Premium vs. Ultimate drink package

Recommended Posts

Just looking for the exact difference between the two packages. We like, beer, jack and ginger, and the occasional drink of the day, and we can't forget coco loco's.

Just trying to figure out what would work best for us.

Thank you.

I am curious about this whole drink package thing. In the past, (2006 was our last cruise) we didn't buy any of the packages. If I want a soda with dinner, do they charge for it? Is the package only if you are out by the pool? Neither my husband or I are soda drinkers however, occasionally, we will have a coke or rootbeer. Most of the time, coffee, tea and water will suffice for us. Thoughts please.

If you want a soda with dinner and you don't have a package, then you have to pay extra. The packages work anywhere on the ship, except for room service and your stateroom mini-bar.

Sounds like you don't really need any of the packages.

If you are a coffee/tea/water drinker I would highly recommend the royal replenish package $20 per day includes still/sparkling water, speciality teas and coffees (any size) as well as sodas and non alcoholic "mock tails" . Well worth it if drink more than 5 per day.:D (large specialty coffees were approx $4.75 plus gratuities if bought individually)

It's really not hard to get your money's worth with the ultimate package. Think of it this way.....fresh squeezed OJ at breakfast, a bloody mary in the AM, a lava flow while by the pool, a bottle of water and diet coke in the afternoon, a glass of wine with dinner, and then a martini (or 2) in the casino. I bought this package on my May 25th Navigator cruise, and feel it was absolutely worth the cost.

I'd have to do some world class drinking to get value from any of the packages that include alcohol ...and check into rehab when I got back!

The packages are so expensive. We're doing our first MSC cruise soon and the cost on there for the equivalent of the premium package is only $30 per day

That is quite a difference. Does the MSC price include gratuties?

It was hinted to me to get one package and share with my hubby and kids. I'm not paying 100 a person

Sharing is very clearly in contravention of the terms and conditions. If you get caught, they will cancel your package with no refund.

Technically they can kick you off the ship, but that seems not very likely.

Water-based drinks (coffee, tea (hot or iced) ice water, lemonade or flavored water, milk and juice at breakfast is included in your fare. You can buy a can of soda, if you want one, without a package of any sort.

We would benefit from an alcohol package....drink several beers during the day...and mixed drinks in the evening....

You really need to drink about 6-7 drinks a day to make the packages pay...

Challenge accepted! As I always say: the Captain's driving so it's OK

I'm waffling over this one for the January trip. I like the convenience aspect of it. Reading conflicting reports if it has to be everyone in the cabin or not. If we can get away with one we'll definitely do it (the DW works 3rd shift 6 days a week and thus has a little pent-up-energy - plus no hangovers), but $1000+ to cover the both of us for 8 days? My wallet will be hollering even louder than my liver.

Does anyone have a list or menu of the specially coffee's and teas? And are they offered on every ship? I would image the Promenade Cafe if so?

One thing I got very used and was a switch from how I've been trained with normal drinking was the realization that I never actually had to finish a drink with the Premium Package.

With a lot of the drinks being very sweet, I would order a drink, have some of it, get sick of it and then drop it off somewhere and get something else. As a result, I got through that 6-7 drinks pretty fast without much of a problem. It also came in handy at the pool where things tended to melt and get warm pretty fast.

The guilt about not getting your money's worth if you don't drink an entire drink is hard to get rid of, but once you do, it makes the Premium Package very much worth it.

You can purchase individual packages if you wish. Just off Liberty and I bought the premium for myself as my wife is a light drinker.

Clarea thank you!!! I could get my money's worth on the Premium Package just with Chai Teas ;)

I didn't realize that Starbucks was served on every ship if that menu is the same thats on Navigator Father and I will be thrilled! :D

The bottled water in the package is Evian...tastes like pool water:rolleyes: That is enough to turn me off from the Royal Replenish!!!

I had the Royal Replenish package on the Oasis and the water I was served was Crystal Geyser not Evian.
