so i can't tell if i like these rooms because i can't tell from the inside balcony looks like. from what i can tell it appears you enter your room through the inside balcony-- but what do you look at? it looks like its inside so what's the point of having a swing and balcony inside? it also appears you have a regular ocean viewing balcony on the other side which is nice.

It seems to me these would have made more sense as modified Aft view balconies over the savannah pool with a hammock/swing.

also if i'm traveling in a group and I stay in the savannah section will my friends who don't be able to come visit me in that pool area during the day?

it seems like a good bad badly executed idea...

Not sure what you mean by the first part and the inside balcony..... I love them. If you want to party with your friends, you can do it all over the rest of the ship.

We booked one of these cabanas last night for the May 1st inaugural. I looked at what pictures I could find pretty good and from what I can tell you enter your cabin through a hallway on the inside.

You have your sleeping area, your inside living area, your outside covered balcony area then a semi covered 2nd outside cabana area.

I do like the fact that during the day the pool will be only for cabana pe4ople but at night anyone can come.

I also like that it is so close to everything on Deck 5. Really a terrific location.

I agree, make sure you take lots of pics and show us upon your return.

I booked a havana cabana room for the TA. Not a suite, just a regular room. My husband wanted a cove because the balcony isnt private, but I convinced him by telling him we wont have to fight for deck space by the pool. I love the idea of laying in the hammock all day, even if it isnt private. Serenity isnt private either, and you have to fight for space.

That was one of the main draws for us to. I remember always having to walk and walk on sea days to find a lounger but now we will be able to step out of our room, walk a few feet and we will have our own lounger or walk a few more feet and have wonderful chairs and a pool to lounge in.

No more fighting for space.:)

Of all the new things they've announced about the Carnival Vista, I'm most excited about these Havana cabins and the adjacent Havana pool area. I think this is a really interesting idea.

For those that book a Havana balcony cabin or a Havana suite, I think the most interesting part will be the balcony, with a hammock and two loungers:

carnival-vista-staterooms-havana-cabana-exterior-gallery-4.jpg

From your Havana balcony, it's just a very short walk around the corner to the aft of the ship where you'll find the Havana pool, two Jacuzzis, and lots of loungers for relaxing.

CL_VS_HavanaPool_02_ren.jpg

I hope the Havana suites are not too expensive. If the price was right, I could definitely see myself in one of them:

Carnival suites are usually fairly pricey, though, so I suspect that the Havana balcony cabins are going to be more in line with my budget:

I guess the inside Havana cabins will appeal to some, just to get access to the Havana pool area... but that wouldn't be for me. I really like the idea of the Havana balcony with the hammock and the loungers, and just making that quick walk around the corner to the pool.

However, the downside to the Havana balconies is a total lack of privacy. I wonder how much foot traffic there will be in that area of deck five... walking right in front of your balcony. It will be interesting to hear from the people in the Havana balcony cabins and suites during the first few cruises, to see how this idea works out in reality. The concept is certainly interesting.

In case you haven't seen it yet, Carnival has created a web page all about the new Carnival Vista... and it even includes a full set of deck plans. Check it out at http://www.carnival.com/cruise-ships/carnival-vista.aspx

I think these rooms are fantastic and will be a big hit when the Vista hits the Caribbean. I don't know how much use I would give them on the port intensive cruises of the Med.

They will probably use bracelets of some sort for access like they do with Spa cabins

I love these rooms!!

I just need to know a little more prior to booking. IE: Just how private these patios are because they don't seem to be very private at all from what I've seen and how they plan to regulate the pool area to Havana guests only.

I too am interested in seeing how they will regulate the pool during the day. Going to be asking a lot of questions between now and our sailing day to try and get some answers.

During the day I really am not concerned re: the balcony. Geez, if I was on Lido there would be no privacy. :D During the night I really don't think w will get that much traffic. Lots to do like casino and movies and eating and the main pool deck so I am hoping it will be a semi quiet place. Either or it is going to be fun. I am a little sad that the regular Cabanas won't have the hammocks. :(

I know what you mean. We have 3 sea days out of our 13 day cruise.

