Travelcat2 Posted August 28, 2014 #51 Share Posted August 28, 2014 I'm finding the tone (and subject) of this thread very negative. The policy is spelled out -- if there are questions about the policy, shouldn't you check with Oceania or your TA? Disparaging Oceania for a policy that is misunderstood by a few people does not seem fair.
tanny18 Posted August 28, 2014 #52 Share Posted August 28, 2014 I said I was finished, but I just did some math - 1-19 cruises have go be paid, then 20th is FREE. Then 21-39 cruises have to be paid (19 cruises in total) and then 40th is FREE. This means 38 are paid for and 2 are free, i.e. after 19 and after 39! Now can we end this???? Arlene Sorry Arlene, no cigar. Lets try this a different way. I've copied and pasted the policy below for the first 59 credits. It is clear if one reviews the policy that the first free cruise occurs once the passenger is Platinum and has accumulated 20 cruise credits and that the nexe free cruise occurs once the passenger is Diamond and has accumulated 40 points. Don earlier stated that the error was that people were getting the first free cruise one credit early after 19 cruises and the chart below confirms that. With only 19 credits, the passenger is Gold without a free cruise. Appears that it is O that is misinterpreting the point at which the passenger should get the first free cruise by giving the first free cruise after 19 credits rather than the 20 that the policy clearly shows. So, the OP is correct about confusion but, it is the first free cruise that has been confused by O and not the second. The second comes after 40 credits are earned and as Don also stated, pay for 20 cruises and get the next one free is what the written policy clearly states. This should end the mystery and people should be happy to get the first free cruise one cruise earlier while the next is on time after 40 credits. Arlene NO it is 20 to 39 then a free cruise take the 1st free cruise (20) out of the equation it does not count Your 21st becomes #20 that you paid for to get cruise credits toward the next point level just read the Club benefit rules online or in their brochure Now we are done :D Edited August 28, 2014 by LHT28

Winner Posted August 29, 2014 #57 Share Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Try Seabourn if you really want to experience superior service. And no fiddle-faddle about being all-inclusive--it just is, except for shore excursions, which are reasonably priced. I will continue on Seabourn (never do 7-day cruises on any ship) and you continue on Oceania and we'll both be happy. spindrift Posted August 29, 2014 #58 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Been on Seabourn, as well as Silver Seas, and they are lovely, but of course, it is obvious which line I enjoy. I'm so sorry that you are not positive on O.:o

In any case, it seems that Oceania passengers are not interested in all-inclusive. Not certain how post this helps an already confused thread:confused:
