a series of ex-Tokyo sailings on Voyager of the Seas in 2014.

The memorandum was signed by Royal Caribbean Regional Vice President for Asia Zinan Liu and Mitsuchika Tarao, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Director Deneral, Bureau of Port and Harbo while they were aboard Voyager of the Seas on Saturday during a Tokyo stopover on a 12-night cruise from Tianjin.

Voyager of the Seas' 2014 Tokyo season will start with a 10-night sailing from Singapore on April 10 with calls at Hong Kong (overnight), Kaohsiung, Taipei (Keelung) and Nagasaki, before arriving in Tokyo on April 20. From Tokyo, the ship will then feature a six-night round-trip South Korea and Nagoya cruise to Jeju Island, Busan and Nagoya on April 20, a nine-night round-trip cruise to Taipei (Keelung), Kaohsiung and Hong Kong on April 26 and a four-night Tokyo to Taipei cruise visiting Kobe and Naha, Okinawa on May 5.

Voyager of the Seas will also offer a seven-night round-trip itinerary from Taipei (Keelung) visiting Nagasaki, Beppu and Osaka departing May 9.

I agree, that may be big for the Japanese market but not necessarily for us.:D

I'm surprised at the emphasis on Japan as many were alarmed with the nuclear leakage and earthquakes that really haven't settled.

I don't think that's 'the big news' though. It's not even a ripple really.

Oh GOODIE!!! This might help to drive down the cost of a Diamond Princess cruise that I am watching :) Actually, more than that, I am pleased to hear of this - because the Japanese/Korean/Taiwanese/East Russian area is a very interesting place to cruise - especially for port intensive cruises like happen the Mediterranean

It's more to cater for the Asian market, then to attract foreigners over there, though they cater for both. Good things happening with their economy.