When we went on the Magic 12 Med a few years ago it was a constant go, go, go and we didn't even get back to the ship from Rome until 9:00 or so but it will be nice having the opportunity to sit aft in the evenings and watch the beautiful Med sunsets and sunrises.

I totally agree. You're not at home in your backyard. How much privacy do you want? lol. These suites are great, and I hope you enjoy your TA!

What other types of rooms are in the Havana area? All balconies and insides or are the other ones oceanviews?

From the deck plans, looks like there's 12 Havana Interiors, 23 Havana Cabanas, and 4 Havana Cabana Suites.

I just noticed something I missed the first time I read though the information about the Havana staterooms.

I'm pretty sure that only the 4 Havana suites have hammocks out on the balcony. I'm guessing that the Havana balcony cabins (non-suites) only have the loungers, but not hammocks. And, of course, the interior Havana cabins don't have loungers or hammocks at all.

I posted this on another topic but it might be better here.

The Havana pool is what I always had invisioned for the adults only area for carnival instead of what they gave the adults on the breeze class of ships. They made it a little better on the sunshine giving them a pool.

Also, those nice aft balcony rooms, just lost a little bit of luster to me. Yes you get to have a nice big balcony but since the back of the ship sticks out further now you are just peeping on the select guest in the Havana pool. All the privacy that once was a highlight of an aft balcony is no gone since people on the pool deck will be able to watch you just as you are watching them.

I'm also concerned a little bit by the privacy and security of these open patio/balcony rooms. I would hate to open my shades in the morning and see someone just standing out there or late in the evening with people walking on deck 5 getting loud since now there will be a bar down it that area.

I did a mock booking for the inaugural 8 day cruise. It was a little over $1800 per person. When I selected the room it did only show 4 suites with hammocks. It did say that they were considered spa suites and access to the spa was included. Hope this helps.

At first thought and glance, I was excited by these rooms. The more I think about them I'm not so sure. It will be interesting to hear real life stories how passengers liked them. My main concern is no privacy.

I just caught that as well. I was so excited about these rooms, but not anymore. And the Havana pool has ruined my lovely aft balconies for me now too. :( Guess when I cruise Vista I will try a Lido balcony!

This is really not a new concept for a ship. The Spirit Class ships have French Door cabins that open up to the promenade walkway and your privacy and security is not jeopardized. People love them. If anything these will be better because you will have a lot more space between where people might be walking and your cabin.

Now, in my opinion, I really am not concerned re: nightlife and lots of people being there. There are restaurants, bars and a casino, movie theaters and a comedy club for people to go to and most will be going to them. Few will be making the trek down to Deck 5 aft. Just MHO.

Just booked my first cruise with Carnival on the Vista :D

I could not get the UK site to behave so phoned in, whilst booking I asked about

the Havana area and she asked me to hang on a minute whilst she found her Vista answer sheet. LOL

I asked if the Havana pool area was for the sole use of the Havana cabins?

She answered yes

I asked if the area was open to everyone in the evenings?

The lady read through her cheat sheet and told me there was nothing on it about being open to everyone in the evenings.

I would have thought it would be open to everyone in the evenings

Poor training leads to misinformation and inconsistencies. What a shame, considering the accurate information is directly located on Carnival's website and social media channels.

The 4K cabins do not open onto a walkway unless you include the metal construction one that is used maybe once every 2 weeks by maintenance men. To get into the rooms from deck 3 you would have to have a tall ladder and climb over lifeboats. They are so high from deck 3 that its hard to hear people underneath your cabin.

I think the noise from the party/dance floor next to the dance club will be noisy as well as people wandering around past your cabin both inside and out.

By the way, there is only one Havana balcony left on the transatlantic and no suites left.
