Gratuities, what constitutes a day

I did try and search this out, but couldn't find it, and ran our of search terms to try.

Before I even ask the question, it's more out of curiosity, I'm totally fine either way, just wondering.

What constitutes a "day" as far as gratuities are concerned? Does embarkation day count? (I would assume yes), how about debarkation day? (that's the one I'm really not sure about.

I'm going the paradise for 5 nights, 3 of us, just wondering if it will cost $180 or $216.

thanks for any help.

It's 5 days or nights no matter how you break it down.

I'm not positive in this, but once the casino and lounges close down on the last night of the cruise, I think the S&S accounts are closed too. When you wake up on the morning of Debarkation, your S&S card will be just a room key at that point.

Don't count days. Count nights that you sleep on the ship. You are charged the service charge for each night that you are on the ship.

Not our experience. Hubby always uses his card to purchase us each a specialty coffee to drink while waiting for debark. BUT we have sailed different ships than you. It might vary from ship to ship or perhaps the times of cut off.

Like everyone has said count the nights. So for a five night cruise it would be $60 pp per stateroom. So for the three of you it would be $180.

This link will break down gratuities and in the future show you what they will be for the length of cruise.

In looking at that link its kind of ridiculous about the 2 year years and younger not being required to tip. so that means the 3 year old and up must tip ? boy thats really going to cut into their allowance !
