Hopefully I can help in one direction (MLife benefits onboard RC) but I don't know anything about the reverse. Used this benefit on my last cruise (September 13 on Liberty) as an MLife gold member.

Called up royal caribbean casino department before the cruise and they looked up my MLife status and confirmed I was eligible. On arrival there was a letter in my cabin welcoming me and asking me to report to the casino manager.

Immediately went down and was welcomed with open arms. Got a high roller sticker on my sea pass and had some of the benefits explained to me. Not sure if the casino manager wasn't up to speed on the benefits or was being a bit shady but she indicated that the benefits were all based on my spending in the casino and nothing was for free.

I had been told by MLife about some of the benefits so I immediately asked her to try and book a dinner in chops for us. Gave her our preferred date and time and she said she would take care of it. Next morning I got a call in the cabin to confirm my reservation. Went the next night and was welcome in Chops as a high roller and told that the charges were taken care of. Even got a bottle of wine for free courtesy of the casino manager.

I also read that we got 5 free drinks in the casino bar, next evening we tried and without asking the bartender told us the drinks were on the house. Same happened if we ordered any drinks while at a table or slot. I noticed behind the bar they seemed to have a high roller list and when they saw the gold sticker on the sea pass they checked the list and drinks were FOC.

I also completely forgot about the free "entertainment tour". After a few nights we found tickets in our room inviting us to a tour backstage in the theatre. I was a bit confused at first but then remember this was one of the stated benefits.

All of these benefits were given without me spending any money in the casino. Later on in the cruise we did visit and came away with some very nice winnings so I felt a little like I had robbed the place.

I'm only an Mlife gold member, I think if you're platinum or noir you can get even more benefits including free cruises.

One thing that you might not be aware of is that Mlife will match your status from Hyatt hotels. I've only set foot in Vegas once and was never a member of Mlife, but I have Hyatt platinum status. I got Mlife to match it and that got me all the benefits on my cruise. So if you're Hyatt platinum status or higher make sure you get a status match to Mlife and then enjoy these benefits. Not a lot but every little helps!

My experience was somewhat similar. I have gold status due to being diamond. If I was just Mlife, I would have been sapphire in their program. I didn't have my MLife gold card when we went on the Oasis, but they looked me up and I was on the list. We had them book Chops for us, which was free. I got 5 coupons for drinks in the casino bar.

I have since been in Vegas for a trip and I now have my Gold MLife card which is good for like 2 years. I am not sure I will be able to get to the next MLife level. That said, if you are diamond, you are giving up nothing by joining MLife, and you get at least some awesome perks.

So you got perks on RCCL because you were gold Mlife, but you are only gold Mlife because you are Diamond RCCL. Do I have that right? Would you have gotten the same perks if they knew you were really only sapphire with mlife? I am not trying to be a smart a**, just wondering because we are diamond + which makes us platinum with Mlife. Should I take my platinum card to the RCCL casino on our next cruise?

What you do is completely up to you. But yes that is basically what I did. I only did it because there was a thread here about it, and I just happened to read it. Knew I go to Vegas regularly, but I don't gamble. So, I signed up with MLife became Gold because I was Diamond with RCI, and used that to get Chops and 5 drinks in the casino. I did amass a bunch of MLife credits on my trip to Vegas after the cruise because I had 16 nights at MGM properties, attended Santana, Zarkana, Michael Jackson 1, several expensive meals ets. That said it is crazy that I get freebies on RCI for being diamond. JMHO and YMMV.

on my trip to Vegas in November, I stopped by the MGM and showed them my C&A number and D+ status. They in turn gave me a MLife Platinum card. I used the card to get into Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat and also for Shark Reef FOR FREE.

Also you can jump the line in most Mlife hotel buffet lines as well as get from 10-20% off.

I wasn't staying in an MLife hotel, so I didn't ask about upgrades, but have heard they do that as well. Just b/c I wasn't staying, I certainly gambled in their casinos with my card in the slots.

Now, my experience trying to double dip with Royal doesn't work. I usually have balconies, so Royal said you can pick one or the other benefits but not both. So if I use my balcony discount, I've used my C&A and cannot ask for any MLife benefits.

The club Royal # is 1-888-561-2234

Thanks for the #. It is weird b/c on Brilliance we go the benefits with no issue but when we were on Liberty last month we could not get them. We are on Enchantment next week so I just called and she is not finding our #'s in the database so has to send an email to MLife to get the info. Hopefully, she will find them and it will get attached to our reservation. We will see.

