HGJ1370 Posted May 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Thinking of booking a suite for next year, since we loved Penthouse suite in 2012. Are there any additional "perks" not listed besides the concierge & butler services? I can't seem to remember. Thanks!! Heather
sassyredhat Posted May 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2015 We have only 2 suite cruises under our belts, but we got priority embarkation and disembarkation, waiting to board in the 'suite' area, free internet minutes. We love NCL's suite packages. Patti
sail7seas Posted May 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Do you recall how many free internet minutes? Speak of which, does Dawn have computers available for guests' use. I can decide whether to bring a device of one sort or another with me for occasional use.

RYMOMA Posted May 17, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Dawns Internet cafe is spacious on deck nine Plenty of computers. We purchased the unlimited package for 175$ Totally worth it to be able to keep in touch with the kids we left at home. Wifi is spotty on the outskirts of the ship. But sitting in the atrium, drinking coffee, and chatting with them was worth it.
watchdiva Posted May 17, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 17, 2015 I don't think free internet minutes come with a suite - we've sailed exclusively in suites since 2002 and never had free internet (I wouldn't mind though if they wanted to give it to me!). You will have an invitation to a VIP Suite Party (think free drinks and munchies), priority embark/disembarkation, priority for tender ports, snacks delivered daily to your suites, sparkling wine upon embarkation. There may be more but I don't recall at the moment.
Rare All-ready2cruise Posted May 17, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Internet service: We got additional minutes when we purchased an internet package but there wasn't any free internet when we were in the pre-boarding suite area. However, we haven't cruised on the Dawn yet either. First we need to do the 25-day cruise on the Star, then the NYE cruise in an SD on the Dawn. I doubt if I'll remember about the free internet prior to boarding though. Oh well... cruise on...

AlexandNessa Posted May 17, 2015 #12 Share Posted May 17, 2015 We were in a suite earlier this month. We paid around 189-192$ (can't remember exactly) for an 8 night cruise. Hubby and I had four devices between us. We shared a login with no issues other than only one of us could be logged in at the same time. We thought the WiFi was really pretty good. But there we no free minutes. Talk to your butler and let him or her know what you like. Ours learned our preferences quickly and spoiled us. We will be putting in a request for him next year, should he be on our sailing. We keep in touch on that social media site that shall not be uttered. If he is not aboard, we'll get a recommendation from him as to who to request. Your butler will also fetch any alcohol that you've purchased duty free that is being held for you till the end of your cruise. No need to retrieve that yourself. That's about all I can think of that hasn't already been discussed. Your concierge will also handle dining changes, last minute shorex, spa treatments if you like. Of course being in a suite, you're exempt from room service charges. We had UDP, and had no issues ordering from specialty restaurants to our room. Our butler did a lovely job with that. LaCucina can be a little loud. We enjoyed the meal so much more in the quiet of our room and just each other. Would certainly do that again in a heartbeat. The best part for us is being escorted off the ship, past the lines and right into customs. Enjoy!!

Cruise4Real Posted May 17, 2015 #14 Share Posted May 17, 2015 There's a Lavazza espresso machine in your suite. A lot of folks here rave about it, but I was very underwhelmed by the machine. Maybe it was our particular unit, but it produced coffee that was pretty luke-warm, if you didn't slug it right down it was cold in a matter of minutes. No microwave in which to heat it up, either! We just had the Butler deliver a pot of hot coffee, some toast and Danish. Then when we were ready for Second Breakfast, we'd go hit up the Haven Restaurant. SuiteTraveler Posted May 17, 2015 #17 Share Posted May 17, 2015 (edited) I'm going to try to list every amenity we've experienced on NCL as suite guests. Really, there are a lot: Elemis amenties in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, body gel, soap) In some suites seashell bath salts. Sparkling bottle of wine and free large bottle of water on embarkation Pillow menu Spa robes Flower arrangement chocolates on pillows at night butler service concierge service special seating for shows priority boarding special VIP area at the pier, including a waiting room at some embarkation ports with sandwiches, fruit and tea and coffee Escort onboard. If you are in an Owner's suite or above, you get free bottles of alcohol - I believe it is 2 for 7 days and 3 for longer. DVD player Lavazza coffee machine upgraded balcony furniture Selection of bar glasses including wine glasses and highballs nightly hors d'oourves AND anything you want from your butler Plates, napkins and silverware Spa suite only: access to the spa's thermal suite (Epic and newer ships) Garden Villas have a hot tub, their own grand piano, private sun decks. Cagney's or Haven restaurant breakfast and lunch Haven dinner on Epic and newer ships. Suite bar on Epic and newer ships Access to The Haven pool, hot tubs, steam room, exercise room (some ships) Priority dinner reservations from the concierge Priority shore excursion reservations from the concierge Concierge assistance with unexpected issues Escort by concierge off the ship for disembarkation and earliest possible disembarkation. Arizona Packer Backer Posted May 17, 2015 #19 Share Posted May 17, 2015 (edited) Will the butler be able to get me decaf coffee for my coffee machine? Yes. In our suite, they had already provided a few pods of decaf, but we asked for extra and it was always well stocked after that. NLH Arizona Posted May 17, 2015 #20 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Will the butler be able to get me decaf coffee for my coffee machine? Yes and you will be asked by the pre-concierge if you would like decaf or regular. This was on my email: Coffee Regular Decaffeinated Tea Chamomile Green Black Lemon I wanted decaf tea and put that on my response back to the pre-concierge and it was in my suite upon my arrival. puggsie Posted May 17, 2015 #23 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Will the concierge make reservations for you if only 1/2 your party is in a suite? Like, is there a way to dine in the specialty restaurants with friends when they're not in a suite and/or can you make separate reservations online then have the concierge join the reservations so you can all dine together? Same question for shows.

You covered it all. I loved how kind and wonderful our butler and concierge was on the Star. I am so lookign forward to my birthday cruise next year and getting pampered again! If only my Carnival cruise offered all of the services the NCL gives us.
