Just had to do the absolute worst thing! I had to cancel.

:( I've been diagnosed with Stomach cancer, as of yesterday, and will be in treatment for awhile. My Dr advised me against leaving the country until its over. Canceling was the most painful moment of my life.

but, Aruba will wait, and when I've recovered I will get there. I was only 38 days out. How sad.

I was thrilled to score a balcony on this 8 day trip for 220. for each of us, that kind of deal probably won't come my way again.

So disappointed.

I totally understand. Had to cancel a cruise about 7 years ago - one week before we were to leave - when my husband had a heart attack at 48-years old!

You are right - Aruba will wait. I wish you a quick recovery so that you can start to plan the replacement cruise!

Take it from somebody who knows, your health comes FIRST. I agree with your physician, having health problems you DON'T want to be out of the country neverless away from your physicians at this time. I am glad to hear there is treatment and your only focus on that is to remain strong mentally and as best as you can physically. Remember, mind over matter and focus on being positive will help you through the process.

Yes, your very disappointed but imagine if you didn't know and being on the ship you ran into health problems that would be bad so it was a blessing in disguise for you to find out now before your cruise. You WILL take that cruise, but priorities first. Wishing you strength and positive thinking and on the road soon to getting better. ;)

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. You are absolutely correct in saying my health comes first. Funny thing, if I hadn't gone on Fantasy last month for 10 days, and had a few drinks every evening in the casino, I never would have had a stomach bleed, and they may not have found it until it was to late. I got sick two days after the cruise. I never drink at home, and I'm sure thats what caused it, so Carnival Fantasy was a blessing!

I'm heading for a complete recovery in about 5 months. LOL Thanks, and I will be back, when I have another cruise (hopefully Aruba) booked.

I agree with everyone else... take care of you first! I had GIST Cancer (Cancer in the lining of my stomach) 2 years ago and proceeded to go on a land vacation the week leading up to my surgery. No matter how I tried, there was no way to relax - I was getting sicker as the time went on - My family got worried every time they thought I didn't look comfortable - it was a mistake!

You'll have a much better time 'celebrating' your strength and recovery soon! Why not find a great cruise for next year and book it under a refundable rate? It will give you something to look forward to while you are fighting hard. As it gets closer you can look at rate options, etc... when you know how your treatment is progressing.

Sending positive thoughts your way!

Huge hugs, start planning (not booking) several cruises to give yourself something to dream the time away during treatment. So you will have the perfect one picked out ready for when you are told you can travel.

Stay positive and stay in control.....you are your best advocate.;) I personally know how alarming this was for you, as I had to cancel a cruise about 15 months ago due to a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Thank God it was caught very very early, and as it was very small (Mayo clinic could not even see the tumor just before surgery). With chemo and radiation after the Whipple surgery I am now completely cancer free.:D We will be going on "that" cruise on April 25th with my wonderful DH.....I am soooo excited!

So, hang in there, "that" cruise will happen for you too:) Lots of prayers coming your way.....

I'm sorry to hear that. Prayers and best wishes your way, you will be on that cruise before you know it :)