We are Diamond with RCI and have a Sapphire M-Life. Who do you call and how do I contact M-Life to link the Diamond so I can become Gold at M-Life? Then who do you contact at RCI to tell them you are Gold with M-Life? Thanks for the help!

These posts interested me as we spend a lot of time in the Casino. We are RCI Diamond (D+) after our next cruise and Hyatt Platinum. I just opened an account and clicked on the RCI benefits.

It says guests must earn the Mlife tier with actual spend and tiers earned through 3rd party benefits are not eligible. Link to page. It also says they are not combinable. So, going by this since we have received our status by 3rd party we wouldn't be eligible and since we received the D balcony discount we wouldn't be eligible.

So how did you guys swing the benefits. They are worth getting if we can :D

On our Liberty Cruise I had a totally different experience. On the first night I went to the casino host... gave her my M-Life Number (I am Platinum M Life and Diamond Plus RCI -- I was Platinum M Life prior to the RCI partnership) She said she'd check and get back to me. She advised to make sure the pit boss had my card while gambling (I play cards). The first night gambling the boss took my card and tracked my play. The second night the new pit boss looked at my card, shrugged his shoulders and handed it back -- didn't track a thing. After that... the bosses either tracked or not (but that is another story). I gambled for about 4 or 5 hours a night. My hands meet or exceed the limits she suggested. On the 3rd day of the 5 night cruise the host told me that yes, I was an M-Life member but was not eligible for the M-Life perks. Using that $35 coupon negated any perks. I guess that I'll try to call before I go on my next cruise. Didn't use a coupon or balcony discount for this coming up cruise!

Basically, what I learned is it is a great marketing ploy... but if I want perks for gambling on a ship I need to go to NCL... I will just stick to the perks in Vegas... they are worth the status and the loyalty for going to MLife properties.

Wow, it sounds like the rules for this program are kind of all over the place.

My experiences. I am Platinum with M Life. That's how I came to take my first cruise with RCI. Enchantment, 3 night cruise. I certainly didn't get the VIP treatment that another person mentioned. I earned over 2,000 points and was invited to be a member of Club Royale.

3 months later, I took the same cruise. When I called, I was told I had to either use my RCI perk ($25 certificate) or my M Life perks. I chose the M Life perks. Only to get on board and have them denied me. They had a list of people who were M Life members, and by my name it said "benefits only, no comp". I took that to mean that while the cruise wasn't a comp - I should still get my benefits. They took it to mean I should get nothing.

I called RCI when I got back and told them as I had been denied my M Life perks, that I wanted a $25 credit on the cruise. They offered me a credit for my next cruise - I said no - I wanted my money back. They gave it to me.

Next cruise - August on Majesty.

I'm kind of bummed. I was just offered through a host at Monte Carlo a comped 7 night cruise on Allure in April. But it had specific dates, and I can't go on those dates.

FYI I didn't have any problem combining discounts. I used a balcony discount and still got the Mlife benefits.

And I doubt very much if RC can see that my Mlife status is a match from my Hyatt status. I travel a lot for work (4 nights per week) so I have a variety of statuses, I'm forever getting status matches and making sure I get maximum benefit from every € spent on travel. I've never had a benefit denied because I matched my status.

The only exception I've read is that the free cruises have to be based on spend with MGM + status, you can't just get Noir status matched and get a free cruise. But everything else should be given to you, and if it isn't then complain, complain, complain!

I am trying to remember how I did it. I am pretty certain there is a link at MLife that has a FAQ regarding RCI. You can only get your Gold or Platinum card (lucky d+ people) at an MGM MLIfe desk. In other words, I went to their web page and ultimately contacted a MLIfe person who said, I was on the MLIfe list for the Casino host. Which turns out to be true.

I don't think you will get better balcony discounts with Mlife, but you will get dinner for two at a specialty restaurant. You will get 5 drink coupons for the casino bar. And other minor perks.

So, free dinner in Chops was worth it for me to go thru the hassle.

Thanks for all this info.

We are emerald and I did sign up for mlife but now need to get that changed to gold from whatever their entry level is. I will try their website and calling them.

Then I guess I would call the casino number fir RCI to add my mlife number to my reservation.

I should be ok as far as combining benefits as we had 2 cabins and only used a shareholder credit on the inside cabin that I will link with mlife. I might try on the other cabin (balcony) and see what happens.
