Hi Pia and Mike, thanks for another live from!

Will be great to hear your usual candid view of life on the Ruby for the short cruises -- we are booked Feb 15 and 20.

Sorry Commodore Romano will be leaving before we board, we have very fond memories of sailing with him. Please give him our best wishes if the opportunity arrives.

Enjoy your cruise!

John & Kathy

Thanks for posting Pia.

Question re Maitre D' please.

We're wondering if you could please ask Maitre D' Nicola Furlan if he'll be doing the Atlantic crossing on Ruby April 27 & Europe based cruises May/June. If not, could you ask him who'll be Maitre D' - we have food/mobility issues & need a lot of contact with MD. Gives peace of mind to know who'll be looking after us.

Thank you in advance.

Bon Voyage & smooth seas to you all. :D

Pia,

You picked a great time to sail south. It will be 48 here tonight and the cold is staying for awhile...finally!

Hope you guys are having fun and you're enjoying the suite :)

It’s Wednesday Jan. 15th and if I didn’t look at the Patter heading I’d never know what day it is. For some reason Mike thought last night was Friday. We went back to the cabin after dinner (after first donating to the economy of the casino) and sort of watched Sunshine Cleaning. It wasn’t what I anticipated, so I gave up on it.

A whole lot happening today, mainly for your body. In the morning you can discover secrets to having fabulous hair, you can be wrinkle free and look 10 years younger, you can learn how to rejuvenate your skin, you can detox for health and weight loss, or you can lose those extra inches. Now this is just in the morning. How about finding out the secrets to a flatter stomach or how to cleanse your muscles and finally turn back time and look 10 years younger. Hey………..since you lost 10 years in the morning, you think you can lose 10 more in the afternoon? ;)

What else you ask? Well there’s a major conflict for us at 10:00 - trivia and the M & G. This was not one of best roll calls, so decisions will have to be made. Also in the AM is the movie Back to the Future on MUTS and veggie carving and towel folding in the Piazza. Afternoon brings a juggler (several times) in the Piazza, arts and crafts card making and Mr. & Mrs. Smith on MUTS.

Tonight is formal night and the champagne waterfall, the production show Broadway Ballroom, the movie Jobs on MUTS and the not so good comic Phil Tag doing a solo show in Explorer’s. We are having dinner in the Crown Grill so will most likely end up in the casino, unless we get finished early enough to catch the theater show.

Mike: Escargot was on the menu last night

Marcia: Yes, to your question.

DVD info: Your steward will give you a DVD “menu” and you get to pick two each time. Just leave your order on the bed or somewhere visible in the morning and he will deliver them to you in the afternoon

Neptune: Will ask if I see him

Wendy: Brrrrrrrrrrr

Gym was empty this morning but very hot. Don’t know why their air isn’t working properly. Off to breakfast now.

Thanks Pia.

Loving (as usual) your posts.

We're sailing on the Royal in February and as (like you) I've kind of had it with the production shows, I like to just veg out at night with MUTS.

The movies sound awful ! :(

Hope they get some new ones or maybe I'll just go with a glass of wine and have a nice outdoor late nap. ;)

Hi, new to this, but would like to know if wifi for IPad is free. Will be sailing on Saturday and not sure if I want to bring the IPad? Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Welcome to Cruise Critic !

No * you have to purchase internet minute packages.

(* if you are Platinum or Elite you will be giving some mins. depending on length of cruise as a part of the loyalty program)

Thanks for the "live" thread! I thought that the shorter cruises didn't have a formal night. A group of us are sailing in April.... Do I see a new dress in my future???
The four-night cruises we took in December did not have a formal night. The five-night cruises do. Many people still dressed up on the "dress to impress" night, which was when they held the champagne waterfall. Edited by geoherb

Some nonsensical info:

1. We finally won trivia. Flashlights. I gave ours to the team who marked our papers. They were thrilled.

2. Paid a short visit to the casino which I don’t usually do during the day. Broke even; left happy.

3. There will be a most traveled cocktail party in lieu of the luncheon. It’s tomorrow night. Cutoff is 500.

4. For Marcia: requested Foderick for dinner tonight. For everyone else: he’s a wonderful waiter in Crown Grill, but be careful - he will bring you a dozen lobsters even when you don’t ask for them.

5. Choc. Covered strawberries delivered to cabin a little while ago. Didn’t request them. Ate them.

See you tomorrow.

Oh no, the dreaded Flashights again. :p I am sure the people you gave them to were very happy.

So happy that at least there will be a most traveled cocktail party! Enjoy.

LOL, you are so right about Foderick and the lobsters!! I hope he was as good to you tonight as when we were there. Let me know. I'm jealous, I'm sure the food was great as usual!

YUM on the strawberries!! I forgot to even order them when we were on, I guess suite people get them requested or not.

You are lucky you are away. Although I love it, it's freezing here. 61 now and going to be in the 40's by morning. I still have the windows open, wearing my flannies and so happy! :D Have a good nite :)

Hi Pia,

Hope you are enjoying the cruise. I was wondering if there is a Princess Choir on 5 day cruises. You will also be happy to know you will not be alone on your Coral cruise. A couple just joined your roll call today.

Hi and thanks for the insight -

We'll be joining you this Saturday - first time as Elite (woo who)

I was wondering - were the strawberries due to the suite ? or level ? or just because you're special ?

Thanks a bunch - see ya Sat.
