Norwegian Cruise Line to Move Getaway to Europe, Jade to U.K.

Someone needs to tell either NCL or Cruise Critic's editorial staff that Copenhagen is in Denmark, not Germany.

Apparently the Getaway will be cruising from Copenhagen, but the article says it will be based in Germany.

Thank you pointing that out. There was a bit of confusion as there were two announcements – one in Germany and one in the UK the following day, and I have now amended this error.

Looking forward to the 9th. We are on the Epic transatlantic on 4/1/17 and want to stay on for the next cruise and then stay in spain, france and meander to Amsterdam to get on Celebrity Silhouette for our 13 night Baltic cruise.

We haven't decided where we will go after we get off in Stockholm yet. Have not been in that part of the world yet!!

I'm booked March 19, 2017 out of Tampa, is that going to change? I just booked last weekend and there was no indication it would change. If NCL does this to me again this could be the last straw.

No guarantees but very unlikely your cruise will change. The ship will be leaving Tampa at the end of April so you should be fine.

Interesting stuff. Getaway is so heavily Miami themed that it seems odd to move it to Europe. It tells you that a possible Caribbean cruise glut is coming again? What is replacing Getaway in Miami? Will NCL just do eastern Caribbean for awhile with Escape? I would love to see Epic come back to Miami. Maybe someday.

My guess would that Getaway will do a similar itin to what the Star is doing now, but, instead of sailing out of Tampa for the winter it will still be out of Miami. The Jade will be out of Tampa and since there will be no ship out of Houston, that seems the most logical solution.

However, I've been wrong before, and could be wrong again... we'll soon know how it'll work out.

They should keep Getaway in Miami and move Escape. That would make more sense since the theme of Getaway is Miami. Plus, it's my favorite ship. I like knowing it's an option in Miami.
