Secrets Aboard Carnival

Is it on the menu or do you just ask them to blend it?

It was on the menu on our last RC Cruise but I haven't seen it on Carnival's drink menu so I plan to just ask them to blend it for me! There is just something so smooth about the drink when it is blended like that!

Ive found the cruise lanyard a bit harder to come by now. On the breeze in November, you had to be at a machine or had to show proof that you were playing in the casino. They swiped the cards to check. This was the first time I had experienced this.

I also got playing cards at the Guest Services Platinum window in November. I was told in April on the Slendor that I had to pay for then now.

Can anybody weigh in on these past tips.

Another thing I love to do is order a cheese plate from room service to enjoy with my wine while I'm getting ready for dinner! It's a nice variety of cheeses!!

Great idea! we always have late seating so usually very hungry while getting ready for dinner I will do this one my next cruise in May!

I have one that may help some folks. The Punchliners Comedy club is very popular on the ships, and often it is difficult to secure a seat. However, I have found that the Family friendly shows are not as well attended, and seats are a lot easier to find. The shows are just as funny as the adults only shows. For a few of the comedians, sometimes their family friendly material was better than their adults only show (especially the ones who can make a joke work on a few different levels). Also, if you are easily offended, don't like hearing filthy language or questionable subject matter, do yourself a favor and attend the family friendly shows - your experience will be a lot better. However, if you do like all of the above, the midnight (or last) shows are typically the rowdiest. One caveat - comedy is subjective, so to each his own, but I have found that Carnival's lineup of comedians is as good or better than you will find in comedy clubs across the nation.

Just came off the Splendor last week.

The Casino Cashier area will hole punch and give you a casino card coils for your sign and sail card. The Coil comes with a plastic swivel leash hook at one end and a split ring at the other end. The coil attaches to your belt loop, great for those who swipe their cash cards through readers. Snaps onto belt loop. Expands to card reader then retracts to starting position.

As for the playing cards, we lost my 2 year old sons sign and sail card and went to guest services to get a new one. While we were waiting, the crew member was playing with him and gave him a deck of cards. I don’t know if they are still free, but I didn’t pay for them.

Have a good time!

:)

I don't see a cheese plate as an option on the room service menu. Sad since I wanted to try this tip http://www.carnival.com/~/media/CCLUS/Images/pdf/room-service-final-pdf.ashx

Could be that the casino staff aren't quite as free with the lanyards as they used to be because they know people will put them for sale on ebay when they get back home. Check it out. Someone has posted two lanyards for $6.95, but they were given out free on the ship! I'm all for free enterprise, but that's ridiculous.

Subscribing. :)

I read through the first 2/3 of the old thread a few weeks ago, but it seemed like all the newer posts were quotes of old "secrets" saying, "That isn't true any longer." So I gave up on reading it, and I can't wait to read current tips, tricks, and "secrets"! :D

I have to say that one of the funniest threads I have read....that we can all learn by....

Pack BEFORE you go to dinner on your last night. Most of us know that if you are not doing the walk off, your luggage has to be in the hallway by 11? Okay...if you wait until the last minute, you may be rushed or have a few cocktails in you. :)

Quite a few times, I have read that people accidentally pack their shoes, or socks ....etc..etc. This one lady (shall we say a little tipsy...got back to her cabin and packed EVERYTHING, put her luggage in the hallway and passed out on the bed.

The next morning, she had NOTHING. Just her purse (luckily with ID). She had to walk off the ship in a "Carnival Bathrobe" You just can't make this stuff up...lol

For those of you, like myself, prefer to take your hot foods back to your room and enjoy. Place another plate/tray plate over the top to hold the heat in until you get back to your room. It helps a bit:D

Also, the 24 hour Ice Cream Machine is your friend. I order cookies from Room Service or buy the larger ones at the Sweet shop and go to the Ice Cream machine and make my own Ice Cream sandwiches....YUM-O.

In the morning, they have flavored jellies and preserves along with the small cereal boxes, I pour these over my ice cream, it makes for a great morning crunchy sundae:D

Coffee and Ice Cream makes a great chilled drink or dessert.

Order Room Service Coffee and "hide" the coffee carafe in your closet and take it with you to the Lido to be re-filled. The reason I say "hide" is because the Room Steward will take it when cleaning the room. I am a coffee drinker and walk up to the Lido and re-fill my carafe before heading to the room for the night. I know that you could just call Room Service and order, but I never know when I am in the mood for coffee and this way it seems to always be there ready for me.

I could go on and on and on..

I for one am also glad to see this updated thread back. For those of you that think there is already one started.....I could say that about 1,000 other threads on this board.....Move along and don't post or read then:rolleyes:

Order the cookies from room service. Yum

If you board the ship early, head straight to the spa and see if they need volunteers for the spa tour. Great way to get a free treatment....if the B2B'ers don't beat ya to it ;)

What is a spa tour... I would be very interested in being a volunteer! Please tell me more.

I would much rather make my first stop on the cruise to the spa than the dining room to find out our seating arrangements for dinner!

The spa tour is where they try to entice your fellow passengers to partake of the services offered throughout the week. You sit there and get your treatment done and they explain to the guests what is being done and how to sign up for it. Times should be posted in the fun times when you board. If you don't mind people looking at you, it's worth it. We did a B2B and we were supposed to be volunteers on the 2nd leg since we were already on board, but the computers went down in the terminal and new pax couldn't board for over 2+ hours . So the tour was cancelled. Hubby was supposed to get the Deluxe men's shaving package and I was to have a facial. :( next time tho! :D

The other one is full of great tips and dont see a need for a new thread.

I hope you dont take this wrong but why are you so critical. I have read your posts on a lot of the other threads and even if it doesn't interest you, you still say something negative. I know you have been on a lot of cruises and I appreciate advice from experienced cruisers.
