vent1020 Posted April 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2014 I started a thread like this prior to my Princess cruise on the Princess board and the help was overwhelming. I want to create a bucket list of must have foods for my upcoming cruise in November.(yes it's a little early, but most understand the excitement of having a cruise booked) :D Yes, I've cruised on NCL back in February of 2012, but that was my first cruise and I had no freaking idea what I was doing and missed out on a lot. So, what food do you most look forward to when you cruise on NCL? I love food and would hate to miss out on something. Thanks!

Azure Moon Posted April 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 2, 2014 You'll get to see some of the must have foods in this thread http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1971586&highlight=food+porn I love the various Creme Brulees, the dessert I had one time with chocolate mousse in the main dining room (OMG!), the rib appetizer in the Asian restaurant, the Mozzarella and Prosciutto Panini, Tomato Basil soup, and Fish and Chips in the 23/24 hour restaurant; the grilled tomatoes, sticky pecan-topped rolls, the cream cheese-topped rolls, the chocolate-filled croissants, the fresh pineapple and other fruits, the non-greasy foods - except bacon, that tends to be greasy and hubby eats it but I prefer the non-greasy sausage links, and so much more in the buffet.:p:D:cool:
Rare blackwing Posted April 2, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 2, 2014 The little potato pancakes served at breakfastThose were potato pancakes? At least on the Getaway, I thought they were hash browns. They looked more like a mini version of McDonald's hash browns to me than what I traditionally think of as a potato pancake. I concur with the Escargot in Le Bistro. Fantastic. The waffles are amazing. Buttery and crispy. I also really liked the Hawaiian burger in the buffet for lunch. Ate one every day.

Rare blackwing Posted April 2, 2014 #17 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Hawaiian burger? I think that will go on my list. I don't know what it is, but sounds good. :DIt's a burger with bacon, pineapple, and some kind of sweet teriyaki or barbecue sauce. Absolutely delicious. And it wasn't just the toppings... the meat was always perfect, juicy and tasty. Not overcooked or dried out like many mass-cooked burgers. I need to book another NCL cruise so I can have one of those again! Fergalicious so delicious!

Rare blackwing Posted April 2, 2014 #22 Share Posted April 2, 2014 I missed the Pretzel Rolls. To be honest, I was really disappointed with the French Onion soup in the main dining room. It was pretty much onion broth with a piece of bread and a tiny bit of cheese. Not much better than a can of Campbell's. I figured this was because it was too time consuming to bake lots of them in the galley. A real French Onion soup comes out with cheese baked all over the top. It crusts on to the bowl. I thought it would be better at Le Bistro, figuring it was Le Bistro, and they would do it justice, but nope. Same bowl that you can get in Main Dining Room. A bit disappointing, but oh well.
