sun&sea Posted January 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2014 On the Ruby, there is a time slot listed for Bible Study each morning. Is this fleet wide, or is it just the Ruby? Enjoyed this the past couple of years. Janet
cruiserus Posted January 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2014 I have seen it listed in the Patter on a few ships, but the time varied. I can not say if it is common policy on all the ships.
Loonbeam Posted January 31, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2014 It's at the discretion of the CD on each itinerary based on available space.
joybook Posted January 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2014 WE were on Sea Princess out of Brisbane, Australia over Christmas and there was quite often a Bible Study group in one of the lounge areas. Must say though that this is the first time I have seen a Bible Study being held on any Princess cruise I have been on.:)
satxdiver Posted January 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2014 It is hit and miss depending on the CD. If you are on a cruise and it is not listed , talk to the CD to see if it can be arranged and announced.
Gunner22aa Posted January 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2014 DW has participated in many while we have cruised. Basically all have been self led by someone in the group. There have been times when she was the only participant and enjoyed the time for self reflection and at other times there have been over a dozen in attendance and they took turns leading it. They met in one of the smaller meeting rooms on board and it was publicized in the Patter.
Susie51 Posted January 31, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2014 I've never noticed a Bible Study listed before. I'll look for it next cruise. Thank you for the info.
diplomats Posted January 31, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 31, 2014 IF the cruise director is Lee, there will be Bible study and an amazing sunday interdenominational service if at sea. Lee shows no theological study in his bio but his "sermons" belie some background, either formal or self taught.
JavaMan7 Posted January 7, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 7, 2019 I was just on the Island Princess and the CD hosted an interdenominational service. There was also a daily Bible study in the mornings.
Thrak Posted January 7, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 7, 2019 We saw it in the Patter on our cruise in November on Coral Princess. We noticed the sign once when we were passing by Explorers but there was nobody there. It's definitely up to the passengers to decide whether or not to participate. mcrcruiser Posted January 7, 2019 #12 Share Posted January 7, 2019 We feel that holding Bible studies & worship sermons are very wonderful serving to our God .We would love to see other cruise lines expand into this direction .Holland America has daily mass . For what we understand then just Princess & HAL are do far the only main line cruise lines that have any religious functions ,so far
capriccio Posted January 7, 2019 #13 Share Posted January 7, 2019 On our 10 day crown Princess cruise last month there was a daily (8:30 am) Bible study noted in the Patter: "Join fellow guests for unhosted Bible study and discussion." It was held in the wedding chapel.

My parents went to church on the ship and said that the person who ran it was amazing. My Mom said, "It was "real" church!" 😃
