With the first named storm of the season in the Atlantic, I bet Arthur will make for a rough ride back home for the Breakaway and the Summit from Bermuda.

Arthur is scheduled to pass NY early

saturday morning...both ships will follow it's trail back home....

It happened to me on my last Bermuda cruise an it made for an interesting 24hr back home...

Hope all is well for both ships !

....and also for the ones leaving the US on Friday morning to Bermuda !

Safe Sailing to all for this week.

Also for Gem, who missed GSC this week and left Nassau a day early to outrun Arthur on her way back to NYC.

We sail on Sunday. Should be good by then.

:)

My humble advice for those who might experience the effects of "Arthur":

Enjoy what King Neptune is willing to produce during your voyage! As a Princess Cruises Captain once proclaimed--or close to this quote: "We are sailing on the bosum of the ocean and bosums are known to heave."

Consider whatever you experience, which I hope will not be too disrupetive, to be another travel adventure.

Just off Summit this morning. For 24 or so hours we had 13-15 foot seas, which discomfited some folks but really wasn't too bad for us. I did, however, decide that I will continue to book mid-ship cabins! Both e bow and aft were a bit too rocky for me :-)

We booked for next summer to Bermuda on Summit so it clearly wasn't too bad!

Just got off the Breakaway today, and except for some heavy swells Friday overnight in to Saturday morning, all was well. Saturday turned out to be a bright sunshiny day!

Hard to totally avoid some rocky seas getting back in. Happily, it wasn't awful.

Neighbors we on the BA and friends were on the Summit last week. Both said though it wasn't a mill pond it was not as rough as they were expecting and Saturday was a lovely day. I guess since the Valor diverted TO Bermuda, rather then Canada/New England, once a hurricane has passed by, things get back to "normal" pretty quick.
