To the OP, I have to agree with your review of the CB...post Royal. We were on the Royal last February and the CB six months later. I was concerned about being "disappointed" but had a wonderful time all around and found the service and food great on the CB. Yes, it could use an update, but I'd go on that ship again tomorrow. I know that our Regal cruise in two weeks will be super fabulous!

Thanks for posting your review and pics. The pool one reminds me of the spring break cruise we took on a Carnival ship a few years ago. I never understood why all the college kids hang around the edges like that.

You're welcome. In these pictures, they were watching pool games. However, they did hang around the edges to drink. :D

Hi,

I agree with Dave, too. Once I got over the more "cozy" atrium, after being on the Royal Princess in 2013, I was right back at home. And, then, as the 9 days went by, I didn't notice the coziness of it; it was more like "intimate". :)

We originally booked the CB for 5 days and then the Princess rep on the phone said it was actually a 9 day. OK. That still wasn't long enough for me.

As usual, my last "excursion" was up top, in that putting green area, watching us maneuver back into port. (after trying other spots).

I enjoyed Bert Stratton in Crooners...our other main venue usually ends up being the casino on our cruises.

Thank you for the great review. I did notice some of the differences/improvements in the port shops, too.

  • 5 months later...

We will be on Caribbean Princess for the first time next week after being on Royal Princess last month.

Reading recent reviews we are thinking that we are going to be a little disappointed after being on a nearly new ship.

The British Isles cruise on the Royal was our first Princess cruise which we enjoyed very much, not just the ship but the service food and everything else.

We have cruised on P&O Ventura and Azura before which are very similar design to the grand /crown class so should be quite familiar to us.

Unless the Caribbean Princess is really in a very bad state I am sure we will have a good time as we really haven't found much to complain about on any cruise we have been on with any cruise line.

Be sure to come back to this thread after your cruise and tell us how it was.
