Rare uktog Posted February 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2014 Why bother with a brochure. You can find details online either with the cruise lines site or travel agents and these latter group include current pricing. We've had our 2015 cruises booked for almost 5 months
procter Posted February 24, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted February 24, 2014 1: Because Azamara offer the brochure. If they want us all to move to online then say so 2: Because I may wish to show to friends rather than us all cluster round a computer. 3: It is useful for both me and my travel agent to have a hard copy when booking to look at options at the time. 4: Do you not think High St specialist agents might need them also? 5: If sailings have been out 5 months why can they NOT have produced a brochure? 6: If they say it is coming in 4 shipping days then why not do as they say? Uktog I too am an Azamara ship side fan but like you I am getting sick of the useless shore-side operation

Uktog I too am an Azamara ship side fan but like you I am getting sick of the useless shore-side operation It's not good enough for an already existing company to send out this message! In comparison - The Viking Star hasn't even launched yet but I asked for a brochure and got one within days and have also been sent other hard copy brochures for other cruise companies for 2015 cruises. I am really looking forward to my Azamara cruise in June and I would hope that it won't be my first and last cruise experience with them!
ellbon Posted February 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2014 I am in Quest now and booked all my 2015 cruises and there is no book. There are printed pages that look like a booklet that someone keeps printing. At least it makes it easy to link cruises for 2015 .

Glad to hear that Ellbon at least basic printed paper is easy to recycle :) Everytime I get another brochure delivered, that I have NOT requested to have sent from various CLs, I get annoyed thinking of the waste. Waste to make it, print it, send it. Waste to the environment, waste of money, waste of my time and the refuse service having to dispose of it in an environment friendly way. I fully understand some people do not like to see everything on a computer, not sure why as there is so much more you can see and explore about a cruise online, but its personnal taste. It's a very expensive way to market a product, perhaps the money would be better spent on making the client experience even better. Can't wait for my next Azamara and a bit of a brochure would give me so little to look at compared to all the research I can do on my laptop. Hi Kikki, Most everyone seems to be displeased with Azamara shoreside.... but believe me, the onboard experience is fantastic. Please do not let any shortcomings put a damper on your upcoming sailing. I wish you a wonderful cruise ! Andy Posted February 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Why bother with a brochure. You can find details online either with the cruise lines site or travel agents and these latter group include current pricing. We've had our 2015 cruises booked for almost 5 months I agree Uktog. To me, brochures are getting to the point, where they are a waste of time. However, I must wonder why Azamara does not put the 2015 destination Guide online - assuming it's actually available. The only reason I suspect it exists, is that there's a way to order it via snail mail. In past years, probably thanks to Bill Leiber, Azamara always sent me a copy of the destination guide, when it was hot off the presses. I can only presume, I've lost that opportunity this year. If only Azamara had someone on here, we'd probably get an answer, but for now, we remain stranded at sea. I dont know about you, but for me, that's heartbreaking. You were very lucky, I have requested a brochure 4 times and still not seen one. Unlike some other people I like a brochure to take to my friends etc when promoting Azamara. It seems in the UK even TA's cannot get them. Don't forget that some people do not have a computer so cannot look things up. Yes I agree Azamara needs to think about people who do like a brochure.:(:(

Did you try the website don't send them an email look for the link that says request a brochure maybe it goes to a different department? If that's what you already did I don't know why they would take so long to send you one. That's really dissapointing and frustrating for you I'm sure. mzk90 Posted February 26, 2014 #13 Share Posted February 26, 2014 At this time of year I thought that most cruise lines are getting ready to release their newest brochures, with their updated itineraries. So it is no surprise that they may have run stocks down and have not done any print runs for a while meaning some may be unavailable. The main reason I don't use a brochure any more is that the itineraries have often altered quite a bit from when printed, pricing bears no relation to reality and booking is all about a promotion, which is hardly ever listed in a brochure for obvious reasons! Jade13 Posted February 28, 2014 #18 Share Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) We received two 2015 Destination Guides today. We have received 4 others from Azamara in the past month (so 6 brochures). Fyi, HAL sends one addressed to both people in the same household whereas Azamara sends one to me and one to my DH and our travel agent sends the same guides with their logo. Rare uktog Posted March 1, 2014 #21 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Thanks Joel Another happy one here Before dear Bill departed he was looking at how those of us on 22Dec sailing can be sure we can book back to backs in the same room when the brochures come out. My hope is b2b2b but we will wait to see the exciting plans you have in place. There are various sports fixtures I've been told by the chief home finance director he wants to visit so this could be fun

I'm in the same situation. I'm booked on the Bali to Cairns cruise and as soon as the next cruise (my money is on Cairns to Sydney) opens up, I'd like to make sure I can grab the exact same suite... tgg Posted March 5, 2014 #25 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Ours came this morning, also delivered by Fedex Ground. What surprised me was the accompanying letter. It started "Dear Traveler" and went on to tell me that "Azamara is a two-ship fleet with a big reputation". The letter ( signed with warm regards by Larry Pimentel) goes on to list "More reasons you'll love Azamara Club Cruises". Isn't there anyone in the marketing department who knows how to do a simple data match to determine that we have been on 14 Azamara cruises dating back to 2008? Couldn't someone come up with a "Thanks for sailing with us" and "We look forward to welcoming you back" letter? Yes, I know these are form letters, but it's always nice to have someone say "Thanks for your business."
