Would love it if folks on upcoming cruises would check out the stores and mention if they are stocking the NEW iPad minis. (It would be considered the iPad Mini 4.)

 

Also, I'm pretty new to cruising--can anyone confirm that I can use ANY OBC for purchases of goods onboard? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm just not sure how 'real' the OBC you get from the cruise line is. I know some of it is refundable (from TAs, etc) and some maybe not so much.

The ships stores report items sold onboard that are over the allowance to customs. A friend of mine discovered that when the bell rang on her card when she debarked with an expensive watch she bought at one of the ships shops. Customs was unhappy that she had not declared it.....

 

The same thing happened on a Princess Ship. When I purchased my son's laptop ($1500) on board I charged it to a different credit card that wasn't linked to my on board account. Took it out of the box and set it up on board. I carried it off of the ship and through customs without a problem.

As long as you are happy to leave the packaging behind, watches are easy to wear. I usually travel with a few of them so who knows when you buy them.

Sorry, is this thread now about smuggling! i.e. importing goods but not paying the relevant duty and tax?

Do all of the Celebrity ships have an Apple store? We will be on the Reflection in April and it might be a good time to replace my old iPad 2.

It's about time this information was updated- Century left the fleet in April 2015.
